MCU 5310 migration Acano (CMS)

Hi experts,

I knew that telepresence as mcu5310 can be upgraded to 310 telepresence server.

But I wonder if any way to migrate to Acano 5310

Thank you.

Yes, you should be able to migrate the MCU 5300 series to CMS for a cost.  You must reach to your account manager, they can help determine the best path of migration for you and provide you with all the necessary information.

  • Cisco VCS and MCU - Conference does not

    Dear community members

I have problems in the VCS configuration to work with the MCU to join to several endpoints in a conference. The components that I use:

    -Cisco VCS control v8.7.

    -Cisco 5300 MCU 5310 v 4.5 (1.72)

    -3 x SX20 end points

I recorded every endpoint and MCU on VCS, but I'm not able to do a conference call 3-way, the only option is 1 video and 1 audio (I disabled the Multisite option). It seems that VCS does not yet call the MCU in the game.

    Kindly help us with it.

Can you tell us how you set up the Conference and how you have configured MCU and endpoints?

From the sounds of it, you call each end point of one of the SX20s, but you must call simply directly in the Conference on the MCU.  If you want to have a conference point to point between two end points and then degenerate into a multipoint conference on the MCU, you must configure Multiway.

  • Automation of MCU events

    Hi all

Is there a way by which we can get notifications automatically at certain events in MCU?

For example: get an email notification, because soon the video ports reached its capacity. As in MSE 8510 soon 20 HD ports get used email or some sort of notification can be sent to the admin. Right now the only way is to keep monitoring the page Conference or event logs. If there is a way by using another application (can be in curl) / syslog server MCU can send a trap and then it can still trigger a mail server to send an email, or any other way, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

This has been asked several times before, even by myself, and if anything has been done recently, it is not possible.  There is even an open for this enhancement request apparently CSCuc94233.  Alternately, if you use the conductor, you could get something close to him using the capacity of the conductor to monitor the ability of the configured conference bridges.

  • Tandberg MXP 990 / F5.4 video failure on MCU

    Hi all

Since the last update (7.2.2 to x8.1 VCS) and a MCU 5310 from 4.3 to 4.4, you encounter the following problem:

No video sees these codecs by other participants in the videoconference.

Just to let you know, the video is fine when we're in a point to point call, but not when the MCU is included.

And 990 codecs send video but it is not received by the participants, as MCU indicates the quality of the signal.

Encryption, media ports have been changed for the tests, no other success.

Is there a problem with H263/H263 / H264 on these very old versions of software?

Thanks for your answers and advice.

    See you soon,.

I would recommend that you upgrade your old firmware of codecs. There is a Safety Advisory (http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cis...) which may be of interest - you should be able to get an upgrade to version F9.1 with that - then it as a simple upgrade to the latest F9.3.1 from there.

    Hello!

In short, if you use the 1:1 NAT it is mandatory to have the 'dual interface option', even if you only

use an interface, but allows a field set the external nat IP.

Also all communications to this interface must go to the external ip address.

  • Registration of telepresence

We have our configuration of the recording and the work, but I'm looking for the place to change the screen on registration form.  Instead of him occupy little space and say record I want just display a red dot.  I saw a video like this, but I can't find where I can change this.  Any ideas?

Cisco TelePresence Content Server v5.3 build 3316

    TMS - 13.2.1

    MCU - 5310

I understand that, you want to hide the red dot with the video "Recording" that appears when it is connected and show only a red dot on the screen?  And I assume you are using a TCS?

You can on your MCU, cut video of the TCS that will hide the splash video "Recording" from the server.  Then turn on your MCU the following setting make a red dot appear in the upper corner of the screen for everyone.

Settings > superimposed icons > record indicator

  • Telepresence call seconds Sx80 became as Audio calls only

    Hi all

We have two Telepresnce SX80 (Ext:5001 and 5002) on different location and video call work HARD but when I try to call one of my Cisco Jabber on smart phone presentation of the call on Panel (answer appeal Audio only).

is it possible to make third call like video?

the applcaition for help on this envirment as follows:

    UCM-10, 5

    MCU 5310

    Telepresnce two Sx80?

