Message icons and email separate from blackBerry Smartphones / inboxes

When I set up e-mail (gmail) on my BB Curve 8900 I ended with the icon of a single message / Inbox called Messages and marked another ([email protected]).  Both receive all my email.  The message icon also has text messages.  I read the posts on how to change the SMS and e-mail to separate message boxes and they did, but I see no difference.  Two mailboxes still receive all my emails.  How can I stop this and delete duplicate emails?  I want to have the inboxes separated so I can more easily see SMS messages and I don't want copies of the emails because I guess that it takes storage space.

Go to the icon that you don't want, tap menu then tap hide.

    Hi team...

With the help of a Curve 8310.

    1. I use the BlackBerry enhanced gMail connector.
    2. I am able to get a new emails gMail on my device
    3. I am able to delete email messages on the device and to have them removed in gMail

I am not in a position to:

-Delete items in gMail and delete auto on the device.

I implemented 'Email Reconciliation' on the device... and everything should work.

BlackBerry KB18426 talks about the "limits" of the improved gMail connector but is not specifically of destruction.

You are right. Indeed, the gMail app, produced by Google (available at m.google.com) produces a sync two-way e-mail with own correction.

  • Messages from blackBerry Smartphones not always display in the Inbox on the Torch 9800

Hey there. I apologize if this has already been answered, but I search through the forums and have not yet found an answer.

I have a Torch 9800. Since I got it, I noticed that, sometimes, the messages will appear in my Inbox. My phone will ring when I received it, and I'll have the 'new messages' icon on the home screen, but clicking on the messages icon that leads me to an empty Inbox.

I noticed this behavior affecting the e-mail (my gmail account is the only one that I have will the blackberry), messages text and two customers different third-party chat.

I have no message filtered to different folders, or something like that.

By clicking on "View file" check my Inbox is selected.

But that's where it gets weird: if I compose a new message and send it, when I go back to the Inbox, all messages are displayed.

It's almost as if the Inbox is having a problem displaying the list of messages, but as soon as I push a new element to display (message sent recently), shocked it back to life.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

use a PC to day so you'll have a good backup.

    Manual device OS upgrade instructions:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    2. make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. Get DM here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. This step is not necessary unless there is a problem on the next steps. Use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a full backup), then after you get the 507 error (no OS installed) then proceed to step 6

6 remove the internet connection for PC and reboot the PC.

    7. plug the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

    8. If you did step 5, restoration of the back upward. Follow this KB if necessary http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

  • BlackBerry smartphone inbox message - how do separate you work and emails personal activation w/business

I just got a blackberry tour and spend since a non-blackberry pda.  during the tour all my work e-mails are which flows directly into the main message Inbox but unfortunately so is all the email of my 3 other personal emails.  In addition, each personal emails has its own Inbox but I can't seem to be able to break my email to work out in his own Inbox at least.  I understand the advantage for some of what flows through a box, but I don't like to think about personal e-mails while I'm working.  with all the mails that seeps through is just terrible not being able to separate them.

I've been cruising through this support site and seen some notes on it is not not possible to do it on other models and yet possible on older models?  and if you use enterprise (no) and pop (Yes).

It is STILL true that this cannot be managed for business mail goes in its own folder?   If so, I have to return this device.  (((

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

FYI - the issue is unrelated to the model of the device.

By default, BES email is made only in posts emails BIS icon/App are placed in their own icons, but they are still contained in the main Messages application. This is how it works by default. It is not redundant - rather, think that Messages like the Tote place, with the BIS independent icons being a filter, traction (from message) to them only messages that relate to them... but if you act on an e-mail (read, delete, etc.) in one, the change will be reflected in the other.

Your BES Admin can push an E-mail BES icon only to your device. This solution is free, but must be conducted at the level of the BES server and will affect all users on the BES server.

Or you can get the application to empower BES Inbox (if they have a version that is compatible with your BB specific). This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server level and affects only a single user.

Neither solution would do anything on Messages - will continue to contain what it contains today. All they will do is activate an additional icon on your home screen that is a filter for your BES emails only. You can hide or move the Messages icon/app out of the way, but beware - there are more that just the emails that arrive in Messages... it will come a day when you have a new message indicator and only by digging through Messages that you will be able to find this message.

I hope this helps explain how it all works!

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the difference between the messages icon and the one with my e-mail address as title?

Hi, I'm new to blackberry. I just got a "BOLD", and some of the icons seem to be redundant. If someone could explain why I would really appreciate it. I had trouble getting the results of a search of forum so I apologize if this topic has been discussed recently.

What is the difference between 'messages' (which looks like an envelope) and the other envelope with the globe on it (which appears as [email protected])?

Can I delete one? I don't understand why there are two.

Also, why is it "medianet" and "browser"? They aren't going to the same place? What is an AT & T thing where they try to control the universe?

    Thanks for your help,

    KG

With the BlackBerry, you can have up to 10 "BIS" (BlackBerry Internet Service) email addresses, but also a company e-mail sent to your BlackBerry address.  It is also SMS (text) messages, PIN of PIIN messages and MMS messages.

Each BIS email address gets its own icon which will appear only this e-mail by e-mail address.  The Messages icon ALL E-mail addresses sent to the BlackBerry.  It will also display all messages in pine and optionally show the SMS (text) messages and phone calls, and IM still active cats.  But there is no icon for only PIN messages.

