Microsoft Customer Service - additional views Abomnitable

Can someone tell me how to avoid spending hours of frustration with the Microsoft Customer Service? I pay for this service. I have a firewall problem which was caused by a Microsoft technician last week and I'm trying to get it resolved. Microsoft response service invariably sent me to the wrong support group. Before that I have to find that point, I'm put on hold for a long time. After another long wait, I talk with someone who is trying to solve the problem and can not. This person either loses the phone connection. I must then call back and start over. Problems to be solved are deceptively simple.  I think those tech people would be really useful. They do not seem to understand the problem. Use cat for the better?

    I just wanted you to (a) I had a very similar experience today that sent my blood pressure skyrocket through the roof and (b) the 'support' (?) provided by MS seems to have got better with the release of Win10.     To be fair (?) to Microsoft, they're probably dealing with a considerable number of complaints, requests and similar with the launch of Win10, but in no case should justify "hang up" on frustrated users who are asking valid questions about Microsoft products. Will not create us these problems, and many of us have been "actively encouraged" to use Microsoft products through some pretty compelling marketing - Microsoft is expected to provide some of this service of 'better quality' and 'innovation' they like to make out in their campaigns in the media.

    If you want to deepen your question, you might be able to find a back door into the network MS. try to do an internet search on the Microsoft contacts in your country - they like to push to good media on themselves, so you can be able to find someone who handles issues related to the consumer media. If you feel that, send them an email or (if you're lucky enough to get a phone number), give them a call. No guarantee of operation, but you can try.

  • Why am I receiving calls supposely microsoft customer service about my computer being hacked?

    When I get a call the guy on the phone told me that he works for Microsoft and it want let me know they get reports from my computer. The issue is on my pc was hacked. The guy offers to "help me". Of course I do not provide information ask him or give him remote access to my pc.  Why I get this call so often. This is something that Microsoft made normally? I need some answers. Thank you.

    Calls are outside the jurisdiction of the country in which the calls are placed. This is why they do not stop.

    Microsoft has no idea who is running Windows and who is not and certainly can't tell if your computer is infected with malware.

    What you receive is scam calls from abroad callers get your name and phone number from telephone directories online and then call in the hope that there will be a gullible Windows user at the other end.

    Please let your friends, family, work Associates abreast of what is happening and why it cannot be stopped...

  • Customer service terrible to try to unblock the account via Live Chat

    Several months ago, my account has been hijacked by someone in Taiwan. Skype credit has been purchased and the pirate air started making phone calls. Fortunately, I took this activity from the outset, with recipes by e-mail and has managed to avoid further abuse with a change of password quickly. I followed its use for a while, it's been a few months now and all seems well again. However, it seems that my account is suspended. Not much, given a reasonable answer I reported the diversion of Service account customer, and it seems easy to fix via Live Chat. Boy I was wrong.

Is not helpful in the slightest.

    In addition, they also want the month and year on my initial sign of Skype services? I have no idea. I use Skype for years, since it is in BETA, if my memory is good. I tried to search my profile, but I find this information? I mean who remembers the exact date they joined Gmail? Or Facebook? Sign up for web services all the time and I certainly never write down details about the dates for future safety violations.

    It is very obvious that my account has been hacked, my position jumped from the United Kingdom to Taiwan with a sudden flurry of activity before a change of password that brought to a halt and a return to the usual use of the service. Isn't there a more sympathetic way customer to deal with this problem asking me to remember the details of years ago?

    Thanks to the hump, I thought I should post an update on this situation, because of the fact that I finally found a fix.

    I recently signed up for Office 365. One of the advantages of this service is free Skype minutes each month. Another is access to a higher level of customer support from Microsoft themselves, which allows you to bypass the REPS of Skype once I mentioned my questions to a representative of Microsoft, they have solved my problems, literally within sixty seconds, without the need for a ridiculous of identity verification amount, once I reminded them how much to invest in their services on a monthly basis. They really could have more useful to maintain my subscription. So finally after more than 18 months, I once more full access to my Skype account.

    In short, Skype customer service is terrible and the script function, while Microsoft is inhabited by beings real humans who you can have a conversation with, reason with. If possible, seek out them, especially if you are a customer who pays for anything (Xbox Live, Office 365, etc...).

  • Not honor the warranty / the TERRIBLE customer service

    I'm so frustrated with HP "customer service." I will never buy an HP product again, due to their service horrible customer and the fact that HP is not to honor their guarantees or they make it extremely difficult to do.

    I have a HP Pavilion 14-c015dx chromebook who has a defective touchpad and no HP helps me. (Intermittently, my touchpad doesn't work. The cursor/pointer begins to shake/vibrate making it almost impossible to click on what is expected and the scrolling feature freezes. In addition, a powerwash has not solved the problem.) I started calling a few weeks previously, while still under the one year warranty. HP told me that my chromebook was out of warranty. It was not the case. They had an incorrect purchase date. They told me to scan and send a proof of purchase. I did twice, to two different and two e-mail addresses. I was told my chromebook could be repaired and wait for that box to ship it in in. I have an order number BFBB4515, but I got nothing. According to the status of the command line, it is said, awaiting customer action.  We was told by one of the several people that I spoke he would personally that my problem would be solved, but refused to give me his full name. Now when I answer emails before, I had the customer service, I receive replies automated indicating my chromebook is longer under warranty and I can't get email support. I just called customer service, and he said that I still need to send my receipt as proof of purchase. SERIOUSLY? HP, you are doing terrible business by making it so difficult for people to get their problems fixed. And shame on you for not honor your warranty.

    I don't know in which country you live but try to find the number of hotline on Toshiba page for your country. You can call and ask for help, but I'm pretty skeptical about it.

    Toshiba and other laptop to the manufacturer are responsible for the operation of the equipment and many operate recovery image. If you have problems with viruses or other software issues, you can use supplied recovery media and make clean OS install at any time and run OS.

    If you check Google you will find many sites with good description how to handle this. Check it out.

  • Political group customer service couldn't start - how to solve this problem? The latest in a series of problems.

    For completeness, I'll give the full story here. We have a computer that is running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. The other morning, following an update of Windows and reboot, when the user tried to connect it receives the message "user profile Service service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

    We took the advice online to log in with an administrator account and change the parameter of the register for the profile, reseting certain values to 0. We have also followed the instructions to remove the ntuser.dat file. However, we have not find a file that was just ntuser.dat. They also had the long series of numbers after them, apparently, which indicates that they are temporary files.

    After several attempts to fix it, she now gets a different error when it tries to connect: "customer service group strategy was able to start.

    It can log on to the account in safe mode, and I can connect on his computer using his account from my computer on the same home network with no problems.

    We tried to copy the directory of the user to a new profile, except for the ntuser.dat file, as suggested by using Windows. It took a good 5-6 hours to copy, and the new profile seems to be heavily watered. None of its setting have been postponed, webshots will not run, Firefox keeps asking if she wants to set as the default browser even after she told him Yes every time, and it cannot access the settings of user accounts in the new profile. Its almost as if he's really the administrator permissions, even if the accounts and users control panel shows it does.

    When connect us to access in safe mode and look at the advanced user account settings, profiles include two profiles with his original user name. Basic user accounts list shows only one. I have no idea what it means.

    His profile has now ntuser.dat file. However, we cannot copy or delete it - its used by the system. We can also restore a previous version of the file ntuser.dat - apparently it isn't getting saved in archive (probably for the same reason, we cannot delete or copy).

    We tried to do a restore of the system since the start of the day. It was while he was still the "user profile service failed", but before the "political group customer service could not start.

    We have done sfc/scannow. He said that some files were corrupt, but he could not fix them. I couldn't understand what files it thought were corrupt.

    The Client Services group does not run when I see him the original profile in Mode safe. However, I don't know if it's supposed to be running in Mode safe or not. There is no way to start; to start or stop options are shaded out and unselectable. The Group Services Client IS running when I check with a different profile on the system.

    Would appreciate a fix for this, or at least a way to create a new profile that covers all sound settings and didn't result in a complete disaster.

    I think we have this resolved. Unfortunately, there was some steps as long as I'm not sure which were needed. It includes:

    (change of some registry entries for the profile)

    Uninstall of Symantec, which had an automatic scan which had been interrupted and was stuck not being able to complete or be cancelled.

    * The final bit of trouble who worked was (hope I get this right):
    (1) delete the registry as indicated above.
    (2) rename the profile folder.
    (3) restart the computer and let it create a new profile folder with the same name.
    (4) copy the files newly created to the old profile profile's ntuser.
    (5) by removing the new profile and rename the old profile back.

    And now things seem to be working, if she had to re-run Setup on some programs.

    How do you get in touch with Acer if out of warranty to the customer?

    I sent my laptop to get something fixed. They send it returns with the bottom cover having broken stands. They legitimately have the replace, but the game does not match the model of laptop. I tried to get in touch to tell them what they can send a new one, but it is impossible.
    I know that they refer you to a third party service to anyone out of warranty, but they all keep saying ' we do cover that.» And the chat option never works because nobody is ever there. I do not understand this system what acer!

    It's ridiculous, Acer causing me problems that I can't fix. Mainly because there is never anyone talk to him.

    I would like to get more details on the product and the details, but I have a feeling that this message won't get through to Acer.

    If an admin can help or show this to someone who can help I would really appreciate, an agent in my area or number that will actually allow me to go through customer service. It's their fault, but they avoid just someone out of warranty. Totally unprofessional and embarrassing.

  • The Customer Service of group policy has denied access problem

    After the execution of a routine Windows Update as I always do, I was asked to restart my HP laptop (running than Home Premium 32-bit Vista). The only other thing I had opened was a radio station playing music from the internet. I didn't close anything before restarting as I thought he would close himself. So I just rebooted. Like the reboot process that was going on, I noticed that my laptop came into DOS mode and all kinds of lines of text have been created and saved, but I assumed it was part of the updates.     I had only one account configured, so I was forced to restart in safe mode in order to create a new account. But when I created this new account, it does not appear in the c:\Users[user-name]\Music\iTunes\iTunes. All my user account is a folder owner and a Public folder, and no record has my user names listed in their breast. So I couldn't copy the files from my old username to my new.

    I tried to restore my computer to a different date, but unfortunately, I had too many things on the laptop to create a backup file on the D drive, I never did. I know, stupid me!

    I also tried looking up 'services' in the help section and then scroll to find "group policy client" and that there is nothing listed at close distance from that.

    I've seen a lot of these posts dating from 2008, 2010 and 2011, and I tried just about every does not.

    Can someone help me please? I use this laptop for my home based business and my Quickbooks is. I depend greatly on this laptop, and I need to work again for me!
