MEMRY update for HP ENVY 15-j017cl

I have a HP ENVY 15-j017cl laptop and I want a bar of 8 GB memory to two 8 GB sticks so I have 16 GB of ram which is the maximum supported according to the manual, but I can't find anywhere what kind of sticks of memory supported by this laptop. I know it takes DDR3-1600 (PC3 12800) but I can't find the calendar, case latency or voltage than it requires.

As suggested,

If DDR3L, RAM voltage of 1.35v compatible processor ultra low voltage is available,

You won't get DDR3L RAM with 1.5V in the market.

It can be used for the purchase of an identical CASE of your current RAM latency can be determined by CPU - Z application:
http://www.CPUID.com/softwares/CPU-z.html

The majority of the available RAM on the market with this frequency & power for laptops, have an identical latency

So no need to search specifically for that.

Thank you

  • HP ENVY 15-j007cl: AMD Radeon HD 8650 G update for HP ENVY 15-j007cl

For a few years now, I've owned an HP ENVY 15-j007cl (not the touchscreen version). For most all my purposes, the laptop works very well. This includes almost all the PC games that I am committed to.  This laptop has a processor AMD A10 - 5750M 2.50 GHz with an AMD Radeon HD 8650G integrated graphics card graphics card. This card can run almost anything on middle/low graphic... almost.

Now here's the crazy thing. I swear that when I bought this laptop, something that came with it said that it was possible to update or add an additional graphics card. This isn't an easy feat for most laptops I have ever been. I wonder if someone can confirm that it is possible on this model, and if so, the recommendations would be welcome.

This is definitely a safe assumption - sorry not to be more clear!

The vast majority of laptops have graphics integrated without space for additional cards, which means replace the processor in order to improve their graphics.

There are actually ways to add a graphics card with external adapters, but these are really is only useful if you try to add an additional screen. This article at PC Advisor covers this topic: LINK

Your machine was built before 2015, so the opportunity to upgrade wirless card is very thin votes to zero. But its Service and Maintenance Guide (page 4), it has aerial support for 802.11a/b/g/n with 2 × 2 MIMO support even with standard n, you are still very good speed.

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver update for HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ENVY Phoenix 810-135qe desktop computer, during a performance of the construction in the auditor of updates to HP program that it is announcing the following update available for my machine and I was wondering if there were more details about what he actually did and/or updates/patches?

    Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

    Description
This package provides the driver for Intel Chipset SATA RAID solutions and SATA AHCI Controller in models supported that are running a supported operating system.

As you can see the description of correction and improvement really provided no details as to what is fixed or improved.

If I need to apply this patch, it would be nice to understand a little better what to expect and what is fixed and/or improvements.  You have to forgive me because I'm old school and I usually generally follow the routine "if it ain't broke don't fix it".  I'll do what it takes well so I have a better understanding of what is going to happen in the case where updating mess something inadvertently.

    Thank you

    Hello:

What is the technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology software.

    http://www.Intel.com/support/chipsets/IMSM/sb/CS-020784.htm

It is not necessary to install the update if you do not want.

I doubt you will notice a difference in performance if you have it installed.

It is unlikely that all the problems would result in the update (however could apply Murphy's law), but like you said... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Hello, I have a Hp envy 15-3005tx and that you have recently updated my bios to the newest f.09 which fixed a few problems I had with my laptop for example. strike issues, their "cool-presence '.

Never, since the update, I didn't no question strikes or coolsence hogging cpu BUT Ive had a huge problem with my graphics card. I can't be sure if its exactly my graphics card, but when I play a decent game (FarCry3, BF3) it has massive frame rate problems.

Today ive been troubleshooting for two days in a row. So far, ive uninstalled all my drivers of graphics as my system a "switchable graphics, intel 3000 cards and AMD 7690 m" and I have to keep the same version of the Catylist control center in order to keep the switchable graphics. So far Ive managed to keep graphics swicthable and ive been able to upgrade my amd to the latest drivers. He has not yet worked and my fps is still horrible. So im assuming that its my verson Bios or something because before I did the update everything was great and I could run BF3 on ultra settings. Ive also tried the drivers of stock for CPUs intel and amd (which was what I was running prior to the update of the bios) and its always the same question.

    Can anyone help?

    Hey, Erico,.
Sorry for the late response. I brought in a store 'Harvey Norman' (not even that I brought in) and they were really helpful. Even if it took a week or so, they re-tried everything I had done, but they managed to fix it by flashing back to factory and re content/settings - all updated for me.
I want to thank you for all the help you provided me.
    Thank you, Tyler.

Graphics card will be limited to what the power supply can turn off, someone knows what it supports current graphics cards go.

Thanks for any help on this.