The fact that there is no way to separate the email from company to a simple icon is a point of contention for some users.  There is a product (Empower BES Mailbox - OTA / Web $20) which will create an icon that displays only the Enterprise email.  However, you can also create a saved search to display only the BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) email.

If you prefer using a simple icon of Messages or have separate icons for each email address is a matter of personal preference.  If you have only one or two emails being sent to your BlackBerry, there is probably little difference.  However, I have six accounts BIS as a BES account delivered and many prefer to have a place to look when I hear or feel that a new message has arrived.

In addition, equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard device, I'd rather be able to use the shortcut keys to access ALL the applications on my BlackBerry.  In fact, I have everything I don't need (including Messages, all messaging icons, address book, calendar, Notepad, etc.) in a folder called hidden since I never need them!

    (1) this evening it all of a sudden all messages deleted more than a few days old f. It is used to transport e-mail maybe 3-4 weeks. No idea why. It happened all of a sudden.

    I suggest this thread:

It begins with a process to start properly and there is an exchange of views, and there is also a post (15) with links to earlier versions of the Software Desktop, if those who are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work... but it worked to much to solve the problems they have.

  • Messages from blackBerry Smartphones that do not exist?

My phone is a BlackBerry curve 8520 and I get alerts of messages from him and when I look, I see nothing.

  • Desperately need help from blackBerry Smartphones - I can't read my messages PIN.

I have a Storm 9500 and does not know how to read my PIN messages. I work away from home and so my manual, and for all the google/BlackBerry forum research I did, no one explains how read , only send them.

My companion with a new curve took my PIN and me by post, and all I get is the envelope in the upper left corner with a growing number, that has got to be the PIN messages, as my email is all set up and working properly (and the number goes down when I delete emails). There must be a together simple procedure, but for the life of me I can't find!

I called Vodafone who could help, as BlackBerry do not PIN message support! (?)

I want just the bl * envelopes dy to disappear! Help, please.

    NAT :-(

ethosb is correct, and if you still have problems that maybe it's because you've hidden your main message folder.  In the home screen, press the BB Menu key and select this option to display everything.  You should then be able to find the folder with the message of PIN code for your friend.

  • Incoming message from blackBerry Smartphones

    I'm new with 8820,

Wonder if there is a way to organize all of the incoming message; SMS, e-mail, etc.?

I noticed that all of the entrants is store in the message item, is there a way to move to another folder or create each type of message to new folder in the memory card?

All my call records also to come in this message box, then it's hard if you have a lot of messages and calls save in one box.

Your help on the above is appreciated

Sure you can! Follow the procedure that will give you a folder separated for your SMS messages and e-mail - below

Go to Messages -> Options -> General Options -> SMS and email inboxes: separated

By design in BlackBerry all e-mail messages will come in a folder of Messages as well as separate file created with differentmail IDs. Reading of mails in the personal file will make the same email as read in mail. Check for emails in memory card is not possible. But with fastener OS 4.5 and BIS 2.5 download memory card will be possible some time later.

On call logs, you can change the setting so that it does not appear in your messages folder. Go to the call log -> Options -> Call Logging -> select None

  • Error message from blackBerry Smartphones?

Hi im new but dose, anyone know what this error message is all about when I turn on my bb after removal of my battery [eception exception: error profiling.fill url: null]

    IM baffaled

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the ALT key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:
KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Emails from blackBerry Smartphones does not work after update software for my storm 2

After being prompted to upgrade my software, I find now that my emails settings seem to be lost.  I can receive emails, but cannot respond to anything and the part of the implementation of a new email where you can put in the outgoing server details being included is more like a choice.  If someone has had this same problem and how did you overcome it?   Very frustrating!

Yes, it happens from time to time, you will find that many users have had the problem after an upgrade, if you searched this site.

On your BlackBerry device, go to:

    1. options > advanced > host Routing Table > Menu > register.

2 send your service from your carrier's BIS site books:
    Of your handheld: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402

Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and sign. Then under help!, select Service books and select send service books.

    Your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
Carriers worldwide - find your operator from the list

    3. with the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart. This restart, even if you have already done this, is often necessary to install the service books.

  • Problem of strange Email from blackBerry Smartphones. Emails show as read in outlook when delivered to the blackberry phone

    Background:

our company has recently migrated from Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2010.

All of our blackberry phones use the provider service, so no BIS/BES participates in our side.

Before the migration to exchange 2010, everything was fine.

However, we started to notice what follows with the accounts migrated to exchange 2010:

The user receives an email in his 2007 Outlook e-mail client.

the user does not read the message, the message shows as unread.

BlackBerry survey involved provider, connect to our exchange 2010, the voting user account. As soon as this happens, the email gets "read" in outlook, but pronounced as "unread" in the blackberry phone.

I would like some advice about what to do next or maybe there's something related to exchange server 2010 or my service providers.

I tested it with my blackberry 9000 and is happening exactly as described.

    Thank you

    Hey eaperezh,

    Thanks for the information.

There is an article on this topic: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB03913

To resolve this issue: integrate accounts as OWA or IMAP or to configure a rule to redirect to the exchange server to forward to another address or address BlackBerry.
