Microsoft Remote Desktop Security?

My it guy at work gave me remote access to resources Office for the company. I use my personal mac for access to this. I can see my hard drive mac if I have access to the resources windows Explorer. Can anyone on the end of businesses see my files personal mac?

No, they can't, you're safe.  Remote Desktop is practically mapping those to you for your own convenience during your remote session.  And if you do not need them, you can even turn them off in remote desktop options before connect you.

It's Windows 7, but the mac client is very similar.  Looking for an option like this:

  • Microsoft on a Mac Remote Desktop

I have a user who wants to use a desktop app remotely in distance back to his PC Windows7 of his Macbook pro.  I could download and install Microsoft remote desktop 8.0.9 from the Apple app store, but I am unable to connect to the computer, it keeps on indicating that the RDP client impossible to connect and to verify that the name of the PC is correct or enter the IP address.   I greeted the remote to the PC on the side user PC Windows7.  The Macbook pro is running OSX Mavericks 10.9.4.  I was wondering if there are any known issues with this version of RDP works perhaps only not with the OS X version?  I got lucky in the past be able remotely on Windows PC from a MAC using the RDP Windows client, but a hard time working on my version.  Maybe I should try a 3rd party RDP client?

    Rob

There is a much easier way.  There is a 3rd party called team app Viewer that is used by millions of pro.  I use it about 6 hours a day and it's free, bullet proof and easy to use.

  • Keeps remote desktop abandon the connection

    Hello

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 Windows 8. The main question that I have now with Windows 8, it is the remote desktop client is somehow broken for me. Whenever I use it, it blocks (i.e. I can't interact with the remote computer) and then I get the box of Pseudo-dialogue indicating reconnection it will reconnect and I return the remote access. He does it all the time (about every few minutes). Note that when I can't interact with the computer to remove it, I can still ping it very well. Clearly, it is not a connection problem.
It seems to be a problem with Microsoft Remote Desktop Client because I'm so tired, I tried 2 alternatives: terminals and mRemoteNG. Their use, never removes the connection.
However, I would like to use the Microsoft client as it is more convenient to use. I tried to copy some binary files from Windows XP or Windows 7, but they do not work properly when I try to run them, I guess it's more than a simple 'mstsc.exe' to copy (I copied c:\windows\system32\mstscax.dll thus, but it kept loading of Windows 8).
    Anyone with a similar problem?
    Thank you
    Manu

A fix came out 11/13 which appears to solve the problem for me. The number is 2897602.

  • The security when you use hotels remote desktop?

I'm not sure where this investigation should go - maybe someone can correct me if needed.

We travel often.  I take my Windows 7 laptop with me and hotel networks allows to connect to my computer via desktop remotely, so that I can continue to do banking online, documentation, etc.  However, I am very concerned by the networks hotel being compromised, such that someone could be sniffing keyboard entries and looking for passwords and account information. I have considered two workaround solutions to hide what I do on my machine at home, but am not sure if they would actually work. One is to use the screen keyboard and the other is to have a copy of the text of the passwords I use available on my home computer and copy and paste passwords from secure documents / web pages, I want to access.

I guess that these two approaches would create only generic 'clicks' which don't contain any actual data which could be read through the network. Am I correct that?

    Hello

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

There are a few additional steps you can take to limit access to the remote desktop.

    1. you can specify that only certain users have access to this PC with remote desktop during installation.

    2. you can also use another port to connect through.

a: you can find more information on these options here.

    3. you can also see some good information in general on Remote Desktop here.

Regarding the overall security on your PC, you can configure the BitLocker Drive encryption.  BitLocker allows you to avoid any documents to the more secure passwords by encrypting the entire drive which is Windows and your data.  For more information on BitLocker and how to put in place, please check out the link here.

  • Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center 2.3.188.0 is not Exchange buttons of the mouse correctly with Windows Remote Desktop

I use Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center for years with no problems. For example, version 2.2.173.0 worked well. I use Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

I swapped the buttons on my Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 (so that the right button's "click" and the left button displays a context menu, for example). When I connect to a remote computer, traded buttons continue to operate as programmed.

Just set Windows Update to update my mouse and keyboard Center to the 2.3.188.0 version. Now when I use the Windows Remote Desktop to connect to another computer that is running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, my button is not honored. In other words, on the local computer, the right button of the mouse is 'click '. On the remote computer, the left mouse button is 'click '. The keys are reversed on the local computer, as I have it configured, but not on the remote computer.

I called Microsoft and was transferred to various departments. I would like to report this bug, although I have to pay out of pocket, but there seems to be no way to report this bug.

Is there a way to report this bug to Microsoft? Is there a solution? How can I revert to a previous version of Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center?

I suggest to perform a restore of the system to a restore point before the update.

You can also uninstall the keyboard and the mouse Center programs and features.

Then, go to this site and download the previous version.

(I couldn't find any previous version on Microsoft sites, but I checked the file hash values, I downloaded Microsoft previously).
