Microsoft Security Essentials replaces Windows Defender and what is the difference?

Microsoft Security Essentials has a download of much larger definitions (45 MB) Windows Defender (about 13 MB). That means more MSE WD do? The current definitions of MSE download contains the same version of engine 1.1.5502.0 as the current update of WD. How about a link to MS site to learn what MSE; In addition, compared to the WD curiously enough, can not find such a link on the MSE sites.

Norton, to less than the latest version, is a Devourer of known resources.
TeaTimer, I used when children used the PC, because they moved I uninstalled SpyBot.
In all the years using Windows XP, from time to time the navigation were I shouldn't, I have never had problems. I use F-Secure for the past 2 years, very occasionally run malaware application manually, it never finds anything

    Yes.

Hello, just to be sure I have the correct information, Windows Defender lights not in Windows Vista with Microsoft Security Essentials, as Essentials has its own version of the Defender.  The error code I received is the same as the previous posts in which is: 0x800106ba.  Again, just to be sure, I understand, I should stop trying to turn Defender because Security Essentials has covered it, okay?

    Hello

Yes; Microsoft Security Essentials should disable Windows Defender for the reasons you mentioned.

If she didn't turn it off, you should manually have to do it anyway.

    This information explains Microsoft explained:

Q: is - this installation of Microsoft Security Essentials (XP/Vista/7) disable Windows Defender?
    A:
Microsoft Security Essentials should disable Windows Defender in Vista and Windows 7, and then uninstall it from XP. In some cases, this does not happen automatically.

Q: what happens if I do not disable or uninstall Windows Defender, if I use Microsoft Security Essentials (XP/Vista/7)?
A: If Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Defender are both running, your system can know the performance degradation and other problems caused by the conflict of two services providing real-time protection at the same time.

  • After using windows for some time Defender, I am now trying microsoft "security essentials". My question is what is the best? Security Essentials or Windows Defender.

For all my other security I use norton 360 v 4.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

For all my other security I use norton 360 v 4.

DO NOT RUN MSE AND NORTON AT THE SAME TIME!

You will crash your PC often and it will become very slow.

  • I just installed Windows Defender, but he does not see my Windows XP Security Center. I had to install Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows to see any antivirus. Why?

I removed Bitdefender because it slowed my computer down a lot. I then installed Windows Defender and updated and scanned the computer (no problem) and said it was "protect my computer". But the Windows Security Center does not see any antivirus, until I installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Why? And are two antivirus programs now runmning together?

Microsoft Security Essentials need to uninstall Windows Defender when it is installed. If youshould not uninstall via Add/Remove programs. See the following topics:

  • I just bought an iPhone 6 so I need a sim card of nano or a normal sim card and what is the difference and where to buy it?

    Hello

Sorry for my ignorance but I just bought an iPhone 6 (my first) and I don't know anything about the purchase of a sim card. Do you advise me to buy a nano sim or a regular sim (my iPhone 4 has a sim card from Rogers) and what is the difference?

Whoever you are, thank you for your patience and your help.

The SIM card for the iPhone 4 is much greater. You need a SIM nano. That's the only size that fits. You get one of your carrier.

  • whisch are OK for undo_retention and what is the difference

    Hi all

whisch are OK for undo_retention and what is the difference

    SQL > select max (maxquerylen) of v$ undostat;

    MAX (MAXQUERYLEN)
    ----------------
    6060

    SQL > select max (maxquerylen) in the dba_hist_undostat;

    MAX (MAXQUERYLEN)
    ----------------

    Hi amal.

You can use begin_time & end_time v$ undostat-> to specify the time interval that you want.

A brief note, of what you discussed here:

    maxquerylen

Identifies the length of the longest request (in seconds) in the Forum during the period. You can use this statistic to estimate the right setting of UNDO_RETENTION initialization parameter. The length of a query is measured between the open time of cursor for the last time to fetch/execution of the cursor. As the length of these cursors that have been read/performed during the period are reflected in the view.

V$ UNDOSTAT is dynamic, display of the current statistics.

DBA_HIST_UNDOSTAT displays the history of the histograms of statistical data to show how the system works. Available statistics include undo space consumption, simultaneity of the transaction and the length of queries in the instance. This view contains snapshots of V$ UNDOSTAT

    hope that helps.

    Kind regards
