Microsoft thinks I have Windows 6.1
I bought this computer from Dell with a Windows 7 Premium Home Edition. I ran the toll of microsoft to see why I was not getting the icon for Windows 10 as the other 3 PC at home and she returned that I am 6.1, which I am not...
The tool you are using seems to be badly flawed. On your machine, according to your comments, it reports that you use Windows 6.1 (which does not exist). On one of my machines, it signals that I use Windows 7 Enterprise (for superior version of Windows). The fact is that I use Windows 7 Starter (the lower version).
I suggest that you download and run the upgrade using this link:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-10/media-creation-tool-install
Do not forget that, while most of the improvements seem to work well, many problems have been reported in these forums. The beach of minor hickups in totally unusable making machine. That's why I only upgrade a machine when there is an urgent need. I have also create and test an image of the drive system ahead while I have a rewritten safe path.

If you have Windows 8, then it has been upgraded. A system file is missing or damaged. The easy response is to back up your important files and do a full restore of the Hp system - this will eliminate completely all files and you need to reinstall your software and re-download the updates of Windows.
The hard method would be to read and execute the steps described in this document to support: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07850 -

Windows think I have a 3200 x 1800 display when I only 1600 x 900?
Hi, bought a HP Envy 14 TouchSmart k100 sleekbook today (demo, they were out of stock) and I have a major problem.
My OS (Windows 8.1 Pro) think I have a 3200 x 1800 screen, but I really have a 1600 x 900 screen. If I change my resolution of 1600 x 900, everything is super big and it is pretty useless. 3200 x 1800 is the best to use, but there were still some errors viewing. Most of the stuff is good, like the chrome etc, but text in windows is too big, and the startmenu (startmenu new-window) is too small.
Why is this? I have the latest nvidia AND intel grapich drivers, but they did not affect the error for me.
Here is how things looks at the http://i.imgur.com/mH2PvDa.jpg office
Edit: best example - http://i.imgur.com/5JnqeDI.jpg
Drumstic Hello, welcome to the Forums of HP.
I see that you have a discrepancy in the size of the font on a higher resolution on the screen. I will try to help you with this.
Research into the laptop and your question. I think you're confused size and resolution of the screen. The size of the screen of your laptop would be 14 "but the resoultion can be changed depending on which supports graphics. Your laptop is running dual graphics (Intel and Nvidia), from when you are able to achieve a higher resolution.
With regard to the text (as seems to be the main concern), try these document from Microsoft:

Get the best display on your monitorI hope that this could help you.

installed my windows 7 Home Premium on a new hard drive, but it says my key is invalid. I bought this copy of the microsoft store and have retained the email with the key.
To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.
