Measure the performance of machines windows 8 on windows Performance Toolkit (tool WPR)

I want to create the basis of performance for windows 8 machines (such as the time of winlogon, time of start of office and total etc..). For this I used windows performance toolkit - WPR tool for recording or log performance (scenario of starting) data in the log file (.etl). I opened the ETL file generated using WPA (windows performance monitor), in the section dedicated to the process, always I am able to see winlogon.exe and explorer.exe lasting more than 2 minutes on different machines. When I did for windows XP(using xperf) machine winlogon.exe showing always within 30 seconds.

Can you please let me know how I can get the correct data for the following WPR tool:

(1) time to Winlogon (winlogon.exe)

(2) time to Desktop (explorer.exe)

(3) total boot time

  • Windows Experience Index problem: could not measure the performance of video playback

My pc is not yet rated. When I click on rate appears on this computer, a msg error saying that Windows Experience Index for your system could not be calculated, could not measure the PERFORMANCE of VIDEO PLAYBACK. What should I do. Help, please

    Hello

Here are a few things to check before launching performance index Windows (WEI).

    • Quit all running programs, and restart the computer before running the assessment (WEI).
    • Check with the manufacturer of the computer or the motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates.
    • Make sure you have the latest Windows 7 compatible drivers for the graphics device installed (video card).
    • If you have any third-party media players installed, uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.
    • If you have installed any third-party Media Codecs, try to uninstall them until the end of the evaluation of the WEI.

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\WINDOWS\Performance\WinSAT .

You should see the following 8 videos.

    2 files with .mp4 extension.

3 files with the .mpg file extension.

3 files with .wmv file extension.

Double-click each of these files. They should open and play in Windows Media Player. These are the files that WEI runs video performance.

One thing to remember is that the WEI score is only an indicator of the ability of the main components of hardware on the computer. It has no effect on the performance of the system.

    Tell us what you find.

First of all I'm new to the forum, Please warn me if I posted in the wrong section, or did something wrong.

I have a laptop, (x 86) Win7 Home Premium. Before posting, I tried everything Microsoft sugguests and nothing will do, as the update of the graphics card, etc. WEI did not work as usual today, I got the problem said: could not measure the performance of video playback.

    Please help, THX 1 billion

    Hello Derek,.

Please keep us updated on the status of the issue.

I'm sorry for the late reply.

The IFE can be used to show what part of the system should provide the largest increase in performance when it is upgraded. For example, a computer with the lower under-score in his memory, would benefit more than an upgrade of RAM to add a faster hard drive (or any other component).

  • 500 Dignostics Performance event. could not measure the performance of video playback

    Hello

Could someone help me with the problem of (the windows experience index) when I run the assessment I get the message (could not measure the performance of video playback).

    Hello

    ·         You have made no changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

    ·         What is the full error message or code that you get?

Event ID 500 is mainly caused by the excessive use of graphical subsystem, which is controlled by the process dwm.exe. DWM.exe is a Desktop Window Manager and is responsible for the graphics effects in Windows operating system such as 3-d effects, previews of windows and transparencies to windows live.

I suggest to disable all of the features of "Aero", such as the use of classic Windows rather than the Windows Aero feature, stopping using 3D desktop and so on, in order to reduce excessive system resource occupancy rates. If possible, you could develop RAM to increase performance of the system to check if the event has not changed.

You can also try to update the graphics driver and check if it helps. To do so follow the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

  • How to measure the performance of the disks in vcenter

    Hey guys,.

What is the best way for me to measure the performance of the disks in vcenter? I use the iscsi SAN storage for my environment vsphere and wants to make sure that things are defeated.

Y at - it a good way for me to measure this inside of vcenter, if what should I pay attention to the?

    Thank you

Performance, Advanced tab, storage card, chart options.

Here you can select your storage cards and view certain measures. To also have historical data (and not only in real time), you will need to change the settings of his stats in vCenter server.

Or select a disc, and here you can see, for example the latency time.

  • Information on the performance and tools: Visual effects adjust - adjust for a performance/appearance: influence on the photos and video?

When I enter: Information on the performance and tools: Visual effects adjust - adjust for a performance/appearance, it affects pictures and video? What is the display of the video?

I really like what I see with better appearance. But my laptop is slow a little, and I get this Green spinning circle and programs not opening.

But since I intend to make some photos and video editing in the computer and watch a few videos, I wondered if the work will be compromised.

I have a few tutorials to speed up my laptop, but can someone also suggest to speed up my laptop here? I'm always willing to learn some things.

    Hello

You can optimize the performance of different options in the information on the performance and the tool window. This will not affect the performance of the images and videos. Adjust for best appearance to set the computer to enhance the appearance, it allows many features aero that improves the display quality of the computer.

To optimize the performance of the computer follow the steps provided in the link below and check if that helps:

  • Different drag / drop behavior of the mouse on different users on the same virtual machine Windows 10 Pro accounts

I just upgraded to 8.1 on Mac OS X 10.11.3 Fusion "El Capitan" on a new iMac 27-inch 5K retina. The guest operating system is a new virtual machine Windows 10 Pro. I have two user accounts on the virtual machine, my local administrator account and another account local standard user. When I am logged into my account, I am able to drag and drop files to and from the guest to the normally Mac OS. As the mouse moves freely between the guest OS and the Mac. However, when I connect using the standard other account, I can't drag - move to and from the guest for the Mac OS. Also once I click into the virtual machine the mouse movement is limited to the virtual machine until I have press the buttons on the Mac to free the movement of the mouse to the Mac. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the vmware tools but the same behavior persists. Any ideas on a solution and why these two users accounts would act differently?

Just phone with the help of VMware. They solved the problem in uninstalling and reinstalling VMware tools and change the following VMware Fusion preferences-> preferences-> General-> Gaming: to 'Never mouse optimize for games '. It has been set to 'always optimize the mouse for games '.  After that drag & drop, mouse movement works smoothly and perfectly now. Thank you VMware support!

I do not know; I don't check the newspaper.

    But, my problem was solved.

I made two changes before it was fixed.

First of all, I added more RAM. But this was not (directly) affect or correct the problem.  In addition, I was running the same amount of RAM (2 GB) before without problem.

Second, following the second installation I had made another change.  I had created a virtual disk and put the TEMP folder.

The problem went away (performance index worked) after I changed the place of C: TEMP.  But, I also tested with her to the RAMDISK and it works.  However, after that I set the TEMP to C:\, I also increased the size of the Ramdisk of 350 MB to 1 GB.  It works fine now.

So, maybe this might help someone.  Better than I could understand, the ability of the TEMP folder was too small for the test to be performed.  This seems to be the most logical explanation (by simple deduction).

I'd be curious to know if others had the same problem and the solution.  Or, if one solution.  At least, I would have more certainty as to the cause of the problem.

  • Measure the performance for the development of BB

    Hello guys '

I want to know how the application performance is and how the CPU usage memory usage.

Actually I don't know any BB development tools to measure.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    TNX'

Deepesh is correct suggest using the Profiler.  You will find information on the use of the Profiler using the JDE.  You can find also some information about this and some very useful information in this video:

  • In the Windows, the view index and print System Information on the performance and tools open in Notepad with corrupt text

How to convert information into readable text?

I have the same files.  No error reported road.  Have Windows Update set to automatic. and I checked all the drivers manually in the Device Manager.
