Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro 5855 - delete the recovery partition?

I just bought a place 8 Pro 5855. I did a recovery USB disk. I was wondering if there is a way to remove the recovery partition so that I can retrieve this internal storage space. I could try something like EaseUS or MiniTool, but I was wondering if there was another way that I wasn't aware of. Is there a reason why I should not delete the recovery partition? Thank you!

This is how I did it:

1. run Diskpart (from Run or CMD prompt), don't worry he'll ask the elevation to Admin

2. type: select disk 0 (main SSD)

3. type: list of partition (to see the available partitions)

4. type: select the partition 6 (my recovery partition, yours may be different)

5. type: delete partition replacement (deletes the partition 6)

6. type: select partition 5 (my Windows, to the area to recover partition deleted)

7. type: extend (retrieves the space)

8. type: exit

It worked for me on the DV8P 5830.

  • Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro + Windows 10 + No Sound Drivers OK

Does anyone else have a problem with their coming 8 Pro?  I have upgraded to Windows 10 and everything seemed fine, then a few days ago the sound has stopped working.  The sound icon had a red in the taskbar as if 'X' cut and I couldn't turn on the sound.  The scroll bar does not, even on the physical switches.

I unloaded the driver and rebooted and it seemed to accept and had no errors in Device Manager (I tried both later and regressed to a previous version of the driver... no luck).  The slider bar has worked and it was reactivated without doubt.  I did a test in the sound setting menu, and he reported that he was unable to play.

So I did a factory restore Dell Windows 8 and the sound is back.  So good, it was not a hardware problem.  But we have all found their fair will stop working on Windows 10 (worked great for a few months now)?  I don't have my heart set to level my meeting place for 8 to 10 Windows because everything I do on this machine is to surf the web, but I think it will be a possibility.

This true isn´t at all. I found a workaround. I downloaded the Dell booth 8.1 Windows

then I went to the Device Manager and clicked on both devices under "Audio - video - and Gamecontroller" the names of these two devices are 'Intel ESS Audio Device (WDM) and "IS2 Realtek Audio Codec".

Do right click go to properties and chose to update the drivers

    Choose "desktop search".

    Choose "from the list.

    Choose "install device".

Now search for Drivers for Win 8.1 in the cabin - you should probably remove it with software like 7zip

    '5830-win8.1-A06-KY92D.CAB\5830\win8.1\x86\chipset\PKVD4_A05-00\Drivers\Audio\ '.

Here you can find the files INF. choose them, install it and restart your computer. Do the same for devices stand in Manager.

After that, you can see two drivers if by clicking on choose in the list as in the screen above. Ensure that you have chosen the one of 22.11.2013.

Now you should make it sound now, from time to time, it is necessary to reinstall the 2013, but it works fine for me now.

In constance. His important force windows to use this old pilot, only try to install a new and chose that an older version causes windows always using the new driver for windows 10.

  • Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro - where is preinstalled Microsoft Office?

I recently took a tablet of Dell place 8 Pro 64 GB (model 5830). That's great, but it was announced on the box as having Microsoft Office Home Student Edition 2013 pre-installed, but I can't.  All I can find is a tile of start menu to buy Microsoft Office 365.

How and where can I get the free version of Microsoft Office Home 2013 which was announced?

    Thank you.

I just checked my box again.  It came in a transparent plastic bag, approximately 5 "square.  The Interior is a brochure with instructions in some 50 languages.  The cover of the booklet has the key activation/product on the outside label.  I saw this label first, and tried to enter the label bar code which is glued to the outside of the package.  It's probably why I had a problem.

Is the part that I forgot when I answered you, there was also a paper in the called package, Dell Software Installation Guide.

He is told to go to office.com/getoffice or click here for Office 2013, where 'Click here' as a link points in an image of a window (which I assume you would see if you clicked on the desktop on the splash screen).

The link to be click on says "already purchased a different version of Office?

That link above are (?) figure: "I already bought Office 2010", 'Go to the Office purchases online' and "Try office free for a limited time".

Hope that you do not lose this small label/certificate with the activation code, but as I said, he finally just asked my Microsoft account number.

  • Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro - retain charge / turn on?

I got this tablet 7 months ago. I barely used it. I went to turn it on after in plugging it up to charge and nothing.

The screen is black. Load cookies are the only things that actually work.

