Media Center TV error: not detected IR receiver.

I plugged properly the IR cable (and the "pouf"), but I can't turn my TV through Media Center.  I keep getting the error message: IR hardware not detected.     It worked fine until I had to have a new hard drive installed, with media Center - the XP version - need to be resettled.

  • ... My fact computer receive TV (via S-video) signal.
  • And I am convinced that I have the IR cable is connected directly over signage to distance from the box by satellite.
  • My IR equipment was purchased with my computer, via the gateway.  The IR has a name brand on the back, called "SMK".
I honestly don't care even if the remote control work-I just want to be able to watch (and record) the TV via my computer.   - But I can't complete the configuration of the TV, it me stops with this error message every time.
Help someone?  Please?

Thanks for the ideas.  In the meantime, I found a way around, by attaching listeners both ports the pouf - and through various tests, I managed to fool my computer allowing me to configure the TV manually, at least partially.  It is not completely functional - that I can't control my receiver via my computer... but I never able to do this, even if my computer has been directly from the factory.  (and Yes, I have the little 'eye' attached directly above 'eye' on my receiver).  ... At this point, I was kinda afraid to throw my current settings.  But I'll keep your suggestions in case I have have other difficulties or be too frustrated with my set-up.

Thanks much for the thoughts!

  • Windows Media Center TV tuner not detected

My current operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
    (I installed SP2 from microsoft.com)
I have the Version of the Windows Media Center - Windows Vista 6.0.6002.18030 software (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357).  I'm trying to watch TV on my laptop.  I have Windows Media Center and am confused about the version because I saw this - if the version number is 6.0.6001.18000, you are NOT running Windows Media Center TV Pack.  You are running the version of Windows Media Center, which is included in Windows Vista or in Windows Vista SP1.

As you can see my version (numbers) are alittle different on the end, also the info in parentheses (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357) I don't know what that means.  When I tried to configure the tv signal in Windows Media Center, I was told: the TV signal cannot be configured because no tv tuner hardware was detected. So, how can I find out if there is an internal tv tuner installed and everything is not detected?  My laptop is new - 3 weeks, and I think that all the drivers are current.   While they inspected the help windows vista hardware compatibility list for 64-bit vista tv tuners, I was flooded for more information that I knew what to do with.  I'm obviously not a computer genius and will never be.  I'm open to suggestions.  I just need to know what I have to do to be able to watch TV on my laptop.  Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.

  • E9150T - Windows 7 Media Center - IR hardware not detected

Hello.  I finished the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 earlier today.

While the upgrade went OK, Media Center can't access hardware IR for a reason any.

I always get the IR hardware not detected error message.

I do not anything with the prior agreement of material or after the upgrade.

I'm running on an E9150T and I think IR's eHome Infrared Receiver via USB.

Any help is appreciated as I did not find anything Googling for the last two hours.

Problem seems to be resolved.  Do not know which of the following has solved, but I made the following two tasks:

    1. connect a second infrared device on the second port of the IR Blaster.  Previously, it was empty.  Alone, this does not solve the problem.

    2. the system to reboot.

3 went through a detailed set / Media Center, and simple configuration.

Alto!  The IR Blaster seems to work now...

  • Windows media center ir hardware not detected units

    Hi all

It's my whole first time attempt to install a tv tuner and set up and I have difficulties. I try configuring a hauppauge hvr 1850 in windows media center on windows 7 64 bit. My TV provider is directv and windows media center detects my decoder when it searches for tv signals. It does not detect my tv tunter as well, but he says no signal and I have to configure manually. After you manually configure my tv tuner, I get another message saying "ir hardware not found." I tried a lot of workarounds and none of them does not seem to work, I have a windows media center certified remote provided with my tv tuner and I can control everything in windows media center, but it stops said ir hardware not detected. I need help serious because I am running out of options. Does anyone use directv on this particular tv tuner?

Have you downloaded Windows Media Center remote control receiver/blaster configuration utility?

Go through the procedure step by step, as described in the following article: -.

  • Windows Media Center IR hardware not detected

Hi, I'm stuck at the 'IR Hardward not detected"when you try to set up the TV.

I am in Australia and have a wireless component gets my digital signal in another room.  www.cocoonsystems.com.au I run a Haupaggue (spelling?) TV tuner.  The TV tuner may display the signal from my cocoon via its product called WinTV.  It is consulted on the Composite connection.  (PC is a new computer from Dell with Vista desktop loaded)

So, when I go to configure Media Center to see the signal as I do the following:
    1. set up TV signals
    2. Australia region
    3. choose antenna
    4. Select digital terrestrial
    5. Select Yes (for the view through a decoder, because the other option does not find my signal)
    6. He found the photo and playback of the sound by means of Composite 1, so I select it
    7 IR hardware not detected.

