Microsoft Vista optional update - can I install driver updated listed as optional updates?

original title: optional update for Microsoft Vista

Hello

My laptop Toshiba Equium grandsons computer lists three updates from Microsoft under optional. It seems they could be updates to the driver.

My question can we just goahead with downloads or is there potential problems. Can simply consider us these three updates are all correct for the computer in question?

Updates include:

1 network - Atheros AR5006EG wireless network adapter.

2 Intel(r) mobile 945 Express Chipset Family

Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad 3.

Concerning

Do not install any driver updates offered by Windows Update. Find them in the manufacturer's website instead.

    Hello

When you reinstall the operating system, the hard drive is wiped clean of everything.

It's like starting all over, when he was in new condition.

See if you now have a windows.old folder.

If you do, which should contain your data: pictures, music, etc.

Programs need to be reinstalled. starting from the original media (CD, DVD or download Net).

I tried to install the drivers from a Web site of the manufacturer (canon), update the driver from windows, cd rom and my USB port. Nothing works. Hello

Have you made changes on the computer?

    Method 1:
You try to install the driver to boot, to troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • I have the software for the wheel to feed Force Microsoft SideWinder, but I can't install in windows vista 32 bit home edition

I have a real problem, try to get the sidewinder software to install to my wheel feed Force Microsoft, it sends a message indicating that it has problems of compatibility with the program and stops the installation

the name of the program is SWGameEn.exe he used to work in XP Pro why used it work in Vista 32-bit Home

Hi Mike I finally found a program that works with the Sidewinder wheel and Vista, it is only a small program, but it allows you to program all buttons on any controller.

I'll post a link here little time if you want me too, that way another person might benefit from also

    http://www.deinmeister.de/JCT.htm

It's all in German I think lol, but it's pretty easy to get out. Just run the program with your gamepad or steering wheel plugged in and press a button and watch the program, if button 1 is pressed then follow him up to the line upward with an empty square (left) and then click on the empty box (you will be asked for a key on the keyboard) press the key that you want to work with the key #1.

Then to activate the button make sure you click area is pressed next to the inline box keys with line #1-si someone can not understand my instructions, they can send me an email and I'll send them back with pictures that explain it better

    Click on my name

  • Vista x 64 can't install 3rd party software

Hello everyone. I have a very frustrating problem...

Whenever I have download no matter what program, when I try to install it, (including Firefox, iTunes, Chrome, etc.) vista will say either:
    The file is corrupted
Windows could not verify the Publisher
    A CRC error.

or simply the installation program does not (itunes)

I have restored the original image and I still have the same problem.

Use internet explorer, cannot install another browser.

Unchecked, check for signatures on downloaded programs' tab, still the same error in chrome.
Even when Save the installation on the drive and conduct there. I'm on the administrator account.

    I ran sfc/scannow
And he says: "Windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them."

I searched the net and found people with similar problems, but no solution. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Data sheet:

    Windows Vista Home Premium x64bit

    SP1

    Dell XPS 435 MT

    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz

    UPDATE:
The same problem was happening on my laptop running windows 7 and computer work laptop to my roommate running Linux. The problem (we believe) is our router/internet. Once I got to work today, I was able to update firefox, reinstall flash and install VLC media player.

I would suggest that anyone who knows a similar problem speak to their ISP and try (if you can) Download/update from somewhere else.

Thanks for all your suggestions, and I hope this helps.

  • New machine with OEM in XP and Vista HP disks - can I install both?

I just bought a HP class business that comes with the Vista professional and XP Pro OEM DVD, XP is preinstalled.

What I would do is to dual-boot Vista and XP. This is not possible, my secondary desire would be to partition the machine at least before reinstalling XP Pro so that I can easily upgrade to Windows 7 later.

When I run just the XP Pro DVD (which, for example on the front that it is for use only with the restore disc), it does not recognize my product key. When I use it in conjunction with the restore disc, my entire drive is automatically repartitioned with 1 large partition, and I don't see any option to configure this.

    What process should I use?

    Thank you!

    Thank you for your response.

These instructions worked, the only difference is something with the product key.

When you start the computer with the Vista DVD, there will be a message that the DVD made part of a Kit of HP restore and put the restore DVD to verify the license. Eject you the Vista DVD, put in the support DVD and press to enter. It will check, and then you put the Vista DVD in.

You follow the steps as written until it asks for your product key. Skip step product key (the key written on the side of my case was not accepted). After that, follow the written procedure. Once it's installed, you'll notice that Vista has a valid OEM product key.

  • Satellite L350-277 - can I install driver touchpad of another model?

I just changed from a Satellite M70 and the touchpad performance is far superior. Is it possible to install the driver for the touchpad on the L350 M70? Anyone see any problem?

The Satellite L350 pilot leaves the pointer jumps all over the screen. Before say you 'change settings' - I - for about an hour.
The Satellite M70 driver has much more stability and more features - like every corner can have a function - copy / paste for example.

Every technophobe in the Toshiba got ideas, before I screw to the top of the main interface on my new L350.

    Hello

I can t imagine that jumping is caused due to the driver. Make sure that you do not touch the touchpad if you type something. Alternative, you can disable the touchpad due in writing if you press FN + F9.
    Check this box!

And before you install a driver from another laptop you need to test the latest driver for your laptop. Please first check from Toshiba Web site for an update of the L350 driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

By the way: what OS is installed at present? Do you use a preinstalled OS from Toshiba?

According to specification for laptop, your laptop Qosmio has Atheros WLAN + BT card inside.
I do not know what you have installed and what is the status of the drivers in Device Manager, but all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download driver Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp or portal Toshiba WLAN - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

When everything is installed properly you can use the WLAN connection when the wireless network adapter is correctly enabled and it can be done by using the FN + F8 key combination. It works for you?
