  • Error: "there was a disk error when you write to the file C\:Program files (x 86) \microsoft games\dungeon siege\resources\objects.dsres" during the installation of Dungeon Siege.

When I try to install it it comes up with an error about 16% in the installation, saying that there is a disk error when you write to the file C\:Program files (x 86) \microsoft games\dungeon siege\resources\objects.dsres

    Any ideas?

    Hi MouseToe,

What version of Dungeon Siege you trying to install?

The cause of this problem could be the corrupted resource (.dsres) file or disk error. Here are some things you can do to solve the problem.

Method 1: Run the disk check.

Check the integrity of your hard disk for lost clusters and errors.

To do this, follow the steps in this article: check a drive for errors

Method 2: Defragment the hard disk.

This improves the performance of your hard drive.

Reference: improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive

Method 3: Run the game as administrator.

    Here's how:

    (a) right click on the game configuration file.

    (b) choose 'Run as administrator'.

Method 4: Try to install the game in a different folder or to a different drive

Try to install the game in a different folder. If the computer has another hard disk, try to install the game on the other hard drive.

    Follow these steps.

    a. Insert the game disc in the drive.

Note: Do not click on Quick Installation during installation.

    b. follow the setting menus until you see the change button.

    c. click change.

    d. in the path box, delete the existing path, and then type the following text:

    drive: \Program Files\Microsoftgame name Games\

In this example, drive is the letter of the hard disk drive and the name of the game is the name of the game you are trying to install.

    e. click OK when finished.

    f. follow the instructions that appear on the screen to install the game.

    This should be it.

  • Remove the Microsoft games

I want to delete Microsoft Games to free up space on my internal hard drive, but getting a warning that deletion could cause problems with other programs. I don't have any idea what to do.

You are DELETING or uninstalling?  They usually have different meanings.  If you uninstall, you should be safe.  If you try to delete files or folders, which can lead to problems.

    Good luck.

Well, this is not possible. Microsoft games cannot be deleted. Games Microsoft is integrated with the operating system and is considered as system files and therefore cannot be deleted.

  • The icon in the tray of the microsoft game keeps jumping to the left.

Since the upgrade from Vista to Windows7, I got a problem when you play Microsoft games. The icon that lays in the status bar keeps jumping to the left and flashing is seen with her. It seems that the game wants to minimize what he has done many times. I don't know how to stop this as this never happened in vista. I have updated all drivers for my software, including the graphics card. Can someone help me with what I or my little girl can't use the application of games.

    Hello

    1. the problem occurs only with the Microsoft games?

    2. did you of recent changes made to your computer before the problem?

    3. are you referring to the Explorer of games that are pre-installed in Windows 7 or Microsoft games that require intense graphics?

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

Try pinning to the taskbar and check if the icons keep jumping around.

    Step 2:

Make the SFC scan on your computer to check if the problem persists. This is done to repair or recover any corrupt or missing system files.

    Step 3:

Put your computer in a clean boot State and check if the problem persists.

Note: Follow step 7 to restart the computer in normal mode.

    Step 4:

  • Closed project: MMORPG video game for PC "Mythica" developed by Microsoft Game Studios

    Hello

I'm a fan of RPG games, and I intend to do a mod inspired for the MMORPG project developed by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was called "Mythica", and its development was cancelled in 2004.

I would like to know if the content of this game is protected copyright or if they are entirely free to use or only in part. I am interested in everything: main plot, talents, spells, skills, animation, 3d models (Humanoids, creatures, items, weapons, buildings), quests, gameplay, visuals, sounds, music, cinematic, textures, concept arts and anything that can help me develop my MOD.

I was the head of the Italian community of "Mythica" and I remember I was in contact with the Manager of Mythica Yee Lila "Jadedragonfly" community, but now I've lost his contacts. If you know if I can connect with someone, it would be very appreciated (e-mail, fax, phone, a name of a person).

