  • No free space after deleting files - trouble with optimized storage?

Hi, I have macos Sierra and I deleted many files to my main drive and also to my external hard drive (both to the Mac OS Extended format) in preparation for the boot camp. I also emptied the Recycle Bin, although there is much less space on the two disks that it should be and the majority of the space is obviously indicated under "purgeable". I thought it would not be a problem, because I assumed that the space would be released, if I move all of the files there and if I need for the new Windows partition. However, this assumption was false. I can't simply use storage that I released. I can't move there all the files and I can't create the partition from free space. What can I do with it? It's pretty frustrating... Thanks for the help!

You must use the Bootcamp Assistant to create the Bootcamp partition.

Please provide details on the total space and free space on your internal drive. Post screenshots of what you see in system-> storage information. In addition, select the drive in Finder-I press control and post a screenshot of the window read the information.

  • storage iCloud blown by photos

    Hello

My free iCloud storage began to look a little tight, as did the storage on my phone, so I paid for storage of 50 GB iCloud and had my phone storage optimization. Now my 50 GB is a little dominated by my 30 + GB of photos. Yes, I'm much too shy the removed button, but this is how I am!

This is the price (I think I have to go again) to have my photo library in the cloud (Apple), or is there something I can do to limit the load on my storage iCloud account?

    Thank you

Looks like you have a lot of photos and videos may be too.  If this is the case, Yes, you are right, you will have to pay for more storage.  Looks like the 200 GB plan will work for you.

  • iCloud-storage

Would like to know why we cannot have a mid range plan between the 200gig and 1 TB storage? I don't want to pay what I won't use unnecessarily.

    Hello StereoBeatz96,

Please ask questions on your iPhone storage here in Apple Support communities. I understand how it is important to have space on my iPhone. I'll be happy to arrange things for you to check.

The first thing we want to make sure that all of your data on your device is safe. You can perform a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once we know that your data is safe, please open this help article: how OS X and iOS report of storage capacity. He's going on how iOS reports the storage on your device. This second article of aid will help you check which is exactly using your data: check the storage on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

Finally, you can use this help article to manually make space: If you need more space for an update of iOS. I know it says for an update, but the steps are the same, and information on specific apps that allow you to erase parts of the data, not requiring only not the whole application to remove all the relevant. With iOS 10 comes the new option to remove the built-in apps that you never use. See this help article: delete the apps Apple integrated from the home screen on your device iOS with iOS 10.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • Sierra of MacOS - 50-100GB of storage system?

    Hi all

I have a Macbook Air from mid-2013 with 120 GB of SSD storage. I have updated my OS sierra and noticed that the 'system' takes up 100 GB of storage! I tried to delete my files, but for some reason, I still has a very high amount of the storage system.

I decided to clean my computer everything and do a clean install. With the clean install, I have 50 GB of storage of the system. This sounds like a ton of storage used for system to me. Is this typical? I remember that a lot of space in the Yosemite/El Capitan.

Thanks a lot for your help!

120 GB SSD storage does not work. What you need, it is 10 times this amount of storage and memory far more to have a working machine. Got a HD big or better get a new machine and couple HDDs connected outside your small computer.

  • More storage after upgrade of Sierra - yej! ... But how can I claim it?

After my upgrade to Sierra, I get the report attached when you click info on my HD.

It is said that there are 158 GB that can be deleted - how can I do this? Where are these files?

I'd love to get this if possible storage space.

    I hope someone can help

Click the  menu in the upper left corner of the screen. Select "at about this Mac".

In the comments Panel click on "Storage", then on the button 'manage '.

The Panel to manage, click on "recommendations" in the sidebar.  Use the last option "reducing clutter" - press the button "Review files" to see the files that can be removed.

  • When I turn off the option "optimize the iphone storage" in iCloud photos, made my phone automatically re - download all my photos/videos in my phone again?

I used the option "optimize the iphone storage" on my old phone to save space, but I hated waiting to load when I want to watch them. Now, I clicked on "Download and keep the originals", but I can't tell if my phone is re - download the original photos/videos to iCloud to my phone. What does automatically or are these pictures forever in the version "optimized" on my phone?

Subsequently, it must download the originals. Synchronization is VERY slow, so it may take some time depending on how many photos you have.
