• Mail is always "Download Messages".

  I noticed that Apple Mail is always "Download Messages".  This process will occur approximately every 10 minutes.  This is usually between 250 and 270 messages.  (screenshot)  However, there is no double or extra emails.  In addition, the number of downloaded emails usually does not change (perhaps by 1 or 2 later in the day).

  

  I have 4 email accounts in Mail, which are all Gmail accounts.  I went through each account settings and made sure they are all handled in the same way and have the same options are checked.

  I think I found the problem with account, because I tried with the right button and select "Take account offline" when I see that it starts to download the messages.  Once I have put offline, the download stops.  I tried to remove this suspected account and Add again, but it still does the same thing.  Any help would be appreciated!

  If I understand your message just Mail on your Mac continues to show that it Downloads hundreds of mails every 10 minutes. • Since the update for Sierra, contacts do not appear in Messages - just phone numbers.

  Since the update for Sierra, Messages no longer displays Contact names - only phone numbers.  No instructions on how to remedy this.  Ideas?

  Hello

  Go into the Contacts application and ensure that it uses the same account synchronization like the iPhone and other devices you may be using.

  Also check the part of the accounts of the Contacts application preferences and make sure that it's only using one account.

  I'm on a 2015 13 "Macbook Pro, only had it for a few months and have had no problems with it." Since the update, my Messages app will not work. Always worked well in the past, attempted to restart remove them the dock and everything but it wont open.   This past weekend, I noticed that my Messages app acted strangely on my iPhone 6. Accordingly, I turned and turn it on again and noticed that all of my posts have disappeared. I then did a hard reset and turned on - still no messages.

  I have my settings to keep my messages forever, what really saddened me to see all of my messages disappeared. In any case, I'm about to restore my backup iPhone on a new phone (6 s). Luckily, I backed up my phone the week last before my messages disappearing.

  I understand that when I restore a backup, everything that happened on my phone since will not appear. However, I have also the Messages on my MacBook Air app, when kept all my messages before and after the mysterious disappearance on my phone.   Congratulations on your new iPhone 6 s! I understand that you want to synchronize the restoration of post messages on your Mac Messages app to your iPhone 6 s. If these are the iMessages, your new device needs to load the entire conversation once you send or receive an iMessage from the recipient. SMS messages may not work in the same way, however, you can contact your operator for support with text messages.

  To continue to have your Mac with your iPhone SMS sync, don't forget to implement continuity with your new device.
  

  If you have an iPhone, the SMS that you send and receive on your iPhone may appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch as well. You can then continue the conversation from any device is closer to you.

  Set up SMS and MMS messaging