    @Paul80, welcome to the forum.

Here's memory and SSD who are recommended by Crucial memory.  They make great products for OEM computers.  You have to open the case and check of installed memory brand.  Then contact the Crucial Tech Support to see if their memory will be compatible.  The main problem with the addition of memory, it's buy the memory that is compatible with existing modules.

The best way to install the SSD, it's letting the existing connected HARD disk as it came from the factory.  Connect the SSD drive to another SATA port on the motherboard.  Install the cloning software that you will use on the HARD drive.  Open and select the SSD as target disk.  Once the SSD is cloned, disconnect the HARD drive and start.  The start of shoul for the SSD system.

As for a video, here is a card that has very good reviews.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  It should work well with your power supply unit (PSU).

    Hi there @ako89kurdish.

Let me welcome in the HP support community where you can ask questions, find solutions, and get help with problems you encounter.

Cables and devices to disconnect all the connected such as personal media players, USB drives, printers and faxes. Remove support for internal hard drives and remove any recently added hardware internally.

It may be necessary to disable startup secure in the BIOS to start the computer using recovery media (CD/DVD or USB key).

The new recovery for 2015 fall update manager must be downloaded and installed to successfully carry out a recovery of the system using HP Recovery Manager.

It takes a minimum of 3 GB of free space to install the update in the Recovery Manager.

Do you back up all personal files and read all of the instructions required warning before performing a system recovery? To backup your files will result in a loss of files and information you don't want to lose.

To get the instructions back up and save your files, see back up your files (Windows 10: 8).

The full recovery process may take 4 to 6 hours or longer to complete. For best results, the computer must not be connected to the Internet. The computer will restart several times during the process. Do not turn off or interrupt the recovery process until the prompt to log on Windows.

  • 277dw Lasetjet MFP: Firmware Update for my Laserjet MFP 277dw

This morning my printer has informed me of an update of the firmware, which naturally installed. The printer print is no longer because I have 3 party laser cartridges.  I had heard of tactics HP injet printers, but never thought that they would stoop so low just to force me to buy their cartridges, which for color laserjet, is very expensive.

I currently have the following HP hardware:

    1. High-end ENVY Phoenix 850-065se Desktop (i7-5960 x)
    2. New portable high-end OMEN
    3. 277dw LaseJet MFP
    4. Chromebook 11

I am also a partner HP started.

How much chance do you think it is I will NEVER buy HP hardware again?

If you use laser 3 rd-party cartridges, do NOT have the HP firmware updates.

Find another thread to the M277 that seems to relate to yours:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-printing/M277DW-supply-memory-error-all-cartridges/m-p/5766705/highlight/true#M294371

The solution by the user in this one suggests a bad patch as opposed to a deliberate attempt by HP, third block laser cartridges.  It is more credible to me than what HP did with the OfficeJets.  He fixed in downgrading the firmware that atleast confirms that the problem is associated with firmware.

I commented on another M252 thread on a similar power error message:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/LaserJet-printing/how-to-revert-fix-recent-firmware-update-for-HP-colour/m-p/5809720#M297289

I think its time to crush us this one and get a comment from HP support directly.  If you would be so kind as to contact HP directly through Chat or by phone, we can get an official and timely response.  Then share what you said with the rest of us.  The community can get the word out from there.

I also found another thread dig deeper and providing a link to an old version of firmware, if you want to try it yourself:

  • Windows 7 drivers for HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1126sa

    Hello

I have a HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1126sa.  I need to have Windows 7 (not Windows 8). I installed Windows 7 (no UEFI). It's pretty simple. Now I find there is no Windows 7 drivers on the HP support site. HP support site advises to use Windows updates to update drivers or visit the manufacturer's Web site. Problem is I need an Internet connection to run Windows Update but cannot find the Ralink Wireless drivers. Looking for Ralink manufacturers website I find http://www.ralinktech.com/en/ (which States that the Ralink site merged with the Web of MediaTek site and one for pilots redirects to http://www.mediatek.com/_en/07_downloads/01_windows.php). Maybe somebody has an idea which driver I'm supposed to use? Updates of Windows actually work?

Does anyone know if HP intend to provide Windows 7 for HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1126sa laptop drivers (and indeed any other portable newly acquired)?

    Kind regards

    Keith

    Hello

With perseverance and a bit of research I managed finally to find the remaining Windows 7 drivers (for all unknown devices).

For anyone who needs to install Windows 7 on a HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1126sa, follow is where I found the remaining device drivers:

    1.) Bluetooth controller:

    3 + 4) Both Bus SM & USB 3 controller:

    http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7

A device of 5th (simply listed as PCI device) had become available after they have been installed. That ends up being:

    5 Realtek card reader.) :
