Just finished building a HTPC and installed windows 7 64-bit.  Have several problems with the media.  Media player does not open.  Media center opens and reads the DVD / CD but does not tear.  Responds with "Audio error.  The CD could not be torn. Restart media center computer.  Tried to download Media Monkey but after getting through two first guests to allow downloading, simply disappeared.  Was first successful download Jaangle but after a restart of the computer, he become too insensitive.

  • Media player for windows 7 64 bit

I bought a new PC a few months ago and it came preloaded with windows 7 and it's a 64-bit computer.  I'm reading some .wmv files and windows media player does not work.  When I double click on the desktop icon, nothing happens.  I also went in the folder where it is located and double-click wmplayer.exe and, yet again, nothing happens.  I understand that it would come as part of windows 7.  When I go on the site of microsoft for downloads support, none of the media player downloads apply to my system.

I also tried to re - run the setup.exe for wmplayer and he said that there is already a newer version, so it cannot install it.  I can't understand what I need to do.

    Hello chdk86,

First of all, I uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player to see if there is any corruption that could cause the problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

If you encounter problems with Windows Media Player, try using the troubleshooter to see if this fixes

    the problem.

Open the troubleshooter of settings of Windows Media Player by clicking the theStart button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, typetroubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Click all, and then click the Windows Media Player settings.

If the size of the .wmv files is too large, it can cause Windows Media Player to stop working.

I try and remove videos from Windows Media Player library and test to see if the size of the files could be a problem.

Please answer back with an update.

  • Windows Media Player in Windows 7 64 bit burning my playlist in the right order

Why my windows media player burn my list burned in the wrong order? NICU win 7 home prem 64 bit

    Hi Roynelson,

Check if the problem occurs on a different computer.

Method 1: You can run the Windows Media Player troubleshooting settings then try to burn files and check if it burns in a sequence.

Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter

Method 3: To work around the problem, go to the location of the files (usually I drag the music to a new folder on the desktop)

Control your music (mp3s), and number them.

Example: "stand by me" becomes "1 Stand by me" and so on.

Make sure no randomization or random playback is set to your burning software.

You can now move your music to the burning software or open the software and select the folder.

That should do it. Be sure to check all the options in the burning software.

  • Strange Lag issues on Windows vista 32-bit as well as game slow load time

OK, this is really starting to annoy me, and I would be very grateful if anyone can solve this problem for me. Well since I had my HP Pavilion Vista 32-Bit seems "randomly Lag" occasionally. For example, I'd be right on the web, and then all the computer slows down as the office. Windows and the programs seem to start to take longer to open. I reccently got a video card Nvidia GTS 250 for the game but still lags. But the strangest thing is that this problem occurs randomly. The problem seems to stop and then "randomly comes back" to happen to my PC. So far, my solution is to leave the computer alone or just leave it turned off. But the other day I left 3 days straight and did not help a bit. It was a month ago, but it was very strange. Now, he seems to be doing more often. (I do not add or download new programs recently)
It really bothers me, and I stopped buying games for my cause of PC that I rarely have the opportunity to play their cause of this problem. I know I did not describe my great problem but can someone help me please?

  • Media Center in Windows 7 64 bit does not recognize AVerMedia HD DVR

I try to use an AVerMedia HD DVR (C027) with my COX Cable HD decoder, but Media Center does not recognize as a tuner.  I had to go back to an AVerTV Combo PCIe (M780) and use the S - video input.  Of course, I lost the HD!  Help!

    Have you installed the driver?

Otherwise, visit the manufacturer's Web site and download and install the latest compatible tv tuner driver.

Do you find the tuner in Device Manager?

Start > in the start search box type:devmgmt.msc and press the Enter key.

Scroll down to sound, video and game controllers, under him do you find AverMedia HD DVR?

  • Need to "come down" to 32-bit Windows 7 (64 - bit) _

I recently got a new laptop for work (ASUS) and opted for the 64 bit version of Windows 7. Problem is that half of my programs will operate in 32-bit. I contacted the manufacturer of laptop to try to get a 32 bit disc, but they can't help me.

With regard to the programs I am running - I asked and there is no new update in the near future to allow 64-bit users.

    Send reply ASUS form:

For your problem, I am sorry to tell you that Asus does not provide this service for our customer in fact.
However, I suggest you to contact Microsoft to get more detailed information.
Sorry for the inconvenience this causes to you.

Please note, there is no way to upgrade Windows 7 64 to 32 bit, personal files, settings cannot be kept without a manual backup on intermediate storage such as an external hard drive if you have accumulated data on the system. In addition, applications and device drivers must be reinstalled and you must get the equivalent of 32-bit to 64-bit ones.

First thing I would do is run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if your system will have some compatibility issues with Windows 7 32-bit:

To get the 32-bit support, if you know a friend or colleague who has a 32-bit version of Windows 7 that is equivalent to 64-bit provided with your system, you could use it and use your product key to activate it on your system. Hi, Henrik:

Specifications of your PC seem to meet all of the hardware requirements to be able to fully run W7.

    P D 915 processor is capable of 64-bit.

    ( (4M-Cache-2_80-GHz-800-MHz-FSB http://ark.intel.com/products/27515/Intel-Pentium-D-Processor-915-)

I recommend you max on your memory to 4 GB as a 64-bit operating system requires more memory to run a 32 bit OS.

A 32 bit OS will perform better on a PC that is running less than 4 GB of memory, unless you need a 64-bit system to run 64-bit programs.

I would also start the W7 Upgrade Advisor to confirm what I posted.
