  Archive messages or move them to some other local mailboxes or mailboxes on the server. Don't know what you are trying to do because it appears that you have 2/3 of your hard disk.

  You have apparent dbx file corruption.

  Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

  Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

  In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

  With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  General precautions for Outlook Express:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  After you click new (+) to create a new message, click show more to the left (under the Cc box). You should now see a menu drop-down labeled priority appear below the BCC box that you can use to select high/normal/low priority.

Now, using Linux Mint 17 Mozillia thunderbird to get my mail it does cela does OK... no problems... Now, if I look back at my mailserver uniserver once again I still see the mail I just down loaded is still on the web site of mail unisere... How can I make sure that, after I down load my mail thunderbird mail on the mail to uniserve server is now deleated...

  I've been bitten twice, losing a response that I wrote on my RT Surface because I assume that my right thumb hitting the delete button in the upper right corner instead of the Send button.  On outlook.com, if you tap on Delete on a reply or new message, ask you if you want to clear or save a draft.  It seems that the Mail app should do it as well.  The indication only subtle that you get that mail has not been sent, but in fact deleted, is that the message comes alive to the bottom of the screen instead of to the top.  Of course, even if you notice is removed you have no recourse. The response/new message has disappeared. Does not even appear in your deleted folder.  This should really be fixed.

  prior to setting bad expectations, the nature of the single copy of message store means that it could "effectively" reduce the storage allocated to the * same * email sent to multiple recipients. If you have a "mass-mail" program send several emails to different recipients (even if with the same body, but with different headers), these messages * ARE NOT * the same message.

  A possible approach would be to begin to count the number of * msg files with same inode number in the partition of storage:
