  • What can I use to search for a Microsoft has agreed to AGP Pro graphics card to make a visible improvement on my computer screen?

I have an ASUS computer (actually it's a DIY chassis and motherboard ASUS with CD/DVD player and it is a real improvement over what I used, but I want to upgrade a NVidia 6200 AGPto graphics card of PRO for an improvement in Visual acuity and a cleaner profile.) Most computer retail online places like Comp-USA sell all these PCI cards and same NEW EGG does not list Pro AGP card. So while I'm looking I thought why not find a "Microsoft approved" AGP card?

    Hello

Step 1: You may need to search the drivers updated through windows update.

    See: http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-us

Step 2: otherwise, you may need to search for drivers by using your favorite search engine.

  • RegCure is recommended by microsoft

My computer has a large number of errors of a free scan of Reg Cure and I was wondering if it is recommended to use it on the computer? I didn't settle without knowing that Microsoft approves the program.

Reg Cure is a fake program.  It reports errors that do not exist and who wants you to pay to "fix" these errors does not exist!  Do not use any third-party registry cleaner with Vista! Carey Frisch

  • Cannot install KB2360131 on locked system XP SP3

It takes a bit of history.

I work for a software company that writes software for ATMS (ATM cash) by a Microsoft approved locking method that prevents access to Microsoft Windows Desktop for running our application. These ATMs are under WIndows XP SP3 and the base of IE6 installation. IE7 and IE8 have not been installed on the test computer.

Due to this locking and these ATMs do not connect to the Internet, but wrap each executable Windows Update in a msi file. This method has worked for more than three years until now. Only the Microsoft cumulative updates for Internet Explorer do not settle by using this method. All other install correctly.

The msi (created using Installshield 2008) performs a custom action to run the executable file of Cumulative Update.

    The command line is:

    msiexec /i MS10 - 071.msi / quiet/norestart/log MS10 - 071.log.

Due to the inability to install we update the command line for the Cumulative Update to include logging for the update as well. This paper has the following:

    [KB2360131.log]

    6.234: ================================================================================

    6.234: 2010-11-01 16:59:37.828 (local)

    6.234: c:\fe8c21567ae3d8b6fbe20b17092d10\update\update.exe (version 6.3.13.0)

6.297: hotfix started with following command line: / quiet /norestart /log:X:\SMARTATM\Activity

6.297: in function GetReleaseSet, line 1240, RegQueryValueEx failed with error 0x2

6.328: an unexpected error during execution of condition sine qua non of the line 1 (Test.IE7InstallBlock.Section)

    6.328: installation KB2360131 cancelled.

    6.328: Update.exe extended error code = 0xf00d

6.328: Update.exe return code was masked to 0 x 643 for MSI custom action compliance.

When we execute the msi file on the desktop (after termination of our application), the package seems to install. The user under which runs our application has administrator privileges, but it is not the default XP administrator account.

Why this update does not install so that all others succeed?

    Thank you.

Just as an info - none of these are not yet installed.

I now work with Microsoft Partner representative assigned to solve this problem.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Parentologic PC Health Advisor - is safe to use?

is the program "Parentologic PC Health Advisor" safe to use? What is really "microsoft approved" - because it claims that it is

    Hello

Yes, PC Health Advisor is sure to analyze and use. Throughout the process of scanning and repair, you will be able to see what is changed, and you can cancel at any time. If anything wrong turn, there is also a backup system full to act as a "safety net".
Regarding Microsoft products ParetoLogic are not "Approved Microsoft." However, ParetoLogic is a partner Microsoft certified.

    So, I I had 64 - bit.

    (2) in addition, I need to know if MicroSoft approved indeed Uniblue programs. Uniblue says they are a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. What does that mean. I am uncomfortable because the Registry Booster found 687 problems! Don't you think it is really safe to click 'fix automatically? It seems to me that it could cause a major problem. I don't know what to do.

    1. If the properties of the system does not have 64-bit, you have the 32-bit version. In addition almost * everyone * the 32-bit version runs under XP.

    2. I can't tell you what Microsoft approved of, but I can say that I agree. Stay * a lot * of registry cleaners. Do not run it and if you have, do not click on "fix automatocally." The risk of creating problems in this way is very large.

Registry cleaning programs are * all * snake oil. The registry cleaning is not necessary and dangerous. Let alone register and do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and what software record cleaning providers are trying to you convince to have used the registry entries is not really make you hurt.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit it may have.

    and also http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-windows-fact-of-life.aspx

Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns against the use of registry cleaners has never said that they always cause problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry cleaner and never had a problem with it.

The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it the essential * risk * to have a problem. And since there is no advantage to using a registry cleaner, running the risk is a very bad deal.

  • Showing critical event viewer

We have telephoned by a security company called telling us that our IP address is vulnerable and he was visible, they told us that our security company did not work properly and they were microsoft approved and also worked for ISPs and said we had to do the sorting. While they inspected the system we have critical event alongwith other types listed so we need to know if we need to contact Norton to get these fixed

That sounds like a call to technical support of scam.

It is a video of Symantec (Norton) on this subject.

  • Customization of Web platform

It's on the Web Platform' customization '.»  I had problems with my Internet Explorer in which my home page came back to igoogle and I'm not able to change the home page back to what I want.  By experimentation, I found that by IE completely uninstall it from my computer and put it back, this works very well for a week or two.  My original thought was a homepage hijacker and I scanned with everything I could think of to find the culprit with no luck.  I tried many patches of sources online also with no luck, yesterday when I removed and reinstalled my IE for the first time, on which he recorded with me that I received a message reboot indicating that personalization of Web platform is no longer necessary and that it was being uninstalled.  For some reason after that a few days of use of personalization of Web platform are resettled in the background.  This locks my IE to Igoogle homepage and does not allow me to change the registry value manually even after Open regedit as an administrator and development of property of the registry value to my administrator account.  How can I disable this personalization of Web platform?  He seriously the opportunity to switch to a browser Google Chrome because Chrome browser is not affected by this Microsoft approved malware.  The only software that I installed in the last 4 months was 2013 of Microsoft Office.

  • Pots of support Invasion of Privacy - claims to be approved by Microsoft - threats to computer security

This afternoon, I received a phone call suspect of someone (very strong Indian accent) claiming that he was of pots in charge who had allegedly approved support for Windows Microsoft firmware. He knew the details of our name and contact information. He was trying to tell me that we downloaded unintentionally viruses on your computer and tell us how to solve this problem. The alarm sounded at the beginning, but my main concern,'s done it how this organization to take our details. I am a very careful person when it comes to my personal life. Out of curiosity (as I was convinced that appellant was based abroad), I asked where he was calling from... He claimed to Adelaide. When asked what part of Sdelaide, he said, the southern. I asked an address and all he could give me was St Johns. He said the phone wasn't (08) 70041212. If it were Adeéaid the number would have started with 8 not a 7. I have no intention of ever letting anyone to have remote access to any computer, and I noticed since at least that someone else had known the call of the scam. So, is this able to report, and how do I protect our coordinates so that these stupid people (saying that he well :-)) not wasting my time again.