    Thank you all!

    Vito "Enchanter" Gigante.

If you wish to contact microsoft, the only way I know is to send a letter to:

    Microsoft Corporation
    One Microsoft Way
    Redmond, WA 98052-6399
    U.S..

Or phone any number of MS and ask them to redirect your call to the right person.

  • Loss of microsoft games

Reinstallation of windows after installing a new hard drive for extra memory my Microsoft games: solitaire, Maryse Titans, mahjong, etc. were lost. How can I get back them? Can I get a download?

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

You can find them by clicking on Start -> all the programs -> games.  If they do not appear here, they could not be installed.  To install the standard games, click on the Start button, type programs and featuresand click the enter key.  In the left pane, clickfeatures on or off, of URN WindowsT.  You should see a folder called games.  Check the box next to games, click OK, and they will all be installed.   Is that if you are on a domain and the system administrator has disabled the option of games.  Then, you might be out of luck.

  • Age of Empires 3 does not start on a vista machine, get this error "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\d3dx9_25.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."

I'm trying to play age of Empires 3 on my computer running windows vista Home premium and the program does not start. I get the error message: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires III\d3dx9_25.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." I tried many suggestions from Microsoft (resettlement program, reinstall in safe mode, update & reinstall the drivers for my video card, the compatibility issues with vista, updating and reinstalling directx 9.0 c, install vista service packs 1 & 2) but nothing has worked so far. I was able to play the game on the same computer with windows xp installed (it's a different hard drive that is not in the computer, and everything is the same) and it worked fine. My computer is old enough, but like I said the game worked before installing vista. ASUS A7N8x deluxe, AMD Athlon xp 3200 +, ATI radeon 9600, 2 GB OCZ ram that all suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

    Hi Raygun55,

Welcome to Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

This problem may occur if the Microsoft DirectX file that is mentioned in the error message is damaged or is not copied correctly.

I suggest that you copy the file manually by following the steps and check if you are able to play the game without any problems:

    Manually copy the file

To do this on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps:

1 insert the disc 1 CD for one of the following games into the player from the computer:

    o Age of Empires III

    o Fable: The Lost Chapters

    o Zoo Tycoon 2

o Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends

    2. click on start to reduce this includes this image and then click Documents.

    3. Locate, and then click computer.

    4. search and then click on the CD drive.

    5. Locate and then click the following folder:

    CD player :\ DirectX9

Note In this folder path, the CD player represents the drive letter of the CD drive.

6 double-click on Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab, right click on d3dx9_25.dlland then click copy.

In Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, double click Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x64.cab right-click d3dx9_27.dlland then click copy.

Note Use the Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cab file for the x 64 version of the Windows operating system.

    7. find one or more of the following folders, depending on the games that are installed on the computer:

By car : \Program Files\Microsoft: Age of Empires III

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

    By car : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\Rise of legends

Note In these folder paths, drive represents the letter of the drive where the game is installed.

    8. right click on the folder of the game which is the part that is installed on the computer, and then click Paste.

Note If you have installed more than one game on the computer, repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other games.

You can check the link for more information: error message when you try to start a Microsoft game: "the file d3dx9_XX. DLL was not found": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910813

Alternatively, you can try to install the game in XP compatibility mode and check if you are able to play or not.

Right-click on the game > click Properties > click on the Compatibility tab > select for XP compatibility mode > click OK.

Let me know if it worked.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • What is the philosophy of Microsoft Games?

What is Microsoft game division based entirely on the theory that if a thousand monkeys gathered in a room are trained in the code one of them is bound to come with a brilliant piece of programming? I wanted to ask the question in the games section, but the microsoft Web site could not connect miserably and then told me something in the sense of "Oops, that should not have events, whatcha going to do lol. Which defines pretty much the entire company...

The reason why I consider this a legitimate question is that the game Zoo Tycoon games was both released with huge bugs which made the demi-casse games if not completely unplayable.
