  You can try to run a Checkdisk on drive E to fix disk errors that can cause this problem. You can make a backup of the data on this drive and try to run checkdisk.

• Help w / photo copy on the disk?

  Need help to learn how to copy images (use for just framed power card and it makes them face automacticly is no longer made) from an SD card on the disk.

  Please use the Forum for answers!

  You can manually copy by clicking on start, computer, open the SD card reader, locate your photos, select the ones you want to copy and click either straight on and select copy or hold CTRL and press C. Now simply right click on the folder that you want to move to and select Paste. You can also simply drag the files to the new folder.

  If you want to help to restore the old behavior, check your AutoPlay settings. Go to start, Control Panel, Hardware and devices, AutoPlay, scroll to pictures and set it to the desired option as import using Windows or you ask every time.

  By default, they should import into your images folder.

  What operating system do you use?

  I have a HP Personal Media Drive that fits into a Bay on my HP computer and this is where I store all my files. This morning, I get the message that I need to format disk, which I'm not won't to do what I'd lose all the stored files. I tried a restore to a last week, changing the letter assigned to the drive, downloaded Recuva and Easeus, which does not recognize the drive as an option by attaching it to my XP laptop, where I get also to be format option, so I am at a loss of how to proceed. I read all the Articles of current forum to address the situation, but nothing has worked. The HP Media Drive has been formatted at the factory for an NTFS file system, so this isn't a problem. Any assistance you can give for me to recover the files that are stored on this drive would be appreciated. Thank you.

• Thunderbird crash when sending a message or a copy in the sent mail

  I use Thunderbird on Yosemite 10.10.4 38.2.0 (Mac), to connect to Gmail via their IMAP server.

  I have been using Thunderbird for many years. The last two weeks, a problem has resurfaced. It seems that Thunderbird loses contact with the IMAP of Gmail server. Two things occur:

  (1) crashes when sending a message: it hangs on "connecting to smtp.gmail.com. After awhile, I hit cancel them and send again and the message passes through. (screenshot attached)

  (2) hangs when copying to sent mail: I compacted my sent mail folder and it still hangs. Yet once I hit Cancel, and he me reprompts. After clicking ok several times, he finally saves the email in the folder.

  I am also intermittently an error message "unable to run filters on the message" or something like that. Sporadically, in this case it is so difficult to reproduce.

  I have a feeling that the problem is actually the Google server. I was in a new access provider, so at first I thought it was related to this. However, I have tested this in two places, including my university network (temple.edu) and observed the same problems. So, I don't think it's my local network connection.

  I found no information that Google has hurt. I think that other users would see the same thing. The problem with the copy sent mail before in older versions of Thunderbird. The usual alternatives were to compact the file and play with the process boundary setting.

  This is the case on almost every message I send now, and I send a lot of email, so I need to help this debugging.

  I had my pc trashed by a virus/trojan and trying to rebuild without access to the office installation. I have the file .pst of outlook mail. V38 Thunderbird does not offer the possibility, I tried to downgrade to v31 according to previous answers but that said it takes an Outlook installed to do its thing. Is there a way to get my pst file imported into Thunderbird without going through an installation of office work? Sorry for the convoluted title, I was trying to encapsulate the problem in one sentence without realizing I had this field to come. The OS is Windows 7.

  Thank you for that. There seems to be a variety of commercial tools out there, and some that seems doubtful. In any case, I managed to resurrect an old machine with office, installed Thunderbird 31.8 on it and successfully made the import. I then had a bit of work to do to find the correct profile files, the installation creates a profile directory in AppData/Local/Thunderbird as well as in AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird. Roaming profiles is the device. I copied the contents of the Profile / xxxxxx.default on the machine of relief to the Profile / yyyyy.default on the new installation, replacement of existing items, and voila, everything is good. Now to upgrade to the latest version of Thunderbird.

  Just for interest, what is the function of the premises/Thunderbird/profile files?
