Menu key missing on my laptop satellite

Hello!

I clean my hard disk and reinstal windows. After him, gray menu what apears when I press the Fn key, disappeared from my computer.

Where I can find the program or the driver to restore?

You can find it on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
What you need, it's that Toshiba value added package.

Please, install it and let me know if you can see the maps Flash when you press the FN key?

To be honest I didn t understand what have you done with HARD drive but the fact is that you are missing some basic as display driver drivers.
I'm afraid that you must clean OS install so I highly recommend you to install original recovery image (original version of OS) m that you got with your laptop.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - typed keys missing

We have about 20 laptops, Satellite PRO L20 (model No. PSL2YE-00H00EG3), and all have this problem): keyboard missing from time to time a key is pressed. All keys are affected and the question is very worrying, given that you can have a miss every 20 letters typed.

We have tried to update the BIOS to version 1.5 to version 1.8, but we had no success.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello

You said that this problem occurs from time to time. In this case, it would be possible that some 3rd applications have a bad influence on this keyboard as described in this announcement.

You also suggested that you tried to upgrade the BIOS. Did you, or was it just a tent?

  • Missing contextual menu key X 1 German keyboard?

I recently bought the X 1 with a German keyboard.

The manual indicates the keyboard has a touch of context menu but is "Druck" on what is 'Print' in English and this key is indeed something else.

Where is the context menu key? Or I can it remap somehow? Or did I just miss something?

Here is a picture of my keyboard:

Here is the excerpt of the German pdf instruction manual:

    Hey MRoc

There is no key to contect menu for the X 1. You will always be able to get the context menu with one of the following combination of keys

    SHIFT + F10
    CTRL + SHIFT + F10
    FN + print

    Hello

As far as I know the installation procedure is the same on all models of Toshiba laptops and trying to please do it exactly as described by Quad.

I did it several times and it works well. Put your recovery CD or DVD in the DVD drive. Start Notepad and hold down the C key. In seconds, you'll see the start menu.

  • The function key does not work on Satellite A300 (PSAG4E)

    Hello!

    I have laptop Satellite A300-PSAG4E
I had installed sp3 WinXPPro on it. All great, but some problems with keys appeared.
    First - 6 functional keys above main keyboard (1 - light (?), 2 - multimedia player (?), 3 - play/pause, 4 - stop, 5 - prev, 6 - then) just change light when they pressed, but in OS, there is no action.
Second - by pressing the Fn key and, e.g. F2 cause no action

All drivers and programs has been downloaded and installed from toshiba support center. Should what information I provide to solve this problem?

    Hey,.

What you mean exactly if you write about the replacement of the lamp if you press the buttons of enlightenment? Change the color or what's happening exactly on the laptop?
Normally the buttons of the illumination and the XP to Toshiba control controls pilot, utilities, etc.

Using the FN + F2 key combination you can change between the profiles of different powers. Therefore, you need Toshiba Power Saver that can be downloaded on the page of Toshiba. It s really a tool where you can adjust the power and cooling settings.

  • How can I make the FN keys work with your laptop more old?

    Hello

I have laptop Satellite 5200-902. Unfortunately there is no support for such portable one 'old' as this on Windows Vista. Vista runs very well on it but the only thing I didn t do is to operate buttons FN in Vista.

Can someone please give me an advice?

    Thank you

    Hello Danny

Unfortunately, I don't think that you'll have success with these buttons. The fact is that Toshiba use self designed utility for all FN keys features. As you know, old models of laptops are not supported in vista, and you will not be able to find and install any utility for it.

Sorry but there is nothing to do.

Hi, well seems I'm having an affair with the toshiba.

Need to restore laptop to factory settings. Closed TS; as part of their F questions they gave a guide how to "restore."
    -turn off the laptop.
-turn on computer laptop while holding the key '0' (next to the key 9)

    > No recovery disc were in the area when buying this new laptop in June 2011.
The recovery CD were not part of the package, because you can create a clean recovery using the recovery disk creator.

  • Unable to start my laptop Satellite Pro - orange flashing

I can't boot my laptop Satellite Pro.
I have an orange light flashes. I tried to remove the battery and hold the power button, but it did not work...

    Help

    I agree with Liam.
The indicator flashes as a serious hardware problem was detected.
What you could do is remove the RAM modules and test the device with the new test modules but I guess that is not RAM problem but something wrong with the motherboard.

  • Built in camera Chicony USB no longer works on laptop Satellite A200

All of a sudden, the built-in in my laptop Satellite A200 Chicony USB webcam has stopped working - it was going very well about 6 weeks ago, but now it's as if he has actually disappeared from the laptop. The camera does not even on devices such as equipment manager - there is no single category of imaging devices (unless I am also connected to our printer/scanner). It is also not displayed in 'scanners and cameras' folder in the control panel. But the software (Toshiba Camera Assistant software) is still there. Weird.

When I start the computer first, or at other times try to start the camera, an error message appears that says:
    * "webcam driver open fail. Restart the computer or the camera. "

Before you tell me to download and reinstall the drivers, let me tell you what I "ve tried so far:"
    1 restart the computer (obviously)
2 downloaded the driver for my model on this site and variously has tried to repair, replace and finally uninstalled and reinstalled the. IT IS NOT THE DRIVER!
3 unplugged my wireless USB mouse and restart the computer (I read on another thread that it sometimes interferes with the camera)
4 tried to get the computer looking for new hardware - he couldn't find it.
5 tried a system restore, where it was linked to a recent update - I tried this using three different restore points system, and none of them could not be completed.

    Help! necessary technical assistance
    Thank you

All that you have done is just.

In all this history it's strange this webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
In my opinion, you should do a final test to check the operation of the equipment, if you want to install the OS by using recovery DVDs.

With own factory and OS preinstalled settings, you can check the operation of the equipment and see if the cam will work or not.
If the problem will be the same I'm almost sure it's related to the faulty webcam.

Just for looking for some advice, much appreciated!

    Thank you.

    > Is this normal?

No, this isn't a common behavior of laptop and I don t think that the sound or noise is normal.

    > I think back to the retailer and asking for Exchange?

In my opinion it s certainly a good idea to check another unit and compare appearances of noise
