Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter not displayed in the window of adding hardware under common hardware Types.

I have a HP Pavilion P6 desktop computer running Windows7 and in devices and printers , I noticed that my computer has a yellow triangle that relates to Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter.  To address this issue, I note that this device is not displayed in the window of adding hardware under common hardware Types, but I listed it in the Device Manager.

I tried several attempts to reinstal, but not joy.  Can anyone suggest how I can restore this device?

In the Properties window, it shows a Code 10.  This device cannot start.

Tunneling is required only if you have a printer that requires it.  Here is how to re - install if you do

It is a known problem if you have Zone alarm installed.  If you have installed remove it at least to check

To disable Teredo tunneling 6to4 interface open an elevated command prompt and type

netsh interface set terredo disabled state.
To re - install
  1. Click on start.
  2. Type Device Manager in the start search box, and then open it.
  3. Click the Action tab on top and click Add legacy hardware
then click next and next again, he will then scan and find nothing then click on the screen after that.
Wait a minute and you will see a list of devices appear, scroll and select network adapters and click Next, then in the left column choose Microsoft then in the right hand column scroll down and choose Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter, and then click Next and it will install it.
To check simply do as it is set to show hidden devices right click on the Device Manager right click view, then show hidden devices.
If there is no option "Add Hardware inherited", you need to connect the unit using the tunneling.

    Hi Binet1,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion g6-2225tu issues of driver for laptop and have on the Teredo Tunneling pseudo-interface. Right click and delete all Teredo Tunneling pseudo-interface. Restart the computer. You could update driver software by right click, browse computer for driver software. Select let me pick from a list of device on my computer-> network adapter drivers > Microsoft > adapter Microsoft Teredo tunneling.  You can enable system restore by following this document.

I think I'm ready for questions on the Teredo in the forums.  I tried these "FixIt", and nothing works.  It w/b well if Microsoft had a site to find this Teredo so that we can download a 'new '.  The defective one I have on my desk is dated 2006.  Really frustrating to continue in these wild pursuits to find a 'solution' to the Teredo Tunneling adapter.

    Hi Alice,.

Thank you for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have a problem with Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter. I will help you solve the problem.

Before we continue, we need more information to help you better.

    1. Did you change to the computer?
    2. Do you get any error messages when you try to use Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter?
    3. Have you installed a third-party software on your computer?

As you have tried some troubleshooting steps, I suggest you disable third-party security software installed on your computer (if there is) temporarily and update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

Update a hardware driver that is not working properly.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Turn off the Antivirus:

Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I suggest you check suggestions provided by Nithyananda J from the following link to see if it can help solve the problem.

  • Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter, can not start correctly

    When I run my health system monthly report the resource and performance monitor told me that;

A device has a configuration problem that prevents it from starting correctly.

    Hi Harshhh36,

Usually, after the computer restarts, the drivers install automatically and it will stop the errors.

You can also refer to the computer or the network card manufacturer's Web site to download and install the latest version of the drivers for the network card.

You can also check in the updates of windows updates available for the network adapter driver.

  • Microsoft teredo Tunneling adapter's driver driver problems

Hello you signed up for the first time and by publishing too. Ive never had problems with my laptop Acer Aspire 7540, it's a windows 7 64-bit. Recently, Ive noticed it is very often the Crackle from audio sources, mainly when researched online, not so much by using WMP. As a result, I had a quick look around my PC and found I have a "!" mark to the icon for laptop. He asserts that this Teredo Tunneling adapter driver issues. I tried following the instructions on the screen to fix this, but he came to failure and the State of "Details" that there is a "problem with PNP devices.

I had a look on google and tried the advice to go to my network connections and sΘlectionnΘe wireless network connection, click with the right button on properties and confirmed that IPV6 (TCP/IPv6) has been activated, so I guess I can exclude that as a problem.

There is also a connection to the local area network and Wireless Network Connection 2 listed under network connections both have red "x" next to them. I use wireless, like my mother on his Acer laptop. LAKE says "network cable Unplugged, WNC2 States 'not connected'.

I came Acer to reinstall the driver, but when entering my S/n number or SNID happens model unrecognized. When entering ACer ASpire 7540 a list of drivers is here but nothing called Teredo.

Would appreciate any help that anyone can give. Don't even know if this driver will fix sound problems, or if my speakers are simply disappeared (lol), but I would like to do, of course, I have all work as good as possible.

    Thanks again

The Microsoft Teredo Tunneling adapter isn't a default device you see in Device Manager.

Something else has created a problem on the system.

    Original title - trobleshooting driver

Microsoft teredo tunneling adapter has a driver problem. I got this message when I have my PC troubleshooting

my PC is HP Compaq 615 Windows 7. How can I solve this problem?

Uninstall the adapter Teredo, ISATAP, IPV6 nor Microsoft 6 to 4 cards and by going to control panel > system > Device Manager > view > show hidden devices, and then expand the network adapters entry and do a right click either disable or uninstall one of the adapters I mentioned, and then restart your computer.

You need not Teredo adapter to connect to a domain or a shared drive, and the special features of Microsoft claims to offer with the Teredo adapter do not work in Windows 7 in any case.

    I'm running a 3 month old

So, I tried to recover a pilot starting from the backups that I did the day I bought the computer, that didn't work. The computer is already set to seek info additional driver online, which didn't work and it has not found any fix driver. I went to my device manager looking for the problem and found the! pilot issue, clicked on the tab and I tried to update the driver, but he came back with a back that my driver was updated and works very well... which is obviously not the case.

I did several searches for the card Tunneling of Microsoft, but do not work, and still less a pilot that I could find. The path to find the real problem is Computer > Windows > System32 > Drivers > tunnel.sys

Anyone have an idea how I can find a fix for this problem?

    Any help would be appreciated

    = NanoSeven =

Very well! I found the problem!

Apparently if you are running Zone Alarm Firewall, it will deactivate this card under Win 7.

    The fix:

Open your Zone Alarm software and click the Firewall tab on the left, taking you to the main section, showing the different parameters of the area...

At the bottom right, click on the Advanced button, which will open a separate window listing several additional options.

At the bottom of this newly opened window, click the checkbox next to enable IPv6 networking. Save your settings and reboot.

    Hello Arthur,.

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

"Teredo" is a tunneling protocol designed to grant IPv6 connectivity to nodes that are located behind IPv6 NAT (network address translation) not compatible devices. It defines a way of encapsulating IPv6 packets in IPv4 UDP (User Datagram Protocol) datagrams can be routed through NAT devices, on the IPv4 internet.

I suggest you try using the steps described in Microsoft Knowledge base article.
