Microphone pick up background noise

I run Windows Vista on a Dell Studio XPS 435MT. My microphone is standard stock with the computer. Realtek HD Audio.

My problem did not exist until today. I started my computer and installed the last Windows Update: "update for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB971029), update type: Important, this update in order to limit the autorun entries in the AutoPlay dialog to only CD and DVD readers.» After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer. »

Then, I played an audio file on my GOM Player. The end of the audio file play is when the problem started, namely, it straightens upward all the sounds in the immediate vicinity, i.e. the taps on the desktop, keyboard use, my breath LOL... quite annoying, especially because he has never done this before. I have not changed my settings prior to the problem. I opened my DD Realtek Audio Manager and everything seems to be in working order as usual.

To try to stop the microphone to pick up the sounds of the room, I dropped the Microphone + 30,0 dB and + 20.0 dB amp. I assume the default since always dB + 30.0, because I have never changed the factory settings. However, lower the Boost does not restore my computer as it was before starting the system today.

Then, I thought that maybe the GOM Player still worked while I was close the player after having to listen to the MP3 audio file... the 'white noise' that runs through my speakers was always present. In order to exclude the GOM Player was still running, but somehow invisible, what sometimes happens with my Mozilla Firefox, I uninstalled the GOM Player without effect. I have no other devices running that uses the microphone and I have restarted only computer several times. Right now my only solution to stop boredom is to unplug the microphone of my back panel where it connects. Suggestions as to what I can do to restore its former silent microphone when not in service? Your stay will be very appreciated. Thank you.

Hi BWhalin,

In Realtek audio Manager, click the Microphone tab, next to the volume slider, you will find a button to disable the output.

I hope this helps!

    Hello

Description: Internal microphone with full boost, and volume has background noise. By reducing its levels, it has insufficient gain to drive Skype etc, so the only viable solution is to use front mic. Have you tried several MICS known for work on the other PC.
Logbook - sometimes when its clogged, the front mic back, is the only micro displayed, but his level is very low with settings on full boost, and volume, is hardly audible; It is not set to mute. Sometimes the settings panel shows two microphones with works front and internal as well as external. EG remove the front plate near mic and it responds.

I am a hardware engineer and it does not appear to be linked to the defective mic connector on the front. Both the A200 is relatively new. Also, I've seen similar to this Google search topics, but no one had their similar fault solved.
His may be a hardware problem, but given the bizarre behavior of two microphones working with trendy front in and sometimes not, it tends to suggest a driver problem. But I installed the latest driver, I could find: driver Realtek SA200-SM200-RealtekHD-6.0.1.5406-Vis64-Vis32.exe

I do not ask questions, because it's my job to solve PC problems, but this one has really left me speechless.
    Kind regards
    Alistair.

    Hello

Which is really strange and I can only say that my girlfriend has a Satellite A200 too but she doesn't have any problems with the internal mic. She uses the microphone for MSN and Skype, for example, but without any problems.

In any case, have you tried with the factory settings? I mean the Windows Vista preinstalled with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. Normally with these settings, all should properly.
Additionally, make sure that you have installed the latest BIOS for your laptop.

    Welcome them

Buy a micro better use - one with noise suppression.  Sounds like inexpensive material.

  • Best effect/setting to reduce the background noise

I have a clip that has someone quickly grasp a phone that makes a little noise that I want to keep. However, the clip was shot with the microphone in camera and there is a stable level of "noise" in the background, either by the snoring of a laptop nearby, or just the mic's 'default' bad noise.

I tried to add different effects like Denoiser without noticing much difference, maybe that I don't use the right settings.

Is there a specific audio effect that I can add to a clip out of unwanted background noise level. It's not like there

people who speak or dishes that sounds, it's more like a constant buzzing background or whatever.

Your best option would be to Soundbooth or Audition.

  • Background noise when connected to the power supply current

I recently bought a laptop series Equium A100 and am generally very happy with it however I noticed that there is sometimes a background noise through the speakers (crackles and whistles) - this happens only when the AC adapter is connected does not when running off the battery voltage. The noise is present in the onboard speakers and if connected headphones/external speakers. It's definitely coming through the speakers/headphones not the mechanical parts of the laptop or the battery itself.

I see that others have had a similar problem also but no solution seemed to be posted. I was wondering if someone has solved this problem yet?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It's very strange. I have the Satellite A100 (Vista laptop) and I don't have this problem. Satellite and A100 are portable similar and there is not much difference.

Your laptop comes with Windows XP Home or Vista edition? Have you tried to update BIOS. It's a really stupid question and I think that whistle is quite annoying for you.

Have you also tried to contact service? What they say about this?

  • Background noise during recording on Equium A100-027

My Audio cd plays very well and the sound quality is good.
However, on the extraction of tracks and playing in Media Player, there is a background noise "to be carried".
The same noise is generated when you use the keyboard with MacOS E - MU Proteus X 2 software.

Is there an Audio driver problem when recording?
    Someone had a similar problem?
I posted this before you try the new drivers out of this site: I'll report if it solves the problem
    Thank you

  • Using Windows Movie Maker - background noise

I am downloading some videos of Window Movie Maker. All the videos have very strong background noise. But when I play videos in real player, the videos play fine without background noise. My husband has used iMovie to edit these videos and has either no problem of background noise.

Why would there be background noise on Windows Movie Maker only? I really wish I could use Movie Maker to edit movies, since I'm used to the program.

  • How do you reapply the background noise that you have deleted after having saved and exported a file in Adobe Audition

    Hello

I recently applied effects to a dossier of a cleaner noise adaptive and saved and exported the file as a .wav and MP3. Now I want to apply again the noise or, basically, to remove the effects that I applied. However, when I go to eliminate effects by going into the tab at the top right of the effects rack option to remove the effects is not highlighted and does not allow me to select.

Does anyone know why this is? (A friend who uses Avid says he can reverse the removal of background noise) And, is there a way I can apply again the noise / remove the effect I applied?

    Thank you!

    Holly

You can only cancel the Adaptive NR if you used in Multi-track mode, and you have the recorded session. You will need to go back to the original session and it cancel. But if you have, then the original file you used will always be intact anyway, like Multi-track is non-destructive.

But if you did the NR in waveform mode to your original file and saved, well, then I'm afraid you're completely stuffed - save the file displays the result to him, and there is no possible "undo" mechanism, such as which relies on temporary files of the whole thing being recorded, and if you did with all that you would end up with a completely full hard drive without delay. That is why, if that's all you are concerned at all, then you change a copy of it, rather than the original.

  • You need adobe first to clean the background noise of a multitrack?

No, all the tools for the cleaning of the background noise of an audio file are built hearing. You need only Premiere Pro if you edit video files.
