Memphis B-mother Board's SATA ports

I'm a 700-310xt system with a motherboard of Memphis b which is equipped with 5 SATA connectors. I currently have 2 internal hard drives and internal optical drive. I should any problem by adding a 3rd internal HD and a second optical drive internal.

Hello @KB41,

I understand that you are looking to add a third hard drive and a second drive to your home PC HP ENVY 700-310xt. As it is a computer CTO, you had options when choosing the power so delivery I providing information for you to keep in mind. When you install a graphics card, everyone knows that it needs to keep in mind the power as it consumes a lot of power, but other devices consume energy as well and I would recommend that if you want to add additional hardware to your computer that you keep in mind power requirements. As you do not add a graphics card at this moment that I advise you to make sure you have about 100-150 watts above what your graphics card need right now for the additional hardware and keep in mind if you don't ever upgrade the graphics card.

Otherwise, I can't anticipate every question will be who you add hardware that currently you're curious about.

I hope this helps. Have a great day and thanks for posting your question on the Forums of HP. Have a great day!

    Hello again,

    Yes, the paper suggests so.
But if you have just one hard drive that it doesn't matter at all.

However, if you have several hard drives connected, you must use port 0 for training with the operating system installed on.

  • PowerEdge 2900 on board sata ports

I have a PowerEdge 2900 server and would like to put in a single spare 2 TB SATA for additional storage (non-critical).  The motherboard has two onboard SATA, A & B ports.  When I try to connect the drive onboard SATA ports, the BIOS does not detect anything, and when I change the type 'Auto', save the settings and restart settings are not stored in the BIOS.

I don't know if the SATA motherboard ports supports hard drives, or if there is other reason things do not work.  I tried different cables and tried the drive in another computer, and everything works fine in another computer.  Plan to put in some additional SAS drives in the drive box, I'm looking for an intermediate solution.

    Any help is appreciated.

I've seen this same problem and fixed it. He must go to "Shipped" in the bios and enable "Onboard Sata".

  • SATA ports on MS-7613 motherboard (HP G5370uk desktop PC)

    Hello world

I have a PC HP G5370uk desktop (but with processor i5, new graphics card, and improved memory).  My next planned upgraded is a SSD and Windows 8.  I know the different shift than the races of motherbard SATA2 3 Gb/s, so I won't get all the benefits of a 6 GB/s SSD, but I'm happy with that for now.

It's the map page mother HP http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02014355

My question is, when I watch the news (from HWiNFO64) SATA, it is said there are #0 à #5 SATA ports, but I see only 4 ports on the motherboard.  And he also said that they run interface speeds.  Is down to devices that I've connected, or will they run all 3 Gbit/s, no matter what I plug into wise SSDS.  If this isn't the case, that plug in to for best results.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice you can give

    Sean

The jury only has 4 ports of 3 Gbit/s SATA2, numbered from 1 to 4 according to the scheme.

  • Can I use the SATA port connected to an optical drive to plug in a hard drive?

I have a Pavilion e9270t desktop, Win7 Pro SP1, and I want to connect 3 HARD drive to the motherboard. Can I do this? Can I use the SATA port connected to an optical drive to plug in a hard drive?

    Thanks, CHemming

    CHemming,

I've not seen UEIF support in the existing BIOS.

If your demand on a 3T led, re - consider a maximum of 2 T.

If you ask to have 3 hard disks, then you can do it without harassing the present cable of CD.

The cage of your system hard disk will support 3 hard disks. Manual upgrade service

All you need are the SATA data and power cables. Your Board has 4 SATA data ports.

When you report back after inspecting your system for SATA power cables, I will move the cables and adapters, if necessary.

  • SATA ports enable Compaq Bios Rev 3.15 Presario1230NX

This model motherboard has two SATA ports. I am looking for options to enable them. According to the HP download site, I use the latest version of the BIOS. The ports there just for decoration, or are they useful?

    SeattleSam.

Many sleepless nights is early and extensive reading. You can not have both Sata and IDE controllers active.

    (1) ATTENTION: This Board only supports the Sata150. You must provide a rider and the value of the player Sata150.

This means that you must purchase a Sata150 and Sata300 drive (with a rider).

    (2) you must use the IDE emulation

Tested a PCI controller card, but it has been discovered at startup, or by the operating system. Having checked that the PCI slot is enabled in the BIOS settings.

    Question:

Which controller card will work? Any suggestions? I could order one of HP?

If you just need a data reader, use an external USB 3.0 to Sata Drive enclosure.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9120y PC with mother board M2N78 - LA.  When it is turned on, it goes to the initial power of HP on screen (ESC, F10, F11 & F9) and stays there. PhilmoIBM,

There are several revisions of the Council M2n78 - LA. (like LasVegasWireMan) would testify. What is happening is the NVidia chip controller fails. You said "the only time I could get F10. She showed no boot device. "   That really explains it. Your motherboard is bad.

I worked to create the list, but it never gets done.

This series of motherboard has been installed in many different models of HP computers. There are problems.
