Media using Smartphones Blackberry blackBerry on an aircraft

I downloaded some audio books to the media card on my Blackberry 9000.

If I want to listen to these on a plane, is it acceptable if I turn off "all connections" or it is not in line with the rules of aviation?

It should be good if you disable them all.

I never had a hard time to listen to music or watch a movie on a plan, but I have always used "Airplane Mode" or turn off the radio just in case.

  • Manager of media to Smartphones blackBerry SUCKS! Help

OK, so I got my Curve 8300 for awhile now. I have a Windows xp 2 gigabytes of ram and a P3 processor. I have a really decent computer that just about everything.

HOWEVER! When I load up my Desktop Manager and click on Media Manager... Media Manager runs EXTREMELY SLOW freezing often and I have to pull up the Task Manager to exit. Sometimes I'm lucky and I'm able to throw some music or pictures on my phone before he went retarded. I again as soon as I bought the phone and installed the software and saw the name Roxio I was for her. I hate all Roxio.

Anyone has any advice on improving the performance with Media Manager?

Which version of Desktop Manager you are using? If not using 4.6, uninstall the version you have currently installed by using this procedure: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206. Subsequently download 4.6 here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

There are two options to choose from, with or without Media Manager. If you decide to try the Media Manager once again you are having the same problem (can do a search on stage for the Media Manager for more information on this topic, if you choose)

No matter what version of the Desktop Manager, you choose it is recommended to buy a microSD card to store your multimedia files, if you run out of memory on your device.

According to what your BlackBerry OS is tells you what size microSD card you can buy. You can check under Options | Topic (will appear as v4.xx.xxx). Look at the table on the following link to see what size you can get - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB05461

On the BlackBerry, go to Options | Media Media Card recommended parameters are:

    Media card support: WE
    Encryption mode: NO
    Mass storage support: WE
Auto enable mass storage Mode when connected: YES

Mass storage mode allows your BlackBerry to act as an extra drive when it is connected to your PC. It will appear as an extra drive letter in Windows Explorer. If you don't need the version of Manager media Desktop Manager if you decide to go with this method, because you can just drag and drop media files on your memory card

    Hope this helps

  • Using Smartphones blackBerry - default calendar of deletion

I have an old calendar that has been on my BB9000 when I used the "device switch Wizard" I would like to delete.  I also schedule I synchronize with my desktop I want to keep.  Whenever I open the calendar on the BB, it shows the two calendars... and I want to just remove the other.

You can change the calendars in Options > Advanced > default of services.

And you can clearly fill a calendar database according to the instructions that I post here:

If you encounter errors in your calendar or address book on your BlackBerry and you want to delete the entire address book (or calendar) base on your BlackBerry, follow the instructions below. Make sure that you have a good copy of your calendar or Contacts, because this procedure will delete all the calendar entries or entries from the address book on your BlackBerry.

    1. open the Desktop Manager on your PC.

    2. open Backup/Restore > advanced.

    3. in Advanced Options, you will see a split pane screen. The left pane, it is what will be saved from your device, and the right is a list of the existing databases.

3 select right your address book database (or your Calendar database), and then click the arrow in the Middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information on and prepare it for the backup.

    4. once the backup is complete, click the button Clear down to erase, and then clean up the database of book full address (or calendar).

    5. once it is finished, it will ask you if you want to save the backup that you created, say you Yes and check the device to make sure that the address book (or calendar) has been duly cleared out. Now, Resync the necessary contact details and you should be set to go.

    Hi Timothy,.

You can use the software provided by the camera to transfer music from your device to the computer. You can consult the documentation provided with the device.

Windows Media Player is used to copy music, videos and pictures of the Player library to a portable device, such as a compatible MP3 player. See the link below

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media Sync continues to display 'Please connect a Blackberry smart phone' when the Blackberry Storm is connected to the PC

About a 2 months ago when I would like to connect my (the first storm) blackberry storm to my computer via the USB cable supplied with the phone, I was able to transfer music from my computer (itunes) to the blackberry via Blackberry Media Sync with no problems (open Blackberry Media Sync, connect blackberry to the computer via the USB port and screen Media Sync would change so that I could sync to the blackberry storm music). I didn't even have to install Blackberry Media Sync in December 2009

But now after I connect my Blackberry Storm to my computer, the screen of Blackberry Media Sync does not change and continues to display "please connect a Blackberry smartphone. I tried these tips I found online:

1.) several reboots my computer (windows vista)

2.) update/reinstall Blackberry Media Sync, then by restarting my computer

3.) reconnection from blackberry to the computer, then open Media Sync

4.) Open Media Sync first and then connect the blackberry to the computer.

5.) installation BlackBerry USB and Modem drivers (even if I can't find the USB driver for it under the Universal Serial Bus Controller when I check in the Device Manager when you go to control panel – system and Maintenance – Manager of devices, but I found a v2 COM4 and COM5 RIM virtual serial Port when you select "devices by connection" under display in Device Manager) or are RIM Serial Port virtual v2 COM4 and COM5 drivers I'm looking for?

6.) go to Options (on blackberry) - memory and make sure Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol (MTO) and Mass Storage Mode Support are resolved on 'On', the encryption Mode is set to 'None' and mass storage Mode Auto activate when connected, it the value "Prompt" although I tried to 'Yes' as well. It says I have 785 MB of memory space of the unit out of 879 MB total memory of the device and 7.1 GB of free space on a total of 7.3 GB of Media Card Media Card.

None of the above tips and troubleshooting tips worked. I also checked the Blackberry technical solution center but I've not found anything there that has contributed to the other. I found discussions forums online, including issues of people with 'blackberry media sync cannot connect to the device' pop up, but I have not had this pop-up. The Media Sync screen remains just the same as if I never connected the blackberry storm to my computer in the first place even if my blackberry storm recharges via the computer.

Is there something that I miss or have not yet done? What should I do?

Too bad. I went to a Verizon store and they me remove the battery and turn the blackberry. Worked like a charm and I can now use Media Sync.

Also told me that I need to update the software of the phone blackberry using Blackberry Desktop software (I have version 4 and need to update to 5) and make sure to choose to back up files when you are prompted during the update or you will lose all files, the media and info saved on blackberry.

  • Changing Smartphone blackBerry media card

IM changing my 2 GB card for a 16 GB media and I want to transfer everything to the new media card, but I want it in the same order. is this possible?

    Hello

Through the device, not really. Through your computer, absolutely. Your choice is:

    Mass storage mode:

    • KB11879 What is the mass storage mode
    • KB13564 How to enable or disable the mode on the smartphone BlackBerry mass storage.
    • KB29523 How to manually transfer files between a BlackBerry smart phone and a Windows computer
    1. With your 'old' in your BB card, copy everything on your computer
    2. Set up your 'new' card
    3. Format the 'new' card in the BB
    4. Copy the text from the computer to the 'new' card

Use of an adapter of your computer card reader:

    1. Remove your 'old' your BB card
    2. Use the card reader and copy the text from the old card to your computer
    3. Insert the new card into the BB
    4. Format the new card with the BB
    5. Remove the new card of the BB
    6. Use the card reader and copy the text from the computer on the new map
    7. Put the new card in the BB

    Good luck!

Maybe you have installed Blackberry Desktop Manager without Media Manager.

I don't use Media Manager, because it is slow, buggy and unreliable.

I use my blackberry as a usb flash drive. It is much more convenient than using Media Manager.
