Media of the instillation of Windows that prevents me to upgrade my 64-bit windows

So I try to reinstall windows 7 using a USB key which has windows 7 pro 64-bit. My current version is windows 7 Home premium 32-bit. When I restart my computer go into the boot, menu - select boot USB device - and go through the steps of setting first base to upgrade to the new version - then after I click on install windows button pop with this error

-Compatibility report: the computer started using the windows installation media. Remove the installation media and restart your computer so that windows starts normally. Then, insert the installation media and restart the upgrade. (Do not select [Advanced] Icustom to perform an upgrade install Icustom [Advanced] a new copy of windows and deletes your programs and settings.)

Now, I would prefer if I could destroy and remove windows instillation media as he tells me to and restart everything.

Is this possible?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

You cannot switch from 32 to 64.  You have to format (erase) your whole hard drive and do a new clean install.

So, just reboot using your installation media, and then choose the custom install option when prompted.  On the next page, select your hard drive and use the button erase for formatting.  Then install and you'll be good.

So I recently decided to reinstall everything on my early 2015, 13 "macbook pro. I went to do a new install of windows 10, instead of the instillation 8.1 I had before this fresh install. Is it safe to remove just that partition?

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite Z30-A-1E9). It comes with pre-installed 64-bit Windows 8.1 home version. Whenever after a successful recovery process, the cell starts to upgrade the operating system software to Windows 10. It takes a lot of time and focusing on the material of the ultrabook. I'm looking for a recovery with Windows 10 or Windows 7 media. Is it possible to find anywhere or at least create it by myself?

Thanks a lot for your time!

The recovery image Win7 Pro does not work because your laptop is a Win8 Home Edition key.

You can block the automatic upgrade of Win10.

  • Do I need a product key after that I will be upgrading my Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Home Premium using Windows Anytime Upgrade?

I am running Windows 7 Home Basic Edition on Dell Inspiron 660 s and want to update my version of Windows to Windows 7 Home Premium and then to Windows 7 Ultimate using Windows Anytime Upgrade.I'm confused that when I will enter the Windows Anytime Upgrade key, do I need to enter after my Windows product key updated?
Another question which gives me a voltage, it is that I lose all my data on the hard drive, after that I will be upgrading my Windows?
    Looking forward to your response.

There is no Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Ultimate Anytime Upgrade package.

You have either buy an upgrade level or full version Windows 7 Ultimate retail package and use the product key as well as the Express in Windows 7 Home Edition Upgrade Wizard basic upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate.

If you use the upgrade wizard level Express with a touch of detail, your personal files, settings and installed applications will be kept.

  • During activation of Windows 8, it says that's a facility upgrade, not clean.

I have a copy of Windows 8 Pro (in his original box) and nothing in the box that contains the word "Upgrade Version" written on it. There is also nothing written on the upgrade to the product key card. However, when I did a clean install and activate it with the product key, it invites the mistake, and said that it's "install upgrade, not pure".

What am I, I guess what to do now? If I call their phone support, get it for free?

All commercial versions of Windows 8 is updated. Only the OEM System Builder License is a full version.

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

I suggest that you follow the steps, then follow the instructions in the linkmentioned below:

    a. disable the security software temporarily.

    b. remove all external connections, as this could hinder the way to upgrade.

    c. put the computer to boot:

  • Upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit in earlier upgrade Vista 32 bit OEM

I have searched this forum for an answer to my qusetion below but can't find descriobe my script, I hope someone here can help me understand if my upgrade is viable before you start along backup and the resettlement process.

I bought my PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit OEM.

When Windows 7 was launched I purchsaed the upgrade to Home Premium disc which included 32-bit and 64-bit.

At the time many applications that I used was not compatible 64 bit so I simply upgrded to Windows 7 32 bit, I activated and have used since.

I am now find my system a bit slow and the most cost-effective upgrade would be to increase my ram from 2 GB to 8 GB, but only if I can also move to 64-bit.

What I read in other posts, the upgrade disks I have purchsed enabled me to move from 32-bit Vista either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.

    My qusetion is:-

Having already made the choice to upgrade my Vista 32 bit OEM for Windows 7 32 bit and activated this version, I can now reinstall using the same product keys but this time using the 64-bit installation disk?

I hope I'm not alone here, and others will be tried this and can therefore confirm the result.

    Kind regards

    Robert

You can use the key to existing product that you originally used to install and activate the Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit.

Installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit will not necessarily make your computer faster however.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7

For information about how to modify your BIOS options to boot from the DVD drive, see the following tutorial:

    http://notebooks.com/2011/05/05/How-to-load-BIOS-and-change-boot-configuration/

Once your computer is configured to boot from the DVD, you should see this option.

    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

    Hi I'mafteru.

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

Sometimes no Microsoft programs running on the computer may cause this problem. Try the following steps:
Step 1: Check if a non-Microsoft program is causing this issue
see How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State .
    b. restart the computer and check if the problem persists. If the issue is not persistent, then from the article, follow the method 1 and method 2 to find out if any program is causing the problem.
    c. Once you have found the culprit which is the program that is causing the problem, then uninstall it or reinstall once more to solve the problem.

Note: Article, remember to follow 'steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state. "

Step 2: Remove the unwanted registry entry
    a. see the CD-R or CD-RW drive is not recognized as a recordable device
    b. follow the steps in the article, and then restart the computer.
    c. check to see if the problem persists.

Important: Modifying the registry incorrectly or remove will cause serious damage to the computer. It is recommended to back up the registry before you edit it.
