Microsoft Silverlight not updating and uninstalling

I noticed that Microsoft Silverlight updates have not been installed for some time now and remain in the updates area important. So I tried the update and came with the file don't are not recognized or changed.  I thought then that I remove the program and all over again, but then I had this box (with the big red x in a circle) warning message on my screen

The Windows Installer

This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package

.. Please can you help me remove this program if I can install with new?

Hey Lord Dracon,

Try to uninstall Silverlight with Revo: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html mode advanced that sometimes helps when normal uninstallation methods fail.

If this does not work or if it does but you have problems to re - install Silverlight (possibly also because of Windows Installer), then check out the Silverlight Forum at the: http://forums.silverlight.net/13.aspx.  You can search for previously responds to questions or post your own new thread (like here).  I draw your attention to this subject more precisely which seems to contain information that should help you: http://forums.silverlight.net/t/234395.aspx/1?Cannot+update+uninstall+install+Silverlight+.

If the question is about the Windows Installer, it can help in the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso1.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    Method 1.
Let us scan SFC and check that it prevents this error to occur.

  • Dell inspiron 14/14R Touch - backup and recovery 1.5 not updated and I have windows 8.1?

    Hello

I have a laptop dell inspiron 14R/14 touch screen. I bought recently. It came with windows 8, and I have upgraded to windows 8.1. Now when I run the backup program and recovery dell he says there is a compatibility issue and I need to reinstall it. Currently, the installed version is 1.5.0.0. However some other dell sites, it is said that compatible with windows 8.1 version is like 1.6.x.x.

If I open the software and click Update, it says no updates are available. If I try to manually download the exe and run it, it says I need to uninstall the current version first. I don't want to do it and then find out that somehow, I can not install the new version...

Anyone know what is happening and how this can be fixed?

  • Windows 7 Ultimate is not updated and takes forever

I have a Windows 7 ultimate which I bought the product from a reseller key. Microsoft has accepted the product key and my Windows is activated. It does not, however, accept updates (I want to convert it to 10 and I tried to do this but was again stick to updates). I called Microsoft as well, but they said I have a MSDN key. I asked the dealer and then he gave another key. The product is activated second time around, but updates still stuck to "search for update" (the same message went on for 4-5 hours without any updates and then I turned it off). Can anyone help?

And how to solve?

    Hello, Josée.

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

    1. You are connected with a Microsoft or a local account?
    2. What are the applications outside of the app Store that do not work?
    3. All Windows updates are installed?
    4. Do you use a proxy connection to connect to the internet?

    5. You have security software installed on the computer?

You can try to follow the steps described in the following and see if it works for you.

After the execution of the method 1 try to open applications. If you are still unable to open applications and download from app Store then try to follow the methods below.

    1. Double-click the current time on the lower right of your screen.

    2. Then click on change time date, then click on the button to change time zone

    3. Select your time zone and the tick to automatically adjust clock for time, then press OK

    4. Then press on apply and OK.

    Method 3:

If you are using a connection through proxy, then try to disable the proxy and then check if the problem persists.

Follow the steps to disable the proxy:

    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options
    3. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings
    4. Uncheck the Server Proxy use.
    5. Click on apply then Ok to save the changes.

Now, check if you have access to app store.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

  • crashes CS4 from CS3 - Installer update and uninstall it now says bad install the database.

I tried all day get my CS3 update for my CS4.

    (a) CS3 is still present (at least one program I checked). I could disable this morning and reactivate later.

    (b) tried google and read this: installation program crashes. Control system profile | CS4, Photoshop Elements 8

    (c) have done a lot of things, but not yet able to update.

    (d) and as seems to be the Community (thank you) rather than public support - where is adobe support now (as he sent me in this way, rather than to 'support'). that is, not really sure of who I am "talk" also, obviously need/want to protect my privacy, etc..

    Thank you for your links.

    Re: CS3 and (later installs).

I was able to install CS3 on Windows 7 without problem - once I put the date in 2009 or 2010. The problem I found was that program Adobe update on media I have seems to think that the world has ended and refuses to accept the activation code. With the clock set back - CS3 install, update the update, and then he works as well as can be expected.

Re: CS4 - I've updated several times in the past - and never had a problem. My fear is that I am disabling CS3 in time so I can install it again, later, if necessary. (My CS4 package is an update and installed CS3 seems to work for the update better).

As installation CS3 is always a risk - like systems get latest - I'm afraid I do too.

In any case, thanks for the links - some I knew, more that I want that I never needed to know

p.s., Adobe contacted me - and I'll get in touch with them when I have the time to call.

If the above does not work, try to make a Bootable ERD to do a Startup Repair:

As is the case with most computers/laptops these days, they do not come with good Vista disc to repair only the recovery disks.

As your grave in the category above, download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

You can make a tool to restart system, System Restore, etc. with it.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista repair disc.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

There is not a disk of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
