  I use the data model to run multiple queries. The first query, I get 10 records. Now, I want to use these 10 records in the second query to get my final result. I am not able to use the sub query as the two motions are quite long and complex.

  Select empno, emp where Bishop in (: Bishop)
  
  I can't use: Bishop because it will give only the last value stored at Archbishop. Is it possible to be able to use all the values from the first query in the second query using the data model?

• How to set the value of a field from the LOV of another field.

  I'm trying to figure out how to set the value of a field (P_PROGRAM) to the value of another field of based lov (P_STATE).
  
  The P_PROGRAM field is a hidden field. The P_STATE field is a required field and is based on a list of values for the State Codes.
  
  When a user selects the State to P_STATE, the field of the P_PROGRAM should be set to this value, as well.
  
  I tried different ways to get there via a function call on the post for the calculation of the field P_STATE, defining the source P_PROGRAM to the value of the page item P_STATE put varialbles, creating a process before SENDING, and they all still come back as having a NULL value for P_PROGRAM, therefore impossible to create the file in the db as the PROGRAM is a mandatory field in the table.

  It is always helpful if you provide information about the Apex version you are using. The Apex 4 you can use Dynamic Actions to achieve this. In earlier versions is possible using processes to submit or javacsripts, as well.

  Heres how you do in 3.x with treatment to submit, to make it work in 4.0 as well.

  1 do the P_STATE ' select list submits the Page.
  2. Add a calculation on the point P_PROGRAM, or write to him assign a value based on a process. The treatment should be OnLoad after the header
  3. If the page does not have an unconditional branch that loops on itself, add a. NOTE: The direction must be the last branch (larger sequence number) and should have checked "Save Session State".

  This is what will happen
  a. when the State is selected Page will be submitted
  (b) it will take the unconditional branch to himself and save the value of P_STATE
  c. the calculation process / fills the value of the P_PROGRAM element when the page reloads

  I have a block of details. In what in the 3rd column, I have a LOV.

  My requirement is let say I asked for it from the 1st and 2nd column, and it shows 1 record.

  After that if I pressed F9, then it should display the LOV list and, when I select a value any then it will create a new record with the same value of 1st and 2nd column.

  We here in the column 'Country' LOV. Then when I pressed F9 then Lov should be displayed.

  It works very well so far.

  I agree with Jari. Why do you need a control that allows free to restrict text values? Select lists, lovs of popup or plugins such as skillbuilders or enkitec lovs modal best fit the Bill. These allow free text entry but have a setting to restrict their lov values. They have not seized semiautomatic, but then again they have a list that you can search.   I created a list with three properties and three values. I also three fields when the user types in
  simple text characters in the fields (fieldA, fieldB and fieldC), a button and a field empty that I created.
  
  In the list, I put = the text in each field property values. When I click on my button, I want to display
  ONLY the values of each property in the same field (for example: "Geils"). I can display a value of a property,
  but I need to display all the values of three properties. For example, if text fieldA =, text of fieldB = B and fieldC text = C.
  then when I hit the button, I would like to than "Geils' to read 'ABC '.
  Here's the jargon I've attached to my button (see the commented lines in the script for more info)

  I have the report that I use a diff column eual to this prompt value.
  I wanted to know if its possible at all to have a view and a return value
  i.e. in the lov, we show a value and when we choose we choose a different value that goes to the filter
  
  For example. If we have an APAC region in the table, and then in the show LOV in Asia-Pacific and it returns APAC, so that
  in the data filter gets filtered using ICCA.

  You can try something like this sql in the Prompt Variable:
  SELECT CASE WHEN Office.Region = "ACPA" THEN 'Asia-Pacific' WHERE Office.Region = END 'EMEA' THEN 'EUROPE' TO THE "subject domain name.

  And then in the report so you need to change the column fx filter
  CASE WHEN Office.Region = "ACPA" THEN 'Asia-Pacific' WHERE Office.Region = END 'EMEA' THEN 'EUROPE '.

  Note: This is very good for the case where you have less no.. of LOVs in the column.

  The simple way is:

  1. change select list property settings: action, highlighted Page changed: "Send Page".
  2. write a process on submit, type pl/sql, then fill the (Dept, location, salary, etc) with the select query where condition check for emp_id =: Select_list name.
  set the condition for the process while it is called when a user selects the name of the employee.
