Dimension B110 does not recognize a new DVD burner
Two years old B110 came with only a CD - RW (TSST). You just bought a new Philips 20 x SPD2413BDDVD - RW with DVD-RAM 12 x.
I set the jumper slave and installed. He ran, but the sound was very agitated. I ran the Dell store and discovered that they use the Cable Select for optical drives.
I changed the setting to CSEL, and he did not recognize the drive. I checked the BIOS settings and all discover the second IDE auto. Now it shows DRIVE UNKNOWN. Updated to the latest version of the BIOS, no change. Windows Explorer does not see the disk; Plug-and-Play finds him or the other.
Tried to erase the NVRAM, checked to make sure that DMA is selected and tried to connect this drive only. Computer still does not see it. Any ideas?
Thanks, man NRG

My HP Presario f 700 laptop does not recognize my CD/DVD drive and will not burn or play CDs or DVD movies.
I have a lightscribe, CD/DVD player, and I started having problems about a month ago... I tried to burn a lightsribe CD and my computer told me that I didn't have a CD Lightscribe drive (I!)... then when I just tried to burn the music on the CD, he didn't do it either... Finally a week ago, I tried to play a movie on my laptop, and that does not work either.
When I insert in the film or the cd, the drive lights up and I can hear the work, but it is as if she has no connection with my laptop and my laptop is not picking up the CD/DVD drive try to play a movie or a cd.
A friend suggested that I go to the HP website and am trying to download a driver, but I didn't know what to do once I got to this website, and I don't know if it will work.
If you know how to solve this problem, or if you have had a similar problem with your computer, please help, thank you.

Portege Z930-118 does not recognize the external USB CD/DVD drive
My new Z930-118, with windows 7 64 bit home, does not recognize the external CD/DVD drive when I plug it into the USB port.
The CD/DVD device does not even appear at all in Device Manager.
The reader is a SE-S084 Samsun and works well on another laptop.
I already checked for the "upper_filter", "lower_filter" with the regedit, but entries are not there, so no help.
Hello
I m not very well how to help you.I found some information about this WEIRD disc and it seems that he didn't need an external power supply. Its USB bus powered so I guess around 500mA power since it is the default value provided by a USB 2.0 port.
I don t think that there is a problem of missing software. It is a plug n play device so you need to connect it to the USB port and the system should automatically recognise.
From my point of view of the few you try to connect the external USB ODD two ports to aid a * Y * Cableusb.
I think the reader needs more power provided by a single USB port. -

Satellite 1900 (PS192E) - does not recognize the CD/DVD
Hey all,.
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite 1900 (PS192E) and place an old 20 GB HDD from an old laptop.
When I boot, the screen is in VGA 16 color mode, it recognizes the DVD player, but does not recognize the CD/DVD when inserted. I tried to install and run the utility "driver robot" Toshibas, but the display is such that I see all of the screen to start the search.
If there is someone out there who could give me some advice, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you very much
James
Hello
OK, you have installed the disk HARD of another laptop but too format the HARD drive? I mean if the HARD drive performed from another laptop, you need to reinstall Windows because now you have other hardware installed.
What version of Windows is it?If you want to install a driver for the graphics card go into Device Manager and select Update driver.

Satellite L750 does not recognize an external microphone
My laptop does not recognize any external audio input device plugged into the mic port.
I have a Satellite L750 running Windows 7 with the Conexant HD Audio Smart.
I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal mic.
When I go into the sound properties, under the recording tab, it is only the internal mic. There is no option for an external mic.
I tried updating the driver for sound card, remove the card driver sound and re - install, check all the properties under sound properties, but there is no option for the external microphone.
I tried Googling the problem but nobody seems to have a viable solution.
Please can someone help me get the laptop to recognize an external mic.
> I want to record using external mixer. I am connect the output of the bureau in the 3.5 mm microphone port, but it seems that it is still just using the internal microphone
Start a test: take an external microphone, connect it to the laptop and use a Windows 7 Audio Recorder utility (can be found in all programs-> Accessories) to record an audio sample.
Is this possible?
I think that the microphone that appears in the control-> audio-> recording tab panel is the external microphone jack.
You can also click right in the recording tab and must mark the options: show disconnected devices and devices to see the disabled.By the way: find an old thread you created here on the similar theme:

I advise to use only a single thread to continue the discussions. -

I tried a few of the fixes recommended on other forums, but none of them work. The hard drive comes up is the list in Device Manager, and all my usb drivers are up to date. The hard drive works perfectly on other devices. Other work of readers of fine nib. Normally when the hard drive connected to the aa one device in flashing lights. This does not happen when I connect it to my laptop.
Any help much appreciated.
Make sure you use your laptop, 3 USB ports, not then a USB 2 port to see if one will work. If it does not power up to contact Western Digital for support.
Good luck.
