• Alcor Micro Card Reader

  When I tried to download pictures from my camera card reader memory chip does not recognize the memory chip. HP has a update driver for the card reader Alcor Micro, but it would not be installed. My computer is a HP Pavilion p6-2378, Win. 8.1, 64-bit, the Alcor Micro Card Reader Driver is for a 32 bit, so I was wondering if there was a way I could get a more recent program of Alcor Micro Card Reader because when I went to the Alcor society, they said that they only sold to companies like HP who built the computers. I was told by one of the technicians of HP to reinstall the Alcor Micro Card Reader since the recovery disks, but if the Alcor Micro Card Reader would not install new drivers why I would bother to reinstall. He don' your sense no. Is there any help out there?

  Just get another card reader. They are quite in-expensive. Make sure it specifies that it is SDHC in line.

  With your v1 player (as indicated by your firmware version) you can only use MSC mode when it connects to your computer in order to access (add or remove) songs on the map. MTP mode will not work. Period.

  As c1u31355 suggested, make sure that the card is placed properly into the slot on the side of the player. The lttle Ridge or bump in the middle of the edge on the map will be little difficult to get through the first few times you push the card. Then it wear out a bit on the edge and slide smoothly.

  

  Push it all the way, even slightly beyond the opening until you hear a slight click.   c1u offers a card reader to see if you have a bad card, or if the problem is with your player. If you put the card in the card reader, and you can transfer (drag & drop) of music files, your card is OK, and you might have a problem with the drive.

  Just so you know, you can not 'sync' music to the card if it's how you normally do. This would require the MTP mode which will not work. You have to do drag & drop from the computer to the card. It's the only way. Well, actually you can rip directly to the card, but that's another topic.

  The venue 7 Tablet has a slot for Micro SD card and I can install one and see when I click on the parameters of the tablet. But how do I see what I have on the map, or move things to the card?  I clicked on the map in the settings section, but it does not open as it would on a computer, and for the life of me I can't understand how to access the information I can speak on this card to display on the tablet or how I would either move on this card.

  1. check if the device is detected in Device Manager. Follow the steps to go to the Device Manager

  i. click on start, type devmgmt.msc and then on enter.

  II. research the name of the device

  If the device is not detected in Device Manager, and check if it is the hidden device.

  i. click on view under view hidden devices

  II. develop all winks in Device Manager

  III. there would be multiple entries in the device in gray Manager uninstall all entries shaded under all the winks and then restart the computer and connect the external device to the computer and check if it works

  2. install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's Web site and even ensure that the driver is compatible with the version of the operating system installed on your computer. Check if it works

  Thank you for your message.  This happens with all the cards that you are trying to read from where is it just this one?  We need the problems if the port/player card on your computer could be the problem.  If your computer has a built-in card reader, go to your computer manufacturer's website and download/install the latest driver for your card reader.  Please let us know if this or help to solve this problem.
