  • Microsoft has stopped support for Windows 7 Media Center's Electronic Programming Guide?

I've been using the Windows 7 Media Center to watch and record local televisions more of one year.  Now, my guide-schedule is not download new data.  I tried several times to update manually the programming data.  The EPG shows the update succeeded, but no new data is displayed.  Microsoft stopped providing data to guide programming?  If Microsoft still provides programming data, what can I do to fix the problem?  PS: I have similar problems on a second computer.

After re - run the TV Setup at least 100 times, it * finally * downloaded and updated to the source of Rovi.

Keep trying, it will work eventually.  Try to run the TV setup during off-peak hours, such as early in the morning.

  • Microsoft has employees or contractors call peoples houses and make repair unsolicited requests?

Recently I received two calls from people who say they work for windows saying that something is wrong with my computer.  The first guy ended up trying to sell me a package of protection.  The second guy who never had until now because I did not.  The question is this.  Microsoft has employees or contractors call peoples houses and make repair unsolicited requests?  This question is not to accuse Microsoft anything, but is designed to help me decide if these calls come from someone with no connection to Microsoft trying to take advantage of me.  Thank you.

No, Microsoft did not do. It's a scam and with various

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, who knows what they were doing or where
    What confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.
