Microsoft will Force Windows 10 on compatible Satellite L830-16W

I know the title of the thread seems stupid, but read web reports MS really want people out of Windows 8.1.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L830-16W, which thanks to Toshiba, is not compatible Windows 10.

Very disappointed Toshiba may not be disturbed, making it less than 3 year hardware run the newish OS.

Is smart enough to drop the Windows 10 download on my machine of Microsoft Update?

My laptop was not supposed to be compatible with Win10, but with a little registry tweaking I got it to download and install, Win10 works fine.

  • Re: It will make Windows 7 drivers for Satellite P200D?

I noticed that the drivers for P100 are available. Since it is a model older P200 P200D, means that there will be 100% be drivers for P200D?

I m afraid person here can give you the answer to your question. We can only speculate on this.

I have checked the Toshiba Win7 download page and is surprised that the old Satellite P100 is supported.
So I hope P200/P200D will be supported too. I have the model Satellite P200D - 111 (PSPBQE).

  • Force Windows 7 install branch LDR/QFE Hotfix (reg entry?)

Acording to KB897225 , you can use the registry to force updates to fix Internet Explorer to install the QFE versus files an update/patch LDR branch

    1. Click Start , click run , type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK .
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
    3. Point to new , click DWORD value , type QFEInstalled to name the registry entry, and then press ENTER.
    4. Right-click QFEInstalled , click modify , type 1 in the value data box to assign a value of 1 to the registry entry and then click OK.

Question: Is there a similar registry entry that will force Windows XP , Vista or 7 updates to day doing the same thing, instead of the version of GDR files, it installs the version of LDR branch?

    Hello

you are also a member of phpcs.com. Cluberti answered present year last for Vista/7. You must extract the cab and use pkgmgr.exe to install the update_bf.mum (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=136644).

For XP, you must use the /B switch (/ b:SP3QFE), if you want to force the Installation of the hotfix QFE version.

  • The Microsoft Internet Server will host Windows XP or after April 8, 2014 product activation?

Original title: for Windows XP product activation

I understand that support and security updates for Windows XP is scheduled to be completed April 8, 2014.

    Now, here's the scenario.

Suppose I have the installation CD of Windows XP. I installed it on my desktop PC. I need to have activated the or after April 8, 2014.

The Microsoft Internet Server will host for Windows XP product activation?

    Hello

    This FAQ http://www.microsoft.com/norge/piracy/activation_faq.mspx says:

Microsoft use activation to force me to upgrade? In other words, Microsoft will never stop giving activation codes for all products that require activation?
No, Microsoft use activation as a tool to force people to upgrade. Activation is simply a tool in the fight against piracy, nothing else.

Microsoft will also support Windows XP activation throughout his life and will probably make the point that turns off activation at the end of the life cycle of the product so that users would be more needed to activate the product.

  • Said Microsoft digital image suite is not compatible with Windows 7, but...

So say microsoft digital image suite is not compatible with Windows 7, but I just read this on a forum and other people were in agreement:

"I have Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 and installed on Windows 7 64bt without any problem at all. I didn't do anything special, just installed. I don't understand why other people had problems. "

me the trying to instal it or it will cause problems to other programs? I can't find anything as versatile as Microsoft Photo Suite Edition and would be very happy if it would work on windows 7.

Nope. Not bad at all. At most, it will not work or some features work exactly as they should. But, most of the people that I have seen and read about had no problems at all. You really don't lose anything else than it is time to give it a try. Chances are, though, that it will work without any problem.

  • Microsoft will come out with a "WinPad' (Windows iPad)?

    I was just wondering...

    It would be very cool.
I would like TO design / develop the WinPad!

    Hi Dante_M,

Please ignore the facetious answer No Mo. The simple answer is in fact not. Or at least, it is very unlikely that Microsoft will get out a 'WinPad"or something like that.

However, there are a number of Tablet PC out there running Windows 7. They are not made by Microsoft, but they are running an operating system of Microsoft Windows, exactly as does your computer.

Take a look at this link for the Microsoft Store, which lists some of the multiple tablets out there running Windows 7. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/en_US/list/size.4/CEID.174925300/sort.listPrice/CategoryID.54536100/parentCategoryID.44066900/order.up

  • How many times Microsoft will allow you to activate Windows

As the questions indicates how many times you can activate Windows Vista Business? I would like to know because I had to activate Windows 3 - 4 times on a course of 3 days. Is there a limit to the number of times where Microsoft will allow you to activate Windows on the same computer with the same configuration?

    Thank you

    Hi Victor,

The answer to your question would be both 'yes' and 'no '.

IIRC, there is a limit on the number of times your license can be activated via the Internet.

However, after the limit is reached, you can still call them for telephone activation.

(You will have to wait before the automated voice system to reach a real person tho)

  • How can I make Microsoft Picture It! 7.0 compatible with Windows 7?

I have Microsoft Picture It! 7.0 and it was excellent on XP, with the exception of a few freeze ups here and there.  Now I have windows 7 and all my data, including the resulting program transferred on it and Windows 7 recognizes that picture it! as a folder of small images and texts.  It is obviously something I can do to make it compatible, but I have to be a subscriber of Microsoft so that they to guide me through it, which is ungodly expensive.  What can I do for Microsoft Picture It! 7.0 compatible with Windows 7?

Picture it! 7.0 works perfectly under Windows 7 32 bit (not sure about 64-bit version) with the exception of some functions such as new models.  But it should open your existing files OK.  You must install from your original disc in Windows XP Service Pack 2 (as George_222 suggested) compatibility mode.

    Open Computer
Open your picture it! 7 installation disc
    Right click on Setup.exe
    Select the Compatibility tab
Choose Windows XP Service Pack 2
    Ok

Then double-click on setup.exe to install
