MCAFFE UPDATE LAUNCHER has been closed. To protect your computer Data Execution Prevention has closed McAfee update Launcher. A proglem caused this application to stop working correctly. What should I do? I'm not savvy in computer science. Thank you.

Hello

1. Once you get this error code or error message?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

3 - is the problem confined to the McAfee update Launcher?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 1:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, try the procedure described in step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.

Method 2:

Try to uninstall McAfee using the removal tool, and then reinstall and check.

Consult this link for uninstall McAfee of McAfee:

Hope the information is useful.

  • Need help! Just got a message window on startup, which reads "path of data execution: to help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program: name: request for logon Userinit, Publisher: Microsoft.» Can anyone help?

I just got an error message at startup, which reads: execution of data path: to protect your computer, Windows has closed this program: name: request for logon Userinit, Publisher: Microsoft.  My pc is under Windows XP SP2. I think that different multiple verisons of software "virus protection" began to appear in the Explorer. I know that they do not belong on my computer. I tried to close them, but they just kept moving forward. I'm trying to find some help to solve the problem. Moreover, when I close the window of Data Execution Prevention error message, I have my bottom, no other other icons for one of my programs are on the screen. Help... This can be corrected?

    Thanks in advance.

    Carter2009,
If you started having 'Magical' Antivirus programs to appear on your system that you do not install, then you are infected.  Some people may be painful to remove, to others not so much.  I recommend http://www.malwarebytes.org/ for malware protection and http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/ for antivirus.

But now you're in a bit of a place.  I download Malware Bytes and put it on a USB key.  Then see if you can boot in safe mode and run MalwareBytes.  If you're not in safe mode, take a look at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318027

Hope these helps. QQ learn manage!

    Hello kapolei, welcome.

I would recommend that you try running Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode.

    3. click on "Accessories".
    4. click on "system tools."

If this does not work, try resetting Internet Explorer back to the default values.

    1. open Internet Explorer
    2. at the top right, click on tools > Internet Options
    3. click on the "Advanced" tab
    4. click on "reset...". "all the way down and let it reset all default settings
    5 restart your computer

  • Has anyone found the solution to the "blue screen" that States windows has been shut down to protect your computer?

I followed the directions when invited to press F8 but nothing not done, I find myself just to return to the 'blue '.

I don't have add new hardware before that happened.

You gave us a general indication of the nature of the problem but the specific error reports are a much easier solution.

When a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) the system failure occurs, for most users, there not enough time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.

If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Do right click on the icon my computer on the desktop and select Properties, advanced, startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.

If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

  • Windows Update gets closed by Windows Data Execution Prevention

Running Windows XP Pro with SP3.  Windows Update is set to warn me of updates.

For the last two days, whenever I turn on, a popup appears saying

-Microsoft Windows data execution prevention.  To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program.  Name: Windows Update.  Publisher: Microsoft Corporation.

It gives me a "close this window" button, but if I click on it it just reappears.  The offending executable seems to be wuauctl.exe.

I checked and the only wuauctl.exe on my system is where it should be, in \Windows\System32\, although there are also a large number of \Windows\pchealth\ErrorRep\UserDumps entries all from when I first encountered the problem.

What has gone wrong and what I would do to this topic?

    ger1atric,
I suggest that you make sure you have Latest Windows Update Agent.  If you do and are still getting the error, then try the steps listed below.

If your computer is set to apply DEP to all programs and services, the DEP error message will have a change settings button. If an update of the program is not available, follow these steps to add an exception for the program of the DEP error message:

    1. When you receive the error message, click change settings.
    2. Click to select the check box next to the program, and then click apply.
    3. When you are prompted to restart your computer, double click on OK and restart your system.

You can also add an exception for the program by using System Properties in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
    2. Click the Advanced tab, click performance, and then click settings.
    3. In the Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
    4. In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the program.
    5. Click Open, click apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click OK.

  • Need help troubleshooting a Data Execution Prevention (DEP) related to Acrobat and scan edition.

Windows XP SP3, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2, TWAIN driver

I'm trying to find an answer to help someone else troubleshoot.