He'll turn for an orange to white. And he's going to act like he is in charge, but once I have the disconnect, the entire Tablet is dead.

He has been in charge for DAYS and no luck.

I'm very aggravated by the present.

I hope someone can give me a help?

I tried now pressed the power button several times repeated other positions, and that did not help.

    Thank you-

    Hi James,

I'm sorry to know that your question has not been resolved.

  • Meeting place for Dell 11 Pro 7130 power button / stop does not work

I just bought this camera and can not get the power button to turn on the screen and off as suggested by the manual should be possible.  If I press and hold the power button then it made a stop hard and if I held down when turned off it will vibrate for a second and then turn on, but a short press does nothing when Windows is running.

Tried short diagnostics and no problems found. Updated the BIOS to the A13, the drivers updated to the latest versions of all available installers, updated firmware screen scanner and camera. I saw a post from early 2014 with the same question where someone suggested to put it off to quick start, but that has not changed anything either. All Windows updates have been applied.

How can I get the power button to work?

If after trying a few things more that I decided to give at the moment and made a sweet sleep on the desktop shortcut, so I had a quick way to get at least the screen turns off. The command to execute is: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState 0,1,0

This seems to be more than Hibernate because it should boot from the bios whenever it turns on (although the arguments given him say no to the hibernation), but it was better than nothing.

I tested it worked a few times then rebooted the system. When I did this he decided to install updates which he said yet that all were waiting. When he started upward the power button now works.  I don't know what has changed or if the execution of the order makes a difference, but at least it works now.

  • Meeting place for Dell 8 Pro

I have what I think, a newspaper really stupid in the name.  I could never think of him.  I tried to find out if I can change but have not found a way.

My only thought is to create a new account on the table and remove the account "stupid name."

Someone at - it another idea or advice?

  • Meeting place for DELL Pro 8 - option missing sleep after updated

I own a DELL Pro 8 meeting place. After updating drivers, the tablet will not sleep and pressing the power button is no longer in the Tablet 'SLEEP' mode.  SLEEP option is completely missing the Tablet remains on constantly even when not used.

The updates that I applied are

    Pilot series Intel Atom Z3000

    Running reliable engine Driver Intel

5570 WWAN and GNSS (GPS) Driver Wireless Dell Mobile Broadband

    I've found a workaround.

I found that disable driver Wirless 5570 Mobile broadband device Windows re-activates the SLEEP feature Manager.  This would indicate that the problem is with the driver 5570 Wireless.  I tried to downgrade to a previous version of this driver, but Mobile broadband will completely stop working.

I suppose that others have the same problem, if you have not applied the latest updates and a meeting place for Dell Pro 8 with a card 3G it would be a good idea to not update drivers at this time.

In the end, I updated the Windows operating system files and installed A03.  Could not get A04 or A05 works not at all.

It is clear that these updates have not been tested on the site of Dell Pro 8.  I highly recommend to avoid updating the driver for the card 3G until an adjustment for the driver of the object is released.

The reality is that Dell has released a product with a digital pen that does not work properly and use a 3G card that does not work properly.  In general I would avoid Dell Windows tablets in the future, if you do not have to use Windows 8.1 I would recommend that you buy an Apple iPad.

The iPad is a fantastic table.

  • Format HARD drive, delete the recovery partition and recover with disc

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite C660D-17F and want to format my HDD, remove the recovery partition and recover the preinstalled Windows 7 and other software. I don't want to keep my own data, which are all stored already, I just want to be sure I can safely restore preinstalled stuff. I have a few questions that I need help to clear up before I go ahead.

Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition? If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?

I found [this post | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/items/faq/71] which explains the recovery process. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that? It will restore the OS and the software for the backup of dvd drive? Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?

    Added SIDENOTE:
I actually prefer to be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I'm after. Or is there a way?

