I followed the instructions for the 'Password Manager settings':
Firefox will remember the default passwords. You may have turned this feature off, or told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.
. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu and select Options.
. Select the Security Panel.
. If it is not already checked, check Remember password for sites.
HOWEVER, the button "Remember passwords for sites" is blocked.
Note that you are currently in private browsing mode, according to the list of system details:
- Browser.privatebrowsing.AutoStart = True
Note that you have also switched on the keyboard navigation: accessibility.browsewithcaret = True
You can enable or disable this setting power through F7.
- Tools > Options > advanced > general > accessibility: "always use the cursor keys to navigate through the pages."

For some sites that I visit on a daily basis, it's a pain to have to sign in each time. (e.g., Zap2it, which provides TV listings in your area). However, I like defining the Tools/Options/life private to keep all cookies until I close Firefox. I wish I could set up Firefox so that all witnesses would be removed EXCEPT those to which I have. If I could do this, I don't have to log in each time.
You cannot use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox if you want to keep specific cookies by setting an exception.
"Clear recent history" is all or nothing.
You can leave the cookies expire if you close Firefox if you need to keep specific cookies.
Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Keep until the": "closing of Firefox".
The new export feature Cart in 4.0 that can be run as a command of sdcli is a very popular feature
As an improvement, I would like to see an option in the export tool where it is possible to choose whether the date should be
written in the file result of export or not. Currently, it is always written in the output of export file.
Why I don't want a line whose date is when you create one or more result export files, using the
function directly in a directory of the source code management, for example a SubVersion directory, the export of the basket sdcli
will be almost always indicated as changed because of the line with the date, even if the exported data are unchanged.
Would it not possible to add such export tool option for the new version 4.0 of SQL Developer?
With sincere friendships.
There is now a preference to determine the behavior of date. This just missed getting into ai2 but will be there in the next EA.
I can't set gmail or something else. Under Tools/Options/Applications, there is no mailto in the list of applications. How do I configure a?
Try 'Reset download Actions';
When you retrieve an ActionDescriptor, as the application, we received the order to precede the property which we are interested, as we do not get the descriptor of the entire application, but only the bit that we really need:
// DON'T var ref = new ActionReference(); ref.putEnumerated( charIDToTypeID("capp"), charIDToTypeID("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID("Trgt") ); var applicationDesc = executeActionGet(ref); var theInterpolationMethod = typeIDToStringID(applicationDesc.getEnumerationValue(stringIDToTypeID('interpolationMethod'))); alert (theInterpolationMethod); // DO var ref = new ActionReference (); ref.putProperty (stringIDToTypeID ("property"), stringIDToTypeID ("interpolationMethod")); /* <-- ADD THIS */ ref.putEnumerated (stringIDToTypeID ("application"), stringIDToTypeID ("ordinal"), stringIDToTypeID ("targetEnum")); var interpolationDesc = executeActionGet (ref); var theInterpolationMethod = typeIDToStringID (interpolationDesc.getEnumerationValue (stringIDToTypeID ("interpolationMethod"))); alert (theInterpolationMethod);
So far so good.
Problem is that this putProperty only works when you are looking for a value such as Integer, String, Boolean, and enumeration. If you need to get a handle nested as 'currentToolOptions', this does not work:
// FAILS var ref = new ActionReference (); ref.putProperty (stringIDToTypeID ("property"), stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions")); ref.putEnumerated (stringIDToTypeID ("application"), stringIDToTypeID ("ordinal"), stringIDToTypeID ("targetEnum")); var desc = executeActionGet (ref).getObjectValue (stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions")); // FAILS here desc; // WORKS var ref = new ActionReference (); // ref.putProperty (stringIDToTypeID ("property"), stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions")); // Removed the prepended property ref.putEnumerated (stringIDToTypeID ("application"), stringIDToTypeID ("ordinal"), stringIDToTypeID ("targetEnum")); var desc = executeActionGet (ref).getObjectValue (stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions")); desc;
... and you get the descriptor of the entire application (bad for performance), and then extract the bit you want.
Someone has any idea why is this so, or in the case where how to properly add the property for DescValueType.OBJECTTYPE?
A property of the nested object extraction is usually not a problem. Unfortunately, there is a bug for options of the current tool in CS4, and it seems that it is still there in later versions.
-Get directly the property of 'currentToolOptions' triggers the error: "the Get command is not available"!
-Get the property declarations "tool" * two * properties "currentToolOptions" and "tool"!
var ref = new ActionReference (); ref.putProperty (stringIDToTypeID ("property"), stringIDToTypeID ("tool")); ref.putEnumerated (stringIDToTypeID ("application"), stringIDToTypeID ("ordinal"), stringIDToTypeID ("targetEnum")); var desc = executeActionGet (ref); alert (typeIDToStringID (desc.getEnumerationType (stringIDToTypeID ("tool")))); alert (typeIDToStringID (desc.getObjectType (stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions")))); desc = desc.getObjectValue (stringIDToTypeID ("currentToolOptions"));
Suddenly firefox began to automatically open the unbroken tabs. I had to shut down the computer. After you restart firefox, the
tools/options began to open in a separate tab and not in a box as before. I tried to follow your instructions, but seen that
inContent browser preferences has already been set to false. If the problem is not there. Then I refreshed firefox. Since then in the configuration page, inContent browser preferences disappeared. And tools/options continues to open in a tab. I want it to open in a box as before. Could you please tell me what to do?
Hi b.ray, the browser.preferences.inContent preference was just in place temporarily for a period of transition. now that there are new features and settings, go to preferences and was former windowed interface is more maintained, its users would have missed out on them, so the support fell completely in firefox 42.
If you still miss the old style - the Restorer Classic theme https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ addon contains some improvements to make the more familiar the style options...
I use Firefox on a desktop computer, not a mobile device. A previous question and answer solved my problem before the update for Firefox 42, but this solution no longer works.
> > as of yesterday, when I went into the menu and click on Tools / Options, it would open a small window (Options).
As of today, when I click on Tools / Options, it will open in a new TAB. I want the window options quick return, how can I do this? < <
Now about: config, affecting < browser.preferences.advanced.selectedTabIndex > < false > does not open a popup window, but rather a new tab.
The browser.preferences.inContent is no longer supported in Firefox 42 and later (bug 1140495), is not possible to open an independent window by setting this pref to false.
Optionally, create a button on the toolbar of bookmarks for the subject: preferences and hold the Shift key and left click to open the page in a new window.
You can watch the extension Classic theme restaurateur.
- General UI (1): The options Page (topic: preferences) in a window
If that doesn't work or the choice is missing then you may be using a theme that is not supported.
You can check that by opting for the default theme.
I use Firefox for years, but I can't find a way to work around this problem. The problem started after I upgraded to v38.0.5 but I tried to go back to v35.0 and it has not solved the problem. I tried the safe mode and finally uninstalled, delete Mozilla registry entries and performed a clean installation. I am still unable to view the options.
As soon as I click on Tools / Options menu I get an AppHangB1. Initially, the problem manifests itself by trying to add attachments in Gmail. A large part of the browser works, I write this problem in Firefox, but some actions cause the browser to hang. The easiest to reproduce is Tools / Options, the showshopper will not be able to upload / download files.
I hope someone knows how I can get firefox to work again. I am running without the extensions, just a clean install.
It seems that there is a bug in the version 38. When I open: tools::options:security: saved passwords, windows to open, but nothing moves inside the window.
the details are in the question.
Thanks for the test that. If the UI works correctly in safe mode, but not normal Mode, the main suspects would be:
(1) graphic driver incompatibility

