Microsoft Office 2003 in Microsoft vista Ultimate icon display problem.

Hello

I have a computer laptop sony vaio with Windows Vista Ultimate Microsoft. I have connected to the external portable hard drive in Windows XP system as a hard drive. I got the backu. After that, I connected the hard drive of my laptop. then after Microsoft Office icons are not showing in correctly. its unknown icon of projection. but my office applications work properly. Can I recharge the icons as a same as before. I use office 2003.

Can someone help me please.

I don't know if it will work in these conditions, but you can try to rebuild the icon cache:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/117229-icon-cache-rebuild.html.

If it does not, go to Windows Explorer and check C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Office\ (at this point I don't know what he could tell - perhaps Office 11 or something like that - because I don't have any more than the desktop version and I forgot how the folder structure is named - but you want the folder containining (, all the program icons to start the Office programs) and see if the executable program icons have changed as well.  If not, right-click on each one and then click on create a shortcut (desktop) - do it twice, so you will have one for the office and another to replace the one that is not going to start (and how much more you need based on the number of shortcut icons that you have).  If the icons of the programs also display incorrectly.

If it does not, then there is no specific functionality of Ofice 2003 (or later versions) to simply change the icons to their original forms.  Try the repair Office option in the:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821593.  One of the options included (that can be verified) is to restore the desktop shortcuts and which can solve the problem.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Windows Vista Ultimate had some problem so I installed another a thought that whoever has the problem would be to replace it with the new, but he does not. So now I'm stuck with 2 Windows Vista Ultimate on my computer and it take so much space. So my question is: how to remove or uninstall Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. Even if you have a little idea, submit it.*

    Alyosha

    Alyosha,

Remove or uninstall Windows Vista is possible in specific scenarios. You please clarify how you did your installation of Windows Vista?

    1. have you installed your new ultimate configuration on a new partition?

    2. have you you choose customized and placed the installation in the same partition as your old ultimate configuration? In this case you see two Windows folder in your C: drive / drive (or any other partition)? (Possibly with the .old extension)

For installation of two operating systems to Windows Vista on two separate partitions study the following:

Before you begin you will need your Installation of Vista support

    • Formatting a volume will destroy all data on the partition. Be sure to make backups of all the data to save before you begin.
    • You cannot format a disk or partition that is currently in use, including the partition that contains Windows.
    • Quick format is a formatting option that creates a new file table, but do not completely overwrite or erase the volume. A quick format is much faster than a normal format, which fully erases the existing data on the volume.

  • Impossible to install Office 2003 on Windows 7 Starter netbook

Hi - I'm looking for help in setting up my office 2003 DVD on my netbook.  I tried to connect a DVD player to my netbook (not good) and followed with a copy of the contents of entires of the DVD to my netbook via a flash drive (also not good).

In both scenarios, I get the following error:
Installation of Microsoft Office 2003: error 1723.  There is a problem with the Windows Installer package.  A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. »

Cords or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Steve Heff,.

You receive this error Windows Installer error 1723 when installing a program. Installation can be terminated prematurely, or there may be a fatal error during installation. Windows Installer error 1723 occurs because Windows Installer cannot start the source files for the configuration of the software application you are trying to install. These files may be missing or damaged. In general, the original MSI installation files will be cached in the ' C: winntInstaller directory before installation begins. Inappropriate caching of a file MSI is main causes of errors, too.

First of all, check if the Windows Installer service is started in the Services.

    1. click on start.
2 type Service to start the search.
    3. Locate the Windows Installer Service in the Services window.
    4. make sure that the service is started, if it is to restart the service and check.

Now try to install Microsoft Office and check.

If you are unable to install, then I suggest that you uninstall all files related to Microsoft Office 2003 by using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

See link: use the utility Windows Install CleanUp to remove Office 2000, Office XP or Office 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Now try to install Office and check.

  • Hard drive problems Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

Well guys, that it left me speechless.  I recently inherited a laptop from a friend who is fairly new and in good condition.  The laptop, a Toshiba Techra A9, installed Windows Vista Ultimate.  The problem that I seem to have with the laptop is that it will start Windows in normal mode but gets up to a certain point and then hangs up.  I can hear the drive trying to be rolled up and continues to make a rattling noise, similar to a folder that jumps.  The funny thing is that I can turn the machine off and restart in SafeMode w / networking with no problems.  I tried a hard drive cool to think the problem could be a faulty drive, however, the new drive does the same thing.  I installed Vista via the Toshiba Recovery CD, and from the beginning for the first time Windows has frozen, the new hard drive making the same noise as the old.  Anyone out there have any ideas why this is happening?  Install a new hard drive and having the same problem son believe me that it is related Windows or I'll have another hardware problem elsewhere on the machine.  Thank you!!

Try to check the drivers on the computer to the hard drive. If you can, go to the MMC Console in computer management, go to the Device Manager, and then in the console tree, you should see a line of 'hard drives. Down there, you should be able to see your hard drive. Right-click and click Properties, then go to the drivers of the popup window and note the driver version number. Check on the Toshiba site and see if there are updates to the hard disk driver. If there is, then install it. In addition, you can start safe mode and run your antivirus, assuming that he himself has not been compromised. It seems to be a software problem or driver since you say that you can start safe mode. • Satellite A200 - PSAF6A Vista: HDMI video resolution problem

    Hello

Bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 recently, with a HD2600. Because I can't find an APA Help Forum, I hope someone can help me here.

    I have the following problem.
I use another manufacturer AL2216W (the only available driver is for XP, which I installed it on Vista Ultimate without any problems) widescreen 22'.

The monitor is capable of displaying 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz). If I connect it to the analog port of the laptop, I can select the resolution and it works very well.

If I connect it to (via a DVI - D to HDMI Cable adapter) HDMI port on my laptop, the highest resolution is only 1440 x 900. I already installed the drivers several times, but it does not show the resolution 1680 in digital mode.

The strange thing is that the monitor is correctly identified with the resolution to 1680 x 1050.

I use the extended view option, since I want to use both screens.

    Thank you

What do you think of technical requirements?
Maybe the graphics card does not offer this resolution for HDMI port. I don't think you can solve this problem with the latest driver from Toshiba. I know that you want to have the digital signal, but if nothing works try to use this adapter.
