Message need to get an administrator authority, during the passage of the second hard drive.
Original title: pass to the second hard drive
My computer has two hard drives of 500 GB. One is almost full. I want to start using the other hard drive, however when I tried my computer said that I need the authority of a Director and that I don't have that power. I am the only administrator on the computer, so I don't understand why it says that. In addition, as the original hard disk memory becomes more complete, my computer crashes more.
Hi ColMarriott,
Using a hard drive internal or external?
You can try the second formatting hard drive after taking a backup of the data on the disk.
If you use an external hard drive, you can try the following steps.
a. connect the external drive.
b. find the external hard drive in windows Explorer
c. right-click on the drive and select format.
You can check the following items and check:
Install or remove a hard drive
Create and format a hard disk partition
Important: Make sure that you have backed up all the data before going forward with the format.
Since the first hard disk is full and crashing, you can try to move some data and check only files not programs drive different or another location.
Hope this information is useful.

Hello
You need two cables, one is a sata cable:
This cable is only for data and connect the hard drive to the SATA connector on the motherboard.
The other cable is energy:
http://www.itpartsdirect.com/STARTech-15-24cm-4-pin-Molex-to-SATA-power-cable-adaptor.html
It connects the hard drive to the PSU.
You can also buy a combo like this cable:
http://www.Amazon.co.UK/DP/B00064GBT4/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550951989&ref=asc_df_B00064GBT4
All you have to do is to connect the hard drive and that's it. Make sure that the main drive with the operating system is connected to the primary SATA connector (I think there are the numbers 1, 2, 3...)

860-160SE Phoenix envy: how to get 10 Windows to recognize the new hard drive
I installed a new WD Black 2 TB hard drive and the BIOS sees it, but Windows does not. It is not found in Windows. What I am doing wrong or do I need to put in place?
Hello
You can see Windows disk management? You must initialize and give it a drive letter and Windows 10 should see under Explorer files (old Windows Explorer).
To access disk management please use search (or Win + Q) and type "Disk management" and then click the Service.
Kind regards.

I need support for the second hard drive on my Aspire 8942 G...
I want to install a hard drive of diving Bay 2nd in my 8945G and I need a support to hold it in place.
Uses same medium used for the original HD. Any help to locate one, please?
I didn't use a drive Caddy to install 2nd HD as my laptop has a built-in space to install a 2nd HD. All I need is a hard drive carrier. This support is no longer available because I contacted all online sources recommended to me and was infomed that the part is no longer available.
So, I used the original media as a copy and one on the metal plate shaped in the same configuration as the original.
I managed to do an almost exact replica and also managed to locate the 4 screws that I needed a local repair shop comp. I have now the 2nd HD mounted and it seems to work fine. I have access to my DVD/CD stlii would emit so.
My Acer Aspire 8942 is one of the few models that have been built with a second HD Bay. A larger...
Thanks to everyone who responded with advice,

Cannot get old backup files in the external hard drive
Separated from this thread.
I'm having the same problem - I did a file with windows vista and then put backup.exe at level to windows 7 and now I can't see my files. Help!
Windows 7 can read files from Vista backup natively as they both use the same backup engine. However the files generated by the backup and restore are not .exe files
You must run backup and restore and then access the backup image to open it.

Are windows puts an administrator account during the installation?
Are windows puts an administrator account during the installation? I'm the only admin user on windows, but I can't do much like I said I need admin which remove, access or open the files.
I use windows 7
Original title: Admin account
You must be an administrator, because the first account you create during Setup must be an administrator-level account. There is also a built-in account (with a current name 'administrator'), but it is disabled, unless you are in Safe Mode (restart hold F8 for safe mode). As soon as the integrated, you can sign in and upgrade your real account on a daily basis at the level of administrator control panel.
Note: even if you are an administrator, some processes will ask confirmation continue. This is recommended because it prevents the virus of piracy of your profile and using your account.