The issue was not on the pool of the unit or the MRG, it was how the call flow looks like.

As you mentioned the call that creates the problem emanates from your smartphone, it would be the first thing, the video works when you dial directly between the telepresence system and Jabber on the phone?

According to the video smartphone may not be supported, keep this in mind.

If the video does not work on direct appeal from point to point it won't probably work a

    multi-party scenario or,...

If the video works, keep reading, if not first fix the part :-)

Next part would be when you launch the multi party call how it is done and where is

    the call ends upwards.

You have different scenarios, appointment, ad-hock or on demand.

I assume you are talking about meetings ad-hock.

In any case, it would be important to hear how the call is established at the end.

    I see scenarios:

    * This call is hosted locally on the SX80, when no multisite license is present a further appeal would be added as audio only

    * Call Gets an audio only MRG lift, but who would also stop the initial video

    * call gets lift for the MCU but the video is missing for the participant to Jabber

(Additional troubleshooting is required between the MCU and Jabber).

  • Questions call non-Traversal

    Hi all

I implement some new devices of telepresence:
    Site has
    VCS-control (X8.1)
    VCS-Expressway (X8.1)
    MCU 5310 (4.4)
    C40 codec (7.0.2)

    Site B
    (7.0.2) codec C20
    The site has different subnet

I have enabled H.323 & SIP on the VCS - C and tested several calls between Site A & b. whenever calls go out H.323, SIP, or SIP to H.323 from the C40 for the C20 or vice versa, that there is no problem. Both sites receive video and audio.
Whenever I force the same protocol. That is to say, H.323 to SIP for SIP or H.323 and making the same calls, the site B (C20) is not video of the Site (C40). However the C40 receives both video & audio of the C20. What is interesting, is that if I do the same calls of the MCU, which is also in Site A, then there is no problem. So the problem is between the C40 and C20.
Since I'm not physcally on sites because I do this execution remotely, I can count only on the stats I get from the GUI. I have attached a photo taken of the customer from the screen of the C20.

    Calls:
    Calls crossing
    C40 - C20 H.323 - SIP - call ok
    C20 - C40 H.323 - SIP - call ok
    C40 - C20 SIP - H.323 - call ok
    C20 - C40 SIP - H.323 - call ok
    MCU - C20 H.323 - H.323 - call ok

    Non-Traversal calls
    C40 - C20 H.323 - H.323 - no video received the C20
    C40 - C20 SIP - SIP - no video received the C20
    C20 - C40 H.323 - H.323 - no video received the C20
    C20 - C40 SIP - SIP - no video received the C20

This suggests that there is only a problem on the C20 in non-traversal calls. I don't want to use licensed traveled between these 2 points of termination.

Thank you for your help. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    -Greg

When you make an H323, SIP call, all media is 'mandated' by the VCS, so they would still work even if they cannot ping each other.  When you do a non-traversal call, media flows directly between the endpoints.

Ping a C-Series, connect to the codec via SSH (same credentials as the Web browser), and then type systemtools network ping 10.1.1.1

Where "10.1.1.1" is the IP address of the remote end point.

  • MCU migrate Server TP

Just curious about how long it takes to migrate a 8710 leave a 8510 or 5320 MCU on a Mulit-party 320 support?

I am referring to this process.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/infrastructure/TS/...

I do not have a practical MCU I can convert and I am looking at a level of effort. If you've done this before, can you give me an idea of how long it took?

    THX,

    Rob

It's like any other MCU upgrade, the only difference is taken into account for the extra time essentially through a new facility for the first time.  This is because after you install the software, the MCU will restart and set up as a new server of telepresence with no activation/option key and a blank configuration.  It really depends on the speed at which you can get by adding in the license keys and in-depth how you want to be by configuring the settings of the server.  I don't remember exactly how long it took when I tested with my MCUs, but maybe 30 minutes to an hour off the top of my head.

  • Video loading on 5310 MCU (via XML - RPC)

    Hello.

I am trying to create a script for Nagios monitoring monitor the use of the video ports on my 5310 MCU (software version 4.4).

I found an example of a perl using RPC::XML scipt and it works quiet well except for one thing: I have no video support.

