MIB or possible SNMP OID on a LaserJet 4350

Hello

I'm just checking my LaserJet 4350 Printer for printing dimensions, where the names, and State and so on. I can connect to SNMP and can get some OIDS with values they are, but I can't read because I can't find the specific MIB for this printer. I have an a 4050 and 4500 but most of them OID does not work!

Where can I find this MIB?

Thanks a lot!

You should maybe contact HP and ask them if there is a better MIB document for your printer model.  Talking about them that you need assistance, analyzing the MIB for your printer.  First level technicians will not be able to help you, but they should be able to talk to an engineer who knows with certainty and relay the right information.

Most of the time I get to play and try out different ideas until I can isolate the correct OID.  I have not really digging into this area often enough to be effective at home.  See if you can hit some of the top level OID and then go in a deeper level at a time until you reach your destination.

  • List of SNMP OID of the PowerConnect switches

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone could can give advice on this survey, like all my research and investigations have not until this product no result.

I conclude on a significant deployment for a customer who has a mixture of 80xx PowerConnect 62xx, 55xx and M8024K blade, M6348 switches. All switches are deployed and operational, and we are now trying to set the SCOM server to use SNMP to retrieve events etc. of the switches.

the problem is that I couldn't find SNMP OID anywhere to concerned, switches that are required. the events that we want to keep an eye on relate to connect the downs, lag switch, battery, authentication and critical failures for the models.

There is no requirement for the consumption of its use, of temperature, fan or CPU power or memory, so they are not needed.

Are there SCOM management packs that might help out here?

Any advice or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Richter,

Looks like you just need to install traps to send alerts to your SCOM server.  Normally, to see the things that you listed as changes to links, lag, batteries, authentication failures and other critical changes of your switches, it is not necessary ask an OID.  All the these can be controlled automatically traps.  The processor, memory, temp, fan and power you listed are in a different category, because they are all sensors in the switch that can send a trap when a threshold is reached, but can also be queried for exact measurements.  Traps are easier to use than to the vote an OID and let you keep an eye on the areas that you mentioned.  To install traps, set your community on your switches string and the management server, enable all traps and configure your management as your recipient of the host server.  The commands are:

(config) #snmp - known private community server

(config) #snmp - server enable traps all

    (config) #snmp - private host 10.10.10.5 Server

I hope it's useful for you.

  • Snmp OID 4 R510 don ' t answer

    Hello

I have a problem for a few weeks.  I had 4 R510.  Before, I configure snmp on them to send information to a software for snmp monitoring information.

So now, don't answer 4 OID on a single server.   2 x power supply status of power and the General temperature (temperature and status).  Others respond like systemname, lan, raid, State of the processor status.

When I stop the service on this server, all snmp oid stop responding.  I did the same test on another and it s the same.  But when I run this service.  Do not answer these OID 4.  But on the other, Yes.

    Any idea?

    Thank you very much

  • SG - 500 - OID SNMP to lower the CPU load?

    Hello

I have several SG500 (autonomous and stacked). How can I get the CPU via SNMP load? Who knows the correct SNMP OID to lower the CPU load?

There are three OID for the CPU usage:

    CPU utilization for 5 seconds

    CPU utilization for 1 minutes

  • Using SNMP to number of requests by fax

I wish I could use SNMP to query and track the number of pages of the fax on my CM4540 printers.

Can someone tell me if this is possible and if so, what MIB and OID would be used.

    Thank you

    Brian

This morning, I got my response from HP.  Here's what I learned.

For access to archive printer MIB:

    1. go to http://h20147.www2.hp.com/sppmain/

    2. click on the link Public of Software Development Kits (SDK)

    3. Select Laserjet and Digital Sender of the Kit Area drop-down box

    4. navigate to LaserJet and Digital Sender > management of printers > printer specific MIB

    5. sort the list of Legacy printers, then select the appropriate model

    6. wait for the browser to refresh, and then click the download button

    7. save the file on your machine and review

I tried saving and opening a without extension, seems that it is just a text file.  It looks like some are .zip.  Some are registered as .mib trying to open it in a CMD window on my machine.  None of the files I was looking at was a text for SNMP OID objects.  Perhaps you need to translate the information into an OID somehow.