Original title: BLACK SCREEN
OK, I tried 5 times to install windows 8 by using the downloaded Update widows Pro
I've updated the BIOS and other drivers and the only issue is to use the upgrade wizard is UEFI is not compatiable that shouldn't be a problem anywaySo here's the BLACK SCREEN problem, I get all along to install past loan, after adjustment of the apparatus, after preparation, all the way to the end and then it gives just black screen until I power it turns off or reset and says windows 8 could not restore windows I get no error code or any hint of why there not everyone had an idea Yes stay with windows 7 is an excellent option, but I would try and brand and make informed decisions.I have internet search and it seems to be a common problem for many different reasons - ideas - Ive tried more things ive read without success. Help pleaseHello Kiwivic,
Thank you for the question!
I'm sorry to know that have problems you with the Installation of Windows 8. As I understand it, you get a black screen during the Installation of Windows 8.
I need to ask you some questions to help you best.
1. What is the brand and model of the computer?
2 are the external devices connected to the computer?
Method 1: disconnect any external devices (except keyboard and mouse) and then install Windows 8 and check.
Method 2: Select the edge device devices in device/integrated graphic of BIOS (Basic Input output device) and check.
Warning: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.

R310 Gets a blue screen during the installation
I have a R310 failed with a blue screen. I tried to boot from the OS from Dell disk and do a clean install on the original hard drive and a new hard drive.
Installation works normally but gets a blue screen at 10% or 20% (random) during file extraction.
What is the RAID controller that is faulty
any suggestions?
THX
Gavincr001.
What is the stop code that is displayed on the blue screen? Also, you can check if the server is updated in the BIOS, iDrac, controller of life cycle, as well as the raid controller in the server? If some of them get obsolete now, it can cause stability problems. Let me know what the stop code is that you see and I will be able to better understand what is causing the problem. In addition, what is the OS you are using?
Let me know.

HP 6310y can't get the new hard drive to load windows 7
model 6310y - Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit
My desktop PC has stopped working. I took it to the local computer store and they said it was the HD. I bought the new hard drive and tried to install the retail of Windows 7 home premium 64-bit OS. I got an error Code 0 x 80070002.
I called HP support... told me that I needed their brand of recovery disks because the motherboard or BIOS would not allow me to install Windows 7 on new replacement HD disks without having their (HP). So I ordered their... $17
I bought another new HD and tried to install Windows 7 OS with HP recovery disks. This time got the 0xe0ef000e error Code.
I have to mention every time trying to install OS on new replacement HD... He got about 8 to 12 minute installation before receiving error messages.
I called HP support... this time said that the retail version of Windows 7 OS must have worked and that I didn't need the HP recovery discs brand new replacement HD installation. They offered me to pay $199 and send my office to fix inclusive it... all.
Very confused. I never had something like this before... I had several hard drives die over the years and have replaced the myself and installed all of the software including myself OS without any problem like this.
Memory retrieves okay when using the diagnostic f9 key... She showed problems with HD during one of my many attempts of diagnostics
Not sure if it's a bad mother or the video card integrated... do not know how to find either... since I can not the PC market
It will start at Blue HP screen & most of the time allow me to enter in the screens f9, f10 or ESC.
Don't know if its worth paying $200 to fix this or go and buy a new one for about the same price.
any suggestion or help is appreciated
Thank you
I had to send it back to HP. It is a bad motherboard. They dropped the price a bit to replace the motherboard. I don't remember how much they charged me. I'm guessing around $200 - $300

can not get the new hard drive to work in the Pavilion ze4805us laptop
have an HP pavilion ze4805us laptop which had a total hard drive failure... recovery disks were lost in a fire... replaced the hard drive with a Western Digital 250 GB drive... computer recognizes the drive, but with only 137 GB... impossible to obtain the Windows Millennium disk to install... I have it get the PXE - E61 error code... have looked for answers and tried a few suggestions to fix the error code, but no luck so far... would like to throw this laptop and runs again, it was so nice all in operation. Can someone help me with this? Thanks to all in advance... rrcar6
At the level of the BIOS, HARD drive should show the full capacity regardless of the distribution, but it will be limited based on what the current logical block installed the BIOS supports. For example, the 250 GB HDD Needs LBA 48 bit to be recognized by the BIOS in its entirety. Western Digital only provides downloads of software and support going back to Windows XP. Windows Millennium Edition is not able to recognize the full capacity of the drive. Finding drivers compatible with Windows ME is perhaps another challenge that XP uses a different architecture than Windows ME done.
It seems that this laptop is the same time that the books mentioned in this thread. Response from JackShack gives the best explanation as to why he shows quite different in the BIOS. It has been many years, but I do not remember that the capacity of the HARD disk had exceeded what the BIOS at the time supported resulting in the 137 GB limit displayed in the BIOS. This section of Western Digital shows that this problem is related to the operating system or BIOS supporting however, this should not prevent Windows to install correctly.
I'm sure it's already done, as it was not a new BIOS since 2004, but guarantee the newest BIOS is installed. Logical block address 48 bits, necessary for the larger disks (larger for the time) was released in 2003. The 2004 related BIOS earlier than probably took supported LBA. What is the current version of BIOS?
What is the exact message that you get when you try to install Windows Millennium Edition?

