Maximum RAM for DV6-6047ci

I have a Pavilion DV6-6047ci with Windows 8 and 8 GB of Ram. Can someone tell me if I can expand this to 16 GB of Ram? If so, what kind of Ram?

Hello

The specifications Page for your laptop list the maximum ram 8 GB (2 x 4 GB Modules) - this is also confirmed here.

Kind regards

Crucial.com say the maximum RAM for my desktop HPE-130cs is 16 GB (4 x 4 GB DDR3 pc3-10600). However, can I push it successfully to 32 GB with 4 x 8 GB modules?

    Hello:

Here is the link to the product for your PC.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01997177

Maximum physical memory is 16 GB.

In addition, please note that even if you could go beyond 16 GB (which you can't), you must have windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition installed as windows home edition premium does not run to a maximum of 16 GB of memory.

Can someone tell me what is the maximum RAM for the R31

    Welcome to the forum!

Could you please send the model number of 7 characters of your R31?

Theoretically, 1 GB should be maximally to P3M units, but some Celeron machines have a slot already filled, that is why I ask the model number.

Good luck and let us know.

  • Maximum RAM for old computer with operating system updated

I have old a laptop Compaq Presario C700 initially provided with 1 GB of RAM and Windows Vista.  This computer has since been updated for Windows 7 32-bit and upgrade to 2 GB of RAM.  I checked Crucial site and he informed me that the maximum RAM for this computer is the 2 GB that I am currently.  Despite this, I read the posts of people successfully 3 to 4GB of RAM installed and still having their computer function properly.  I also read that the maximum RAM that can run on a Windows 7 32-bit system is 4 GB.

Since I now have Windows 7, I will be able to further improve my computer to a 4 GB of RAM or the hardware of the laptop itself prevents me to do?

The manual for a Compaq Presario C700 says on page 2 supports up to 2 GB of RAM:
    http://www.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01301275.PDF

With all computers, you have two factors limiting the amount of RAM memory that may be installed, or the motherboard, and the version of Windows installed. In your case, it is the motherboard that prevent you from adding more RAM.

  • Upgrading RAM for Dv6-3206AX? Maximum supported RAM

    Hi all

I am in need to upgrade my memory of's laptop (DV6-3206AX). At the present time it is 4 GB and I thought to upgrade to 16 GB.

The reason for this upgrade is, I work as a developer and use many technologies and software requiring a huge memory tell SharePoint, SQL Server, DMS systems. I tend to play with these technologies on my laptop and of course to learn and build solutions. Now 2013 SharePoint requires more memory, I would need to increase the memory of my laptop.

My concern, I am not sure weather my laptop wouldn't support 16 GB or not? If so, then this high memoery would result in additional heating.

    Configuration of the laptop

    • AMD Phenom II N970 (4 c, 2.20 GHz/4 x 512 KB / 3.6GTs)
    • 4 GB RAM DDR3
    • 500 GB SATA HARD DRIVE
    • DVD +/-RW double layer with LightScribe drive
    • 15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) LED backlit BrightView
    • AMD Radeon HD 6550 (discreet, dedicated 1 GB)
    • 10/100/1000 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN
    • Dolby Digital Audio Advance with speakers Altec Lansing, Webcam, media card reader
    • 1 x HDMI, 1 x VGA, 3 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB/eSATA, 1 x RJ-45
    • AC adapter, battery, power cord
    • (Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed) Windows 8 Professional upgrade.

Any person who has knowledge or have already tried on similar systems, share your experience.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You machine is not in the following list:

Based on this, it supports ONLY 8 GB.

How much memory your Windows OS will recognize depends on which version of Windows you are using. 32-bit versions of Windows will see (and use) only 3 or 3.5 GB. To use more memory, install a 64-bit version of your OS. More information about maximum rates of memory OS can be found here.

    Hello

Yes, you can switch to 16 GB of RAM. Windows 32 bit version cannot address more than 4 GB so to be able to use/uyilize 16 GB of RAM, you must run the 64 bit version of Windows. You can buy RAM from the reliable supplier or use the information, including prices, buy elsewhere:

  • Maximum RAM for 13 and 15 inches?

A quick search on Google shows that the RAM maximum 8 GB for models 13 "and 15" for late 2011 and mid-2012. My uncle has a 15 "end 2011 MBP with 16 GB. The 8 GB means 8 GB in each slot? I was looking to upgrade my MacBook like they turned slowly.

It's 8 GB total, but with good RAM, 16 GB is fine

  • Maximum RAM for Pavilion dv7-6107ee, product number LS048EA

    Hey there ' All,.

I currently have the OEM 8 GB RAM installed.  I run VMware Workstation 8 for a laboratory test on my laptop and I would really like to 16 GB of RAM, but it seems that I read a few places that this model is not expandable to 8 GB (which is funny because the model seems comes with 8 GB.) So much for an upgrade).

Before you buy 16 GB memory live, this laptop will support him?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 with a processor Intel 320 160 GB SSD (SSD is worth every penny, incidentally!).

I just ran the Crucial System Scanner to see what he had to say and he acknowledged my system like a HP - Compaq IdeaPad U450p Laptop/Notebook.  This is not just, of course, but there may be a link any between the two I don't know.  States crucial System Scanner:

Each slot of memory can hold DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-10600, with a maximum of 4 GB per slot.*
    * May not exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Of course, the important part here, I've noticed, is that there is a maximum of 4 GB per slot because that's what HP is supported.  Does that mean that the system will recognize even 16 GB and it will not support the HP? Could there be stability problems if I do?  I'm looking for if I install 16 GB?

    See you soon,.

    {Information}

    Hi, Mike:

According to the specifications of the system for your laptop, it comes with an Intel i7 processor.

Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842278.PDF

There are two sets of specifications of memory depending on whether you have a processor AMD or Intel.

Since you have an Intel processor, you can install modules memory 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) in your PC.

Please see Chapter 1, page 6.
