  This can occur if the active Windows Media Player library database is corrupted. To resolve this issue, try the following steps.
  1. Click Start, type run and press to enter.
  2. in the run box, type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto, and then press ENTER.
  3. in the window, double-click the Local Directory, double-click Microsoft and double click on Media Player.
  4 rename a file named CurrentDatabase_ (*) OLDCurrentDatabase_ (*), where * can be any number.
  5 once it is the launch and restart the media player.

• Tips on how to make Windows Media Player DVD playback are not the player of Tosh

  I don't want to use the Toshiba Media Player pre-installed to play the DVD, I want to use the Windows Media Player installed. I can't change the default to WMP in the Panel DVD player as the only options are Player Toshiba or Nero.

  WMP can play CDs, MP3 etc but cannot even play DVDs in the drive. Anyone got tips on how to change this?

  VLC Player is much better than WMP.
  This small utility of s dealing with almost all possible formats and not stress much on the hardware.

• My ongoing media player make copies of all the songs in the library.

  Everytime I open Windows Media Player for my music, I find that there are multiple copies of each song in my library. I tried to delete the extra copies but they keep coming back with even more copies and then I get a message that says that media player cannot play a song because it can't find the file. Apparently when I delete some extra copies of the file needed to play the song is deleted, I think. Why I get so the number of copies of each song and it keeps progress so that I can have 5 copies or more. Whenever I have delete songs and I come back, I think even more copies.   Looks like a corrupted media library, then I suggest that you change it. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

  

  -Restart the PC.
  -Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
  -Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
  -In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
  -Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt. Check if the problem persists. Tim Baets

• Just installed update for Windows Media Player 11 and now, all the songs I had in my library before the update, I get the message you need a license to play these songs.

  These songs have been copied to my computer from the CD that I bought at retail, and have played several times.  Is there a process where they can be reinstated? I don't know if it's the right word, but I hate having to download individual licenses for these songs. And why doesn't IE throw me on the internet as soon as the download license screen happens?  Do I have to uninstall the update?

  There are really two questions being asked here.

  The first question is to know if there are differences between the implementation of gradients in various Adobe products (and perhaps why this is the case). Assuming an affirmative answer (i.e., Yes) to the first question, the second question is what implementation or method is better (no matter what better may mean).

  Yes, there are differences in the implementation of the gradients in different Adobe products. Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics program. When you make a gradient in Photoshop, you get the actual bits representing the transition from one color to another specified. When you view or print, which is in the raster image is exactly what you get on screen or paper subject to whatever color management is in place.

  Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, although they can place to raster graphics, natively are text and vector graphics programs. When you define a gradient in one of these programs, the gradient is implemented via PDF/PostScript United shade. • Firefox manages not to display images much (but not all) on the Web sites that I visit, certain images are displayed and some are not even if they are in the same format.

Since then, I have a problem looking at many websites as much (but not all) images are missing, even on websites that I know very well, including my own. What is odd, is that on one site each page has an image jpg under the navigation bar and all these jpg appear except for one who does not even appear when I reload images.