I used the "device.health.query" method, which should include a member named "videoLoad" (an allusion to Cisco TelePresence MCU API 2.10 Guide).

I get a correct result of this method, but there are some missing members.

    Here is the result:

    There is no «videoLoad» Member

Is that what I got wrong, or do I have to activate something on the MCU?

Is there another way to get the load of the video of the MCU (such as SNMP or sth)?

    Kind regards

    Sven Lindeke

HELLO Sven.  Thus, it seems that the platform of the 5300 series will not return these values as the old platforms.  VideoLoad and audioLoad return values have been deleted because they were reporting incorrect information from this platform works mixed audio and video DSP unlike older models of MCU.

The only options I see here:

    (1) run a script to extract the status data > conferences page.
    (2) to invest in the conductor and request a conductor for audio and video ports in use.
    (3) account team push to drive above CDETS for call API to draw the status information > conferences page.
    (4) put in place a script to subscribe to and then listen to the events of feedback - see page 18 of the http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/mcu/api_guide/MCU_API_2-10.pdf
May be able to count participants join and leave this way maybe.

I know that doesn't help you now, but only four methods I can recommend at this time.

  • Why replace MSE 8510 MCU 4.4 with Telepresence Server (3.1)

We have a with MCU 4.4 MSE 8510. Looking at the software accessible to the general public, that looks like that I could replace the software with the telepresence instead server software.

Why I do this? What can I win (and lose) by? I don't have any old CTS systems, just Jabber, MXP and C systems. Is telepresence server software that is actively developed while the old software MCU is not?

    Thank you

I agree with you, Codian MCU is the best.   =)

This is why I think Cisco is not going to add MCU multi-screen support, because if MCU multi-screen support, I don't know that all customers would not want to migrate to server TP or buy a new server TP.

But because of these two main features of server TP, we think about its use, who are the multimonitor support and support for the optimization of the resources with the driver.

Many Cisco! As always... In this way, they can keep the two products on the market, MCU and GST.

  • Driver TP does redundancy MCU?

    Hello

It is claimed that TP driver can support several microcontrollers for the main use of the call for balance in the creation of a pool (if I understood). But there's just a couple of microcontrollers (any: either 2 separate 4505 x, or 2 x 5310 grouped) with calls on each, is there a way to pass calls from failure (just in case) MCU for work one?

And another point of cleaning. As I undarstood in the documentation of a cluster of MCU 5300 provides no redundancy, because one is the master and the second is slave. Master/slave failure leads to the failure of the cluster.

Please correct if I am wrong.

    Thank you

    Hello

"If the start of the Conference or MCU offices fails" is a very dangerous option, since it can make TMS down permanent calls that actually are connected correctly. This happens if the TMS loses the connection to the MCU for a minute, but this does not necessarily mean that endpoints cannot connect to the MCU.

We strongly recommend to not use "If the start of the Conference or MCU offices fails.

  • All series on stacking MCU 5300

    Hello world

    As my topic above.

I have several questions on stacking MCU 5300 series

    1. what type of series 5300 MCU only stackable? 5310 + 5310? or + 5310 5320? or + -5320 5320?

    2. If I cumulation 5320 + 5320 MCU, can I do conference call with 40 participants from HD in a room?

    3. How about the layout?

    4. What are the different between stacking and cascade MCU?

    Please advise,

    Thank you

    Ovindo Prastyo Utomo

    Hello Ovindo-

For questions 1 and 2, you can take a look at this powerpoint which shows different stacking combinations for the 5300 series MCU and port capacity for each.

Regarding the page layouts, the 5300 series follow the same layouts class microcontrollers such as the 4000 series and MSE 8510.  In the MCU 5300 Administrator's guide, it covers some of these layouts.

The packing is just another word as reunification when compared with other microcontrollers, it allows you to join two or more microcontrollers (two can only be stacked/grouped in the 5300 MCU series).  Once on the other two microcontrollers are treated as a big MCU.

Cascade, creates a link involved between two microcontrollers.  A MCU dials to the other as a participant and is treated as such in order to allow a larger participants to attend a conference of MCU another if one is at capacity.

    Hope this helps some.