Install windows 7 on the new hard drive getting the error cannot continiue
I bought a new drive hard seagate from my existing was only 250 gig, so this is a new clean install, I installed the drive hard drive start the computer with the dick of installed Starter, he began to load then I get this error message saying;
"Update failed due to a stop press unexpected ok to restart the computer." Installation will continue after the computer restarts. »
However, when you press ok, the machine starts, but continues to display this error message and so am now stuck in a loop. What can I do to stop this, because I am totally confused. I have a second hard drive in the machine, but when it is started, he found the new HDD 1000 GB.I am running Windows 7 (64 bit),
Processor AMD Phenom 11 X 4 3.4 ghz AM3 Quad
MSI 790XT-G45 AM3 / AM2 + / AM2 AMD 790 X ATX card mother AMD
Any help would be appreciated
First chech that the BIOS is configured to use the CD/DVD drive as frist boot device.
Then remove the old drive and only connect the new drive.
Start the PC and insert the CD that you created and boot from the CD. If there is a "Long full" test, which is that you need to perform. Also check the SMART data (look for bad sectors).

Portege Z830 - where can I get the new HARD drive
Hello
I have problem with my toshiba portege z830 ultrabook.
My HARD drive died, and I don't know where I can get the new HARD drive.I've got guaranteed but I am forgotten registered my cell phone before when I went for repairs not authorized, because my first problem was with the motherboard.
This motherboard has been replaced for new ones.
If my warranty is maybe cancelled.Well, that's my problem to another.
What should I do?
Please help me. I am available to do anything.Hello
I think that you should first check if your warranty is still valid.
This can be checked on Toshiba Unitdetails page:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails/Where the warranty is valid, get in touch with maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country for replacement.
But as far as I know the Portege Z830 was equipped with an mSATA SSD drive.
This means that the laptop doesn't support HDD 2.5 common but requires special mSATA SSD drive module. In case your warranty is not valid, you will pay for a new mSATA module.
Replacement should do a service provider authorized Toshiba as well because this replacement is a little tricky on this model of laptop. -
I've owned an HP Pavilion dm1-LQ862PA #UUF, used to be windows 7-64 bit. the internal hard drive has been corrupted and recommended to replace another. they were asking for the backup cd and I failed to do, and I do not regret it. Well, except to lose all my files and programs that I installed, it will also include bluetooth, wi - fi and other important built in programs? I'm not a computer expert. If ever these important programs had totally disappeared, how retrieve it? my laptop in an HP authorized service center will be probably expensive and I decided to buy a new HARD drive and ask someone to put it in and install a new OS. Please help thanks
Hello:
There is a support for your PC page where all the software drivers to run the hardware on your PC such as bluetooth and wireless can be reinstalled.
What I don't see is the availability of recovery disks to reinstall the operating system (windows 7 64-bit) or your PC programs (other than those listed in the link of support above).
This means that if you want to replace the hard drive, you must make your own W7 64-bit installation media and use the 7 product key of Microsoft windows on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.
That assumes you can read all 25 characters of the product key windows 7.
Here's how...
If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.
Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.
The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/
The replacement hard drive should be a 320 GB SATA II 5 400 rpm Disk If you want the same specification provided with your PC hard drive.
Please refer to Chapter 4 of the service manual on the link below for the procedures for removal and replacement of the hard disk.