Thus, the user could be used successfully before, scan-to-function PDF Acrobat but now receives a DEP notice that says "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program" and lists of Acrobat. Features of Acrobat with a DEP notice normally except when trying to analyze.

There has been no change other than an update to Acrobat (from 9.1.3 to 9.2 http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/500/cpsid_50026.html) and standard Windows updates known system. Checked all user XP updates been made, did a repair on the installation of Acrobat and checked that he was using the scanner the most recent driver.

The user disable DEP and everything works well. This fixes the problem, but open the computer to a potential attack.

Any suggestions on what to try? This could be a problem with the TWAIN driver? is their any way to check?
    Help appreciated - thank you!

Windows continues to prevent my McAfee update Launcher to work. My internet security McAfee always says I'm protected, but windows does not of course to update for some reason any. I tried looking for updates to McAfee and it starts to look, but then just says stop and "error". The DEP message then comes to the top. The message of Windows arrives randomly throughout the day as McAfee tries to update? Can you help me please?

    Original title: DEP

    Hello

    1. What is the full error message?

2 is this problem limited to the McAfee program?

3 did you changes to the computer before the show?

Prevention of execution of data (DEP) is a set of hardware and software technologies that perform additional checks on memory to help protect against malicious code exploits.

    Method 1:
I suggest you turn off DEP for a particular program and check with the question.

  • Data Execution Prevention has closed Adobe Reader

I can't launch Adobe Reader, received the following message

    DEP.jpg

When I close the program, a message says "Data Execution Prevention has closed Adobe Reader".  I searched the Microsoft Community for corrections, but these suggestions do not work.

I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic Version 6 Service Pack 2, 32-bit and I downloaded Adobe Reader 10.1.4

You can download the 10.1.9 http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5712 update patch

Protected Mode is normally disabled since in the Adobe Reader preferences.  Given that you can't even open Adobe Reader, you can turn it off via the Windows registry: download, unzip, then run the attached registry script.

  • Whenever I try to open firefox, windows, it stops and says "data execution prevention has closed firefox. What can I do?

Can not open google chrome more.  It's really annoying.  Can you help me?

Please specify your Windows version by clicking on modify under your original message and then change the drop-down lists to indicate the correct version of Windows.

That means message that programs are trying to write to areas of the process address space that thinks Windows should not be written.  There is a protection that helps prevent malicious code to modify areas of memory that must be read-only and then execution of these regions to do something dangerous.

Is the error message has an option 'change settings '?  If so, click it, that a dialogue should open the program and you should be able to put a checkbox next to it.

Otherwise, right click on computer and select properties or press Windows key + R and in the open field, type

    sysdm.cpl

and then press ENTER.  Select the Advanced tab, and then in the 'Performance' section, click settings.  Select the tab 'Data Execution Prevention'.  What do you see in this tab?

  • If I get a data execution prevention message, how can I find which program has been interrupted?

If I get a data execution prevention message, how can I find which program has been interrupted?

    Hi Robhofm,

Usually the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) automatically monitors Windows programs and services. You can increase your protection by having DEP monitor all programs.

For the program being stopped by DEP, you will receive an error message indicating the cause of the stop and the name of the program.

  • Data Execution Prevention has closed Itunes

I have a terrible time trying to get my Itunes to work. However, there seems to be a problem with Data Execution Prevention do not allow me to open the program. I followed the steps and checked the boxes that Itunes and Quicktime would be allowed. However, this still does not work! I don't know what to do, I'm really frustrated :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Do not forget to check with iTunes and QuickTime Support and forums as it may be known issues
    and/or required special techniques.

The problem might actually be an addon or another program causing the problem and you
    must verify that 1.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have
EVER had on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which)
    may cause strange problems).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

    not better?

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, is no longer necessary, but)
Java always install it and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again.)
    Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look
right. Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If a doubt
program to ask about it here.

Could be a free - BHOremover - BHO - standalone program, needs no installation, download and
run - not all are bad but some can cause your question. (Toolbars are BHO)

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and which would be
stands with Prevx running except for a cookie of occasional low level (not a big deal), the update
and then execute it as a scanner.

    I would add prevx so.
