menu bar causes the program to hang

I am running in a loop and surveillance of entry and when the menu bar is clicked on and has held her stops the loop.

and after that my buffer fills the program crashes. Is there some whay to prevent this?

Thank you

I remember an old problem similar to what you declare, in CVI6 years or more. I don't know if it has been fixed in more recent versions of the system: the problem was that opening a menu will ProcessSystemEvents and GetUserEvent to stop until the menu is left open.

Not knowing exactly what CVI version you are using, I suggest you a definitive solution to this situation: hide or dim the menu bar immediately before the loop.

Another approach, better design, but more difficult to achieve on an already developed application, would be of are the function of loop in a different thread, which leaves the main thread free to deal with the actions of the user on the interface.

In all cases, you need to decide weather the operator can actually be allowed operating on UI you in the loop and the operations that must remain active in this case and which must be excluded.
