Media Player associated context menu selections does not
When right clicking on a media file and selecting Add to the playlist playlist with Windows Media Player, there is no answer. Double click on any multimedia file, no response. By selecting open with and then choosing Windows Media Player results in "the parameter is incorrect." Open Windows Media Player then playing files works fine, just context menu nonfunctional selections. Media Player is the default program for all media files and it has its flaws. By selecting open with, and then using Media Player Classic works very well. Media Center setting as default player has the same results as the definition of Media Player as the default player, namely, the context of the menu options will not work. Suggestions?
The system is Vista Home Premium SP2
Computer Dell XPS410
Unfortunately, this option is not available, as I have a copy of Vista manufacturer. I have an image backup, but it's a couple of months. Guess I'll have to bit the bullet and use it. BTW: when you use Glary Utils context menu util, I notice that menu popup media player entries are not yet there. I know than before, so something makes them disappear. I wonder if they're already coming back? Miss me them...

Find cd info in Meta services, but will not download in this player. (Firewall off the coast, all of the menus tools checked properly)
Also, after cd edition and extraction in the Rip folder manually set up in the Tools Menu, the CD files are found, but not added to the library. (Saved in files as the AMM.)

WMP12 works well but maybe 2 two problems are present in WMP12.
(1) under Tools/Options/rip music, the field "Rip music to this location" is empty. When I click on 'change... '. "nothing happens. No dialog, error or anything else than flashing button [modify...] to recognize the click. I is my places of "personal folders" on a drive other C: then, but have verified that they are mapped correctly and that the 'My music' library 'functional' and is visible via the files/manage option in WMP12 library.
(2) also under Tools/Options/rip music, ANY other changes (for example, a change to the quality slider), "will not" when you click on the [apply] button. Instead, a dialog box appears stating "ripping settings could not be applied.
Still, it was an OEM of a large enterprise version. Everything else works correctly (I am a self-proclaimed Windows guru).
I updated libraries
I have disabled WMP from the tool functions and characteristics, restarted, run a registry cleaner, reactivated and the problem persists.
I have found no way to do a clean reinstall of WMP (I won't do a full OS reinstall... too much construction work took place already).
There are several other references to this same problem within the database of MS but not hard to miracle.
Help, please. This is shaking my normal mode of operation.
This is because the directory where rip use to point to is no longer exsits. Try to redo the path were rip used to point on (no need to re - move your personnel records around simply create the path were rip stressed then you can delete it later), as soon as you have the right way, the dialogue of rip in WMP will appear again and you will be able to change it. See also this post, if I understand your Angie OP you did most of this, but see my post at the bottom might give you a clue as to have been rip said if he can't remember.

In Windows Media Player, my light "Start burn" would not light after dragging the songs on my playlist, he said only "Connect burner and restart". I have already burned a music CD "RW", why he said burner "connect"? The burner is already installed? I tried the "Device Manager" thing wasn't working, thank you for your help. "
1. have you installed any third-party DVD burning software on the computer?
2. could you give us the exact error message?
If you have installed a third-party software CD burning remove it and then try to burn the disc and check. Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

I created a DVD-video using Windows DVD Maker, and they used to play fine. Now, no matter what I try to play to play on, for example Windows Media Player, DVD player, etc., can't do the menu to answer. The menu arrives, but the play button does not respond. Help!
Is there a way to delete the menu easily and completely. Thank you.
I checked the DVD. There is no scratches and I cleaned it up to them to ensure that they do not have fingerprints, etc.. What happens to all the DVD on a PC with Vista and with Windows DVD Maker. If I'm unable to remove the Windows DVD Menu, the content of the DVD will be lost. I tried even to copy the contents of the disc on the desktop and it works from there. Same result. When I play the video, it comes to the Menu created by Windows DVD Maker. When I try to "run" the botton element or game menu, it does not. I tried several different DVD players and PCs. There must be a way to remove the menu from the video file. Let me know if you can ask a technician for an answer. Thank you.
Once a DVD is burned... you can't delete anything from him, but as you
already know... you can copy the files.
When you copied the files on your desktop you see a VIDEO_TS folder?
Open the VIDEO_TS folder and you should see VOB files... those are your
video files. If you can't play them as is... try ranaming them in MPG and
You should be able to play them in Windows Media Player.
