  I did go to the task manager of windows, processes, sort them alphabetically by the description column, you can list by going to display and select column, and then down to the substitution of com and do a right-click and choose end process... you may need to do more than once... This will remove at least for awhile... it is mainly used to display thumbnail pictures in my photo folder... you can the delete permanently, but then you would not have miniature photos...

  Good so I found the problem. It was real HARD drive I had in my system. After you told me to do what you had posted, I started thinking and wanted to try a theory. I connect a spare hard drive I had in another computer, I like a build up of hobby. It's only 200 GB, but still more than enough. Anyway, when about and installed the operating system on it and of course I could tell a MAJOR DIFFERENCE in the overall performance!

  The original HARD drive that is a Western Digital 500 GB took more than 2 1/2 hours to install completely; the Seagate 200 GB took only 20 minutes!   I hope someone can help on Win 7 64 bit, music is taken on a disk usb2 external hard... I had no problem until today when the message in the title appeared next to each track, with a little red cross.

  I already deleted database library as suggested by some of the forums, also disabled the media as a feature of Win 7, rebooted and then re-enabled it.  I also disconnected externally and restarted that as well, I'm also the same mistake with a cd in the cd drive as well.