Take a look and let me know if you can make progress more or not.  Its been fun to discover all that we have learned so far.

    SNMP OID

    Text: iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.dell.storage.software.storageManagement.physicalDevices.batteryTable.batteryEntry.batteryState.1

    In the numeric form: 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.1.20.130.15.1.4.1

    Possible States:

     0: Unknown 1: OK 2: Failed 7: Reconditioning 9: High 10: Low 12: Charging 21: Missing

But from time to time we receive value "36".Oops, but number 36 is not exist in Dell oficial mib-files.

Can anybody explain me what is it?What does that mean?

    Thanks.

    Crazy,

The reason that I was leaning towards the cycle of the battery, it is that although there is a loading error code, there is an alert information sent to the BONES and OMSA to the start of the Cycle to learn. This is not an error, but is an alert.

  • Help to SNMP JIT

    Hello community of Cisco

Can someone please provide some guidance on how to create an EEM Applet to monitor an SNMP OID? In particular, I would like to know how to monitor State ospf neighbor.

The high level of ospfNbrState est.1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 mib. However, the OID is not enough.

    For example

    Event Manager applet snmptest

    snmp oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.14.10.1.6 events poll_interval 2 get_type accurate entry_type value entry_op ge entry_val 1 exit_comb or exit_time 300 maxrun 20

    syslog «snmp test» action message

The action above will not be generated when there is a change of State of ospf.

Can someone please provide some guidance?

    See you soon

    Carlton

Oh, so that's a dynamic neighbor.  In this case, you might be better matching on syslog compared to polling messages.

Page 10 of the Manual does not say explicitly that it supports environments Server terminal server (the note was the only reference I could find for server environments terminal server).  This leads me to believe that it is not guaranteed to work without causing performance or errors occur.

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M401n: How to set the margins for binding up and left for LaserJet Pro 400 M401n

I am connected to ePremis (medical site) that allows me to print the selected medical forms. ePremis uses the default printer to print the selected form.  The selected form should be printed on a preprinted form that I load into the tray of the printer.

The problem is that ePremis does not provide an option to set gutter margins and print aligns correctly with my pre-printed form. The print position is a little weak and must also be shifted a little to the left. I need to reduce the high binding margin to move the position of superior print on the page and the left binding margin must also be reduced to move the print a little position to the left so that the printed data will properly align with my pre-printed form.

Since ePremis does not offer an option to set the margins of the gutter, I need to be able to set the margins of the gutter through the printer driver, but there is also no option provided by the printer driver dialog box to set the margins of the gutter.  :-(

Is it possible to set the printer LaserJet Pro 400 gutter margins?  I see the margins left and right options in the driver dialog box printer, but they are grayed out and cannot be changed.

I have another printer, Kyocera laser printer, and I don't have this problem with the Kyocera because it offers the possibility to set gutter margins in the printer driver dialog.  I wonder why the LaserJet Pro 400 does not provide this option?

I perhaps could solve this problem by sending PCL6 commands to the printer before printing?  I'm a programmer and am open to this option if it would work.

Your help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Setting margins generally depends on demand - but (you say) that your application does not allow this.

Some printers provide functionality of saving images , whereby the position of the image of the page onto a physical sheet can be adjusted to the printer, usually on a basis of by-tray.

For example, with my Laserjet Pro MFP color 400 M475dn, the appropriate menu/menu item is described as follows:

    Note:

    • This setting applies to the bar up this that changed, so will have an impact on all the tasks using the specified status bar.
    • Not all printers support these features - I have no idea if your LaserJet M401 exercises or not.

With regard to the '... sending the commands to the printer before printing... PCL6«» :

    • PCL6 (PCL XL) rather more autonomous than PCL5is, so I'm pretty sure that nothing you can "send" to the device to influence the outcome of the following printing.
    • Even with PCL5 print jobs, standard printer drivers are "overcome and-tail' with universal output language (UEL) escape sequences (which reset the device to the market environment (user - default)), which would be too mount sequences exhaust specific PCL5 previously sent to the device.
