Hello

I don't know any way in XP except by specialist partition management software. I use Acronis Disk Director, but it costs! There may be some freebies autour but none I have meet in so I wouldn't comment on their reliability and efficiency, or even their ability to do what you want.

If you're lucky, someone else can come back to this thread and give details of a free alternative.

I have Windows XP Service Pack 3.

The space becomes very low on my NTFS Partition that contains Windows XP. There are partition with more than 100 GB of free space I want to access — preferably by merging two partitions or not not to resize the NTFS partition.
From Googling, it seems that I cannot use the native Windows XP and need a third party application software, but I see that's not without risk of data loss.
    Can someone advise please?  Ty.

    6. as a result, select your C: drive and the option "Extend Volume". Your computer will automatically select the empty spaces available on your hard drive and you can change them if you want to do.

This desire. Not. Work. for system volumes or boot or a partition on which the pagefile system is located.

In addition, the GUI (using the disk management) method only works with volumes 'simple' or 'split', which are forms of "Dynamics" volumes and volumes of"base" that most of the people have set up.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314343

Given that the OP asked about the increase in the size of the partition system (my Partition NTFS which contains Windows XP) which is probably also the boot partition as where the pagefile, the posting is irrelevant.

    Hello

I have a satellite L40 with a hard drive that is partitioned into two (C and E), one with 37GB capacity the other almonst 36 GB.

The C drive is nearly full and the E drive almost empty. I would like to remove the partition and have just a drive, it is possible.

Any advice would be welcome. I'm not a techi so be gentle.

    Hello

    Of course, it is possible
You can do it in disk management.

Just right click on my computer--> Manage
    Here, choose disk management.

Now, you need to remove the E partition. Then the free space can be added to the C partition.

But note; until you do this, create the recovery disk (if you didn t have this done in the past.)

  • How to merge two partitions?

    Hello

I have to merge my F and G partitions without losing all the data to their topic. Is this possible? If so, how can I do?

There may be partition programs on in the world that can do it, but from my experience, the only way to do this effectively without having to buy additional programs is to do this:

    (1) copy G to an external destination as a USB

    (2) delete the partition G

    (3) extend F partition to fill the empty space left by the deleted G

    (4) copy the files from the disc to USB on F.

  • You can merge two partitions together?

I have three partitions in total. The main, the reserve system and I made for Ubuntu that I want to return the primary partitions. I uninstalled Ubuntu and want to just them back together. Don't have not really need the space back, but it would be nice. And if it's going to be a lot of work I'd rather just live with it.

If the Ubuntu partition is immediately after the C partition on the disk, delete it in disk management, then expand C in free space.

With any other layout, you need third-party partition management tools.

  • My computer says it is running service pack 3, but I noticed that two service pack 2 were installed. Is this right?

My computer has terrible fonctionnee and will not at all.  There a lot of errors blue screen and constant freezes.  It happens all the time.  The fact that service pack 2 is installed would be part of the problem?  Also, is it OK to enter the program records to remove a program if it does not appear in the section install/remove?  Thanks for your help.

    Hi RonGerdes,

    1. where to find two entries for service pack 2 on the computer?

    2. Since when are you the bluescreen or constant freezing on the computer?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Some files have been moved and are inaccessible after installation of Vista Service Pack 2

For several months, I had been unable to install the latest updates of iTunes, always get the message "Could not access network location %AppData%". Recently, I realized that I had apparently never installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 and the practice which finally allowed me to install iTunes 9.2.

The problem I have now is that one (or two) of these Service Packs created a new profile user labelled 'TEMP' folder and that's where all my iPod apps seem to have "evaporated" to. I say evaporated because iTunes cannot locate, and when I access the folder of the user 'TEMP' (even using my administrator account), I found only a few subfolders (AppData (, LocalLow, Microsoft, CryptnetUrlCache), and those are all empty.  Either way, my administrator user account no longer shows upward at all when I use my 'normal' user code

Making windows for .ipa files search is the only way I can see same registrants, but then when I try to open the location of file (Mobile Applications C:Users\TEMP\Music\iTunes) I get an error "the location is not available", which suggests that the information may have been moved to another location.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Service Pack 2.

  • My operating system is Windows XP Home Service Pack 3. In the process of printing two jobs, first filled, but second one hung up. Error message was the print spooler does not.

I followed the suggestion to use start > Control Panel > administration tool > services > print spooler > properties.

System in automatic mode but State of the said service stopped.

I get error 1075: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

Printer worked this AM, but stopped working between two print jobs.

I used Mr. Fixit to diagnose and fix the problem. Mr. Fixit indicates the print spooler service is not running, but cannot fix it.

Is there a source code for Windows XP service pack 3 which can be downloaded to replace the corrupted code?

    Thanks for your help

    Curry:

I have followed your suggestion after that someone else provided the steps for me to do the program accept net start spooler.

The error message was THAT SYSTEM ERROR 1075 has occurred.

The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

If I need to reload the operating system, I have a back up saved on a hard drive.

Do you know what file (s?) needs to be recharged?
