Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft community!
This problem occurs if a necessary codec to play the file is not installed on the computer.
- The problem occurs with all the files?
- Other files work well which is not there in the playlist?
Step 1:
Open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter
Step 2: Try to update the codecs to check if the problem persists. See the below mentioned the Windows Help article.
Codecs: Frequently asked questions
Step 3: Check if you have the latest video drivers installed on the computer. You can log on to the computer for the same manufacturer site. Also, check the latest Windows updates. Check if all related drivers are available in the optional updates.
Step 4: Adjust graphics hardware acceleration. To do this, follow these steps:
a. open the screen resolution by clicking the Start button, Control Panel, and then, under appearance and personalization, click on adjust the screen resolution.
b. click on advanced settings.
c. click the Troubleshooting tab, and then click on change settings.
d. move the hardware acceleration slider two notches to the left of Full (the Disable cursor and bitmap accelerations setting).

My computer crashes whenever I try to play a video clip from the internet. I have to disconnect the plug to escape. What can I do? Thank you
There is a lot of noise from speakers as well.
Disable the hardware accelerator or install flash player 10.

Blue death screen / system crash when you try to play the video or to copy an image from the internet
On further study, please do not go on the road to perdition as I trod.
However, to do this: go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and right CLICK on the logo that is being charged. THEN: Navigate down until "settings", click it, and you should have the choice: "disable hardware acceleration". NOTE: If you do NOT have this choice, study the icons down quickly: on MY screen, the left-most is an icon that looks like a video monitor: click on it and give you the opportunity to "disable hardware acceleration".
It works, if you can get it done before you get a BSOD! AND do not take the life of your computer in your hands by updating your video drivers. I do not really recommend doing that!

Hello
1. have you made changes on the computer recently?
Method 1.
Change hardware acceleration
You can try to change the hardware acceleration in the middle and check (you can try another level too.)
a. right click on a space empty on the desktop.
b. go to the resolution of the screen.
c. click Advanced settings, and then click the "troubleshooting."
d. set the hardware acceleration in the middle. (here you'll get the only option your video card sound support).
Method 2.
a. you can also check that Windows is up-to-date to check updates for your hardware.
You can also run the difficulty below that diagnoses and identify codecs that can cause windows to become unstable or stop responding.
http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/video_freezes_or_crashesb. if the problem persists, you can check the latest video card driver provided by the manufacturer of the PC that is compatible with Windows Vista is installed. You can also check out the article below which explains to update hardware drivers.Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

My Windows media player recently stopped playing my video files that have a. Extension of MOD, although the audio is not yet once the video is crushed. When the video freezes a computer bubble lets me know that the driver igfx has stopped working and then recovered.
I spent many hours trying to solve this problem. My graphics card is an Intell chipset and it is up to date with his driver (I checked), the motherboard is an ASUS and this is far too - I checked. I ran an auto fix and that disabled four codecs, but the problem persists. I have run the sfc / scan now processes at the prompt as an administrator and it came clear.
The problem is driving me crazy! can anyone help? When I play the video on another computer that works under XP, I have no problem.
Thank you
John.

I tried to play Candy Crush & Solitaire all day and every time I try I get a pop-up window saying I need to download a new version. I have downloaded 3 times today & reset my email and password and still can't get anything to load. What is going on???
This password is presented by your operating system and is designed to prevent you from accidentally installing the software.
If it comes to your personal computer and you don't need a password to connect to the computer when it first starts, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to go to this prompt. If it comes to your personal computer and your normal password does not work, make sure that CAPS LOCK SHIFT is off, and then type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and he asks an administrator password, well, you will need to have a conversation with your computer friendly.

But if I send the email to my yahoo account, it will open and play very well. I ran microsofts 'fix it' program many times without success. What could be wrong?
Hello Tango6,
Maybe your security software prevents this? What security software currently installed and have you tried to disable it temporarily?Given that this occurs only with your Gmail account, I'd be willing to bet that they have in place security measures to prevent reading straight out of email attachments.I would check here just to make sure that: -

I found solution 2...
Go to Firefox-> Add-ons-> Plugins-> Locate Shockwave Flash 11.3.300.257 (not 11.0.1.152) and disable it.
OR
(1) go in Control Panel-> uninstall a program-> uninstall Mozzila Firefox
(2) go in run (Windows key + R)-> Type %APPDATA%\microsoft\windows\sendto - > go to Roaming-> locate Mozilla Firefox and remove it.
3) go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox (or anywhere where you have it installed) and remove this folder.
(4) download the browser, install
(5) does not update Shockwave

Hello Jorstar1,
Thank you for your message. Windows Media Player 11 supports .avi, but compression can dictate whether he will play or not. This is very probably a Codec issue, you can perform a websearch for a Codec that will play any avi compression. Please let us know if it did or did not help to resolve this problem.See you soonEngineer Jason Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
