Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 not detected by Skype.

My Skype is 6.20

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium

I found my old webcam and I wanted to Skype with a few people, but for some reason any my Lifecam VX-6000 will not be detected by Skype. I already tried to reinstall the drivers and revert to a version of Skype, but Skype doesn't always detect it. It installed fine I can boot the device in Device Manager and it works very well and even Google Hangouts may fall within the webcam.

So why Skype does not detect the webcam?

The latest version supports video without SSE2 was 6.1. However, this version, as well as all the Skype versions prior to 6.14 are now retired and can no longer be used.

  • Where are the pictures stored when taking a picture using the Microsoft Lifecam HD 6000?

Microsoft lifecam hd 6000 image storage

    Hi all

Does anyone know where the photo store, after I take photos using microsoft lifecam hd 6000?

    Thank you.

You can check if the pictues were stored in the folder %Temp%.

Click on Start and then run.

In the text box on the run window, type %temp% , and then click OK.

A folder full of files and other folders will appear.

You can search by the date field for the day that you were using your WebCam. If the pictures are not saved, you can search for them by name. If you cannot find them by searching, photos no longer on your computer.

If you want to increase the space available, all the folders and files that you see in this Temp folder are no longer used by Windows XP and can be deleted safely.

To remove files or individual files, hold your Ctrl key while clicking on each item you want to remove. Release the Ctrl key when you are finished.

To remove these items, press your delete key or choose file , then delete from the menu.

Confirm that you want to delete the files by clicking Yes in the window to confirm deleting multiple files that opens.

After all the files have been deleted, you can close the window and empty your trash, permanently remove the files from your PC.

To ensure that the pictures of the webcam are saved for next time, you need to manually back up.

Let us know if that helps.

  • Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 "initialization error".

I'm running the 64-bit version of Windows & RC and I can't get my Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 to work.  The installation disc returns an error on known incompatibility issues and does not load software or drivers.  Windows 7 find a driver online and installed it and now the camera software loads, but gives the "initialization error" message and a link the LifeCam help files.  There is no support for "initialization error".

  • Satellite L755D - Web cam/mic are not detected by Skype

    Good evening everyone,

I just noticed that when I install and open Skype, my built-in webcam and microphone are not detected by the application. He has worked in the past, but I've not had to use Skype for more than a year, so never noticed until now.

I checked the Device Manager and there is no webcam or microphone listed. I tried to search for new hardware, but it found nothing.

    Specifications of systems:

    OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
    Processor: AMD A8 - 3500M
Memory: 8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB Kingston sticks)
HARD drive: 750 GB Seagate Barracuda
The version of the BIOS: Insyde Corp. 2.10 (28/06/2012)

If any other info is needed to help diagnose and solve this problem, then please ask and I will provide.

    Thank you very much

    Michael

I guess the laptop not was not preinstalled with Win 8.1 but updated you the Win 7 system to Win 8.1.
    Is this correct?

I m application because it would be interesting to know if the webcam worked correctly using Win 7.
The driver for the webcam using Win 7 to be installed to get the webcam recognised.

To help to win 8.1 additional webcam driver is not necessary because it s already part of the Win 8.1 System. That is why the webcam should appear in the Device Manager without installation of the webcam driver.

However, some models of laptop supports additional webcam POWER setting in the BIOS.
Please check this option in the BIOS.

  • My Microsoft Lifecam program does not work

Today, I bought a Lifecam Cinema and I installed the Lifecam program but when I try to open the program I get the error message saying "LifeCam.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience. "and the program stops.

I would really appreciate if someone can help me get this program thank you.

Call technical support, as you can see they were able to help the poster in the linked post.

After that everything else that tent quite detailed post, the only other thing to consider (in addition to support) is to return your operating system to factory defaults via the recovery options (after the recording of all useful data) and try once more the LifeCam.  It is rather an overdose, which makes the Support technique the more viable option.  If they were able to come back to these "geometric files", they may have other tricks in their bag?

  • My computer says webcam not detected

I have a HP computer and I when I try to use the downloaded client webcam with my computer, CyberlinkYouCam, he says that the webcam is not detected. I went into the Device Manager screen to find it under imaging devices, but there is nothing there. I scanned for a new hard drive, downloaded the new software YouCam, but I don't know what else to do. It does not anywhere what the pilot is supposed to be, but I guess it comes to YouCam. I read a lot of questions but nothing says what happens if you can't find what you did driver, or if it does not work. It's a built-in camera.

    Hello

Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft Community Forums. You have reached the right place. Let us work together to find the cause of this problem and try to solve.

    1. What is the model of the CyberlinkYouCam number?
    2. do you get an error message?

When you install the Microsoft LifeCam software, and then you plug the LifeCam hardware, the LifeCam hardware is not detected. In addition, in Device Manager, the properties for the LifeCam entry display one of the following codes. I suggest you try the steps from the following links and see if that helps.