Try disabling Firefox to use hardware acceleration:
"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced
In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.
This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again. Any difference?

Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete).
Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
recently, at the opening of a new browser, all is using and closed my last session opens
several widows will open and no matter what the tabs were opened by respective windows will open and not through tools/options/start/homepage
It never happened until recently and nothing else seems to have changed or new programs etc has been loaded or changed
You can remove the user.js, as it shouldn't be there unless you have created the file yourself.
If you set the pref in this file then you'll lose open tabs if you need to restart Firefox after installing a new extension, as this is the main reason for the use of this preference.
So remove the user.js file or at least this line if you want to continue to be reset possible other present prefs in the file each time you start Firefox.
This file is read every time you start Firefox, so changes made to the Pref set via this file only last for the current session.
I updated Adobe Media PLayer, ensuring that I have all the toolbars adding optional and anti - virus did not allow apps. Then after that YAHOO has become my start page. I went to change it under TOOLS/OPTIONS, and option set to make the page my homepage is annihilated, not there, does not exist. Where it's going and how do I get it back? I have run a business of selling online and you have to press the HOME button throughout the day to look for commands.
Hi JoeSeadog, extensions can change the dialog box. Try turning off all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or if there are of course badware/useless, delete).
Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.
I have several sites that have user names and passwords assigned and recorded in tools, options. Fire Fox no longer applies these when I opened the site. When I look in tools, options of the "Remember passwords for sites" is not enabled. How can I enable this feature.
This happened after a fight with some malware in a program called torch.
- Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
- Uncheck the box: "always use the navigation mode private.
I even deleted and reloaded firefox, Thunderbird , but it continues to try to recover a deleted account emails. Where it becomes the info to try to access the account? Tools/choice of account does not contain the account more.
The title of the question and first sentence edited by moderator. This question is about Thunderbird, not Firefox. AW
Something was quite wrong. Settings that use Thunderbird cannot come from his profile, but if the account has been for settings and yet the account is always logged, then the settings page has become out of step with the real state of the profile. Note that uninstalling and then reinstalling the program Thunderbird are usually ineffective because the settings are kept separately in the profile folder.
I would go to tools | Options | Advanced > Configuration Editor and search for it references to the unwanted account and see if they can be removed by here. If this fails, I close Thunderbird and browse the js files in a text editor. If you do this, be sure to make backups, because if the files are preferably incorrectly formatted, Thunderbird will not start.