Sorry, I know that was a long post, but I want to be sure of what will happen BEFORE I'll and spoil things! :) If you got this far, thanks for reading. :)

    Hello

I will try to offer help. ;)
    > Am I right in thinking the dvd recovery disc I made when I got to my laptop has all the software and drivers that I need on this subject, the same that would have the recovery partition?
Yes. Saved on recovery discs recovery image contains the operating system, all necessary drivers, specific Toshiba and utility tools and some additional software.
    > If I do another room to spare in now just to be sure only will they have the out-of-box default stuff: OS, software and drivers on any of my data?
Preinstalled Toshiba Recovery creator make recovery disc that includes the recovery image only. It has nothing to do with your personal data.
    > I found this post that explains the process of recovery. If I select "Erase the hard drive" (so I can wipe my hard drive and delete the recovery partition too) what happens after that?
After that, you should use recovery disks created for the recovery image installation.
    > Will the process after that recreate a recovery partition (which I don't)?
When you use the recovery disc for your laptop recovery image installation will have factory settings which include the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. To be honest I do not understand why you do not want to have this recovery image on the HARD drive. This allows the installation of recovery using recovery of HARD drive option. But of course you can delete it later for more free space on your HARD drive. Installation image that you can always use created for recovery discs-recovery DVDs.
    > I'd really rather be able to choose what programs preinstalled settle after that I have format, but I'm guessing that probably isn't possible and will settle for install everything and remove what I don't want after
    Fix.

Good luck and if you have any other questions feel free.

  • Satellite P855 and Win8 - would like to delete the recovery partition

In fact, I would like to remove the recovery on my new P855 Satellite partition using diskpart. Now I have some problems/uncertainty (of course I have already created the recovery DVDs):

1: when I look in Disk Management on my Windows 8, there are 2 recovery partitions! a small beginning of the disc (450 MB), a bigger at the end of the disc (8,66 GB). I'm a little confused about this. There is not usually a single recovery partition? Are - this two recovery partitions from toshiba for windows 8?

2: I read somewhere that it can occure problems with the system by deleting the recovery partition. is there a risk if I delete the above two recovery partitions? (not to mention that I don't have the recovery of files on the hard drive more) May - so that it affects the stability or the ability of the system?

As I don't want to take the risk, I crash my system, I hope that someone knows about it!

    Thank you guys

    see you soon
    kDar

And why you want to delete the recovery partition?
Its best to leave it as it is in case, you want to retrieve the computer laptop back to factory settings.

    > 1: Whe I look in Disk Management on my Windows 8, there are 2 recovery partitions! a small beginning of the disc (450 MB), a bigger at the end of the disc (8,66 GB). I guess that one was created by Win 8. It contains the files to fix the system in case something would be a mistake of the last partition seems to be Toshiba that contains the recovery image files.

    > 2: I read somewhere that it can occure problems with the system by deleting the recovery partition. is there a risk if I delete the above two recovery partitions? (not to mention that I don't have the recovery of files on the hard drive more) May - so that it affects the stability or the ability of the system?

Deletion of partition of Toshiba should not (usually) affects the ability of the system to the laptop, but nevertheless, you must create a recovery disk before you remove anything on the HARD drive.
The recovery disc will return to the factory settings in case, that the system could be confused to the top.

  • Satellite L745: I deleted the recovery partition. What can I do now?

I bought a new laptop l745 and I found two hidden partition, I think that the recovery partition is only one. so I deleted the other
After that, I tried doing a recovery on DVD but I got a message "no recovery on the HARD drive" or something like that

How can I restore my recovery partition?
    :)

You cannot restore the recovery partition. It can be restored if you use the DVD of initial recovery for the installation of the OS. In this case, everything will be like before.

You created the recovery DVDs until you have deleted the recovery partition?

  • HP Envy Pheonix - move or delete the recovery partition

I just bought a HP Envy Pheonix 800 and there a 120 GB ssd for the OS.  Ago a second partition that is for recovery that is as I wish to move or to get rid of so that I can have the other space available for files such as 120 GB can fill up pretty fast.

If I create a defined backup drive I'll be able to get rid of this partition and it is part of c:?

Or can the partition be moved safely to the other HD without any problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Marc

    Hello

As long as you create your recovery media set - see link below-, so it should be no problem deleting the partition (moving it usually breaks its functionality).  If you need to use the recovery media to perform a 'factory Reset', this process will reinstall the OS and recreate all of the original scores, including recovery D.

Create recovery media - Windows 8.

About the removal of the recovery partition, you can often do this through the application Recovery Manager as shown in the HP document on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810279

If this option is not available, you can simply delete the recovery Partition using Windows Disk Manager and extend c in the unallocated space.

It is running Windows Pro 64-bit 10.

It was definitely a hardware problem. I sent it to Dell and they replaced the motherboard.
