  Hi, first time user here. I do a LOT of pictures like "gimmies" for friends and family, especially around the holidays. My computer just planted a fit recently and don't let me NOT look at my photos. I can download them and see the photos, but as soon as I try to click again to revisit, I get the following message: HP Media Smart Photo main program has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. (Apparently it wasn't available yet!)  I tried all that I know, which isn't much I admit. I have a Geek Squad coverage but it's Christmas and they cannot get me to more important things - such as the installation of new sales. It's okay I bought two from them in two years. Lightning struck an and now I can not see pictures or do anything with photos on it. (Which means I can't order some presents that involves photos stored on THIS computer.) Can someone help me to fix my problem? I would REALLY appreciate your help! How Merry Christmas and God bless you and yours!

  The first thing I would try is to use Recovery Manager to reinstall HP MediaSmart Photo - the procedure to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

  After reinstallation is complete, restart the PC.

  When windows has completely recharged, open HP MediaSmart Photo and give it a few minutes to index all your photos again and then check if it opens correctly now.

  My HP Media Smart pictures has suddenly stopped working.  When I try to open my pictures, it stays on for a few seconds and then closes.  I think I need to re - install the Media Smart Photo software; However, I have to uninstall the old software before I can re - install.  I will not lose the pictures that I previously imported into Media Smart?

  It looks like existing MediaSmart Photo installation is damaged, but the software indexes only the pictures that are on your drive hard reader, so uninstall and then reinstall this product will not result in the loss of all images.

  Note that, once the reinstallation is complete, launch the software and let it re-index your multimedia files - this may take a few minutes depending on the number of images.

  This isn't how it's done.  There is such a file, but customizing the send option in the context menu is a little more complicated that just add entries to this file.  Here is the procedure:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67599-send-context-menu.html.  In fact, if you are interested in adding move to a folder or a copy of a folder specifically, the following article may be also useful: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/89196-context-menu-add-copy-folder-move-folder.html (even if it would be any folder and you need browse and select which one you want may not be exactly what you're looking for (although know it may be something you also want to add) but the first article will include the ability to add a folder of) specciic to send it to the menu as well as other programs and just about anything you want).

  Also another clue.  The contextual menu has more options you see when you right click on an element to access.  Try to hold the SHIFT key when right-clicking on an item and you will see an expanded list of options that can include something that willl help you.  It does not the question asked you (the first link above did that), but it is linked and I thought that I have it add in case you weren't aware, and where it is very convenient at a given time.

  I hope this helps (I'm sure it will).  A suggestion - be careful how you add to the context menu.  Not that it has a limit or something like that, but add the more you more it will be difficult to find whatever it is you are really looking for.  It is easy to get carried away and end up with a menu that is so crowded it defeats the purpose to save time with shortcuts.  Try only to add the options that you use often enough that the feature will really help you.

  Media Center does not open PDF files and PDF files have nothing to do with playback of music or videos.  Somehow, downloads do not create the appropriate file types.  Where are you these downloads?  Can you give me a website?  You want to download (images, videos, music, what)?  What version of Media Center do you use?  What version of Vista are you using?  How do you download files and if you use a browser, which is the name and version of the browser?

  Hmm, maybe this "one-time" imported into the new preference? Try this:

  (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

  (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the cust and make a pause so that the list is filtered

  (3) double-click the preference of browser.uiCustomization.state and the content must be highlighted in a small dialog box.

  (4) copy the whole line and paste it into Notepad and save it as a backup.

  (5) in Firefox, click on the button '3-bar' menu > developer > Notepad. Remove the comment that appears and paste data preferably, that must appear on a long line. Click on the "Pretty Print" button to make it more readable.

  So I hope that you can spot the extra toolbars and change them out, taking care to preserve the commas between the elements.

  I don't have the extra toolbars in mine, but I copied and pasted back this spaced format and Firefox was able to handle it well. I went into customize and moved a button, and when I left, Firefox has rewritten the preference set as a single line. Assuming that yours works fine, then you can get rid of the backup from step (4).

  You can simply plug it in, connect the external hard drive, make sure it is turned on.

  Then copy and paste on your files.