Media Center doesn't let me step by-pass 7 if I don't have an infrared connection.  I have no need of my PC to change the channel because I use the remote control digital TV to change the channel through the Cocoon system.

Is there a way someone knows I can work around that this troublesome matter of IR hardware not detected?  I can only assume if I had my video camera connected through the Composite connection I would have the same problem too, because that was not a remote control.

    What can I do?

    Balibooblue,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

The only way I know to bypass the need for a hardware device to IR during the installation of Media Center to watch TV is to use a "virtual" infrared device  There is one called "Vista MCE IR Blaster" is a file that you download from the Internet that simulates an infrared device.  You will need to do a search for it.  Or you can buy the hardware Media Center application relatively cheaply online, on the USD $20.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Windows Media Center gives error wmp.dll

Original title: Windows Media Center - Vista - does not - please help!

Hello.   We had a problem with Windows media center after the SP2 update.   We tried a few workaround solutions, and now we get the following error: "C:/windows/system32/wmp.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact system support".  I was unable to find a download for Windows media center in Vista.  Can you help me?

    Hi EricLarson_CL,

Method 1: Perform the analysis of System File Checker (SFC) that might help you resolve the issue.

To determine if the problem you are experiencing is caused by one or more system files that are used by Windows Vista, run the System File Checker tool. The System File Checker tool analyzes the system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
    2. right click on cmd in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
    3. at the command prompt, the following line, and then press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow

Follow the instructions in the link below for more information on scan SFC.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212/

Method 2: You can turn off & on Windows Media Center in Windows Feature & check if the problem persists.
Turn on or off Windows features

Method 3: Try to rebuild the Media Center data store and check if it helps:
    (a) exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.
    (b) delete the mediaCenterDataStore.db file. By default, this file is located in the following location:
    %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDataStore.DB
To remove the file, follow these steps:
    (a) click Start and then click on run
    (b) in the Open box, type run and then click OK
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
    (c) in the Open box, type %systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome and then click OK.
    (d) in the details pane, right-click right mediacenterdatastore.db and then click on remove.
    (e) click Yes to confirm that you want to move the Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the trash.
    Start Windows Media Center

Note: You may not be able to download Windows Media Center for vista, but it is integrated with the operating system.
    Hope this information is useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Windows Media Center visualizations will not work

My Windows Media Center visualizations will not work for some reason any. its been like that for a while.
When I listen to music and want to see my office shows that the program is still underway
I thought it has something to do with the visualizations I instaled on Windows Media player
    (like ribbons and Upcube)
I tried to remove them, they either come back or he will constantly ask me to go to it

    my system is portable

    • Windows Vista Edition home premium

      • Intel core 2 DUO

      32-bit operating system

I missed a CD command before the directory (since corrected) so orders would be as follows:

    CD C:\program files\windows media player\visualizations\

    DIR

You'll see the DLLs listed here, they are visualizations that have been installed (if the author decided to use directory default visualizations) NOTE: there may also be cases where the author badly spelled directory visualizations and used something like "visualizations".

regsvr32.exe - u nom_fichier.dll  (use only the indicated file name that you want to remove)

  • Windows Media Center EPG does not have the correct data

Windows Media Center EPG on my computer is so ugly!

Description is separated in two, and it's always the last part that displays first, so you'll have to roll down to the bottom to read the description.

The series is difficult to use, because the series 1) is not always marked as series (so you can select 'plain' Record), and 2) the title contains often series of numbering (e.g. "the bodyguards (1:6)"), so even if it is marked as a series, it will record ever "Guards body (2:6)" or other titles (the Media Center will just try to record any episode of "Bodyguards (1:6)").

It is the broadcaster who create * data, and then displays in Media Center via Broadcasting Dataservices Ltd., or who are the last to blame?

What is MS Media Center that does not have the correct data?

I am in Denmark, if this has an impact on the response.

    Thank you and best regards!

    Hello

After you follow the instructions to repair a problem as indicated in the following thread, I now have a problem with Media Center

    https://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Office/Forum/office_2010-office_install/problem-with-grooveintlresourcedll/c12778e6-4822-4cac-ad22-6e39cd4a4180

Media Center opens OK but after the start of a string of television, immediately it is running (and still running), it produces the following error

    ehexthost.exe - incorrect Image

    ---------------------------

C:\Windows\System32\Mpeg2Data.AX is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.

I tried to remove Media Center via Add or remove programs, but the problems reoccurs. No one knows how to fix?

As I said, this is a repair through the upgrade option (Win7 64 bit).

I've sorted the DotNet question using the cleaning tool to remove all traces of the previous versions, then only the latest version. Other remedies proposed in the community forums has not worked.
