Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig 4001

Hello, I recently installed a new Installation of Windows 7, Home Premium edition on a new hard disk on a Compaq Presario desktop computer.  I have a Dlink DWL-G132 wireless USB adapt which I configured successfully for Windows 7.  When it works... it works great!

Question: Every 20 minutes or lose connectivity to the internet and I have to restart the computer in order to regain access.  I have disabled the function of the power on the driver for this device.

I checked the event log and I see: Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig 4001.

Does anyone know how to remedy this situation.  All entries would be most greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help and I hope someone can help resolve shortly.

Hi Bluize64,

Are a. When you facing this problem?

B. do you receive any errors?

C. recent changes made on your computer?

First of all, I suggest you run troubleshooting network from the following link and see if that helps.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Then, perform a virus on your computer online scan to check if the problem is caused by a virus.

If the steps above is not enough you might have to reset the battery TCP\IP from following link and check if IE loses connection often.

  • Windows 7 - WLAN AutoConfig system error

Running Windows 7, windows is up to date.  Blue screen error at normal startup. Must start safe mode (Safe Mode with Networking does not work). System Restore worked for about 3 weeks, but then I couldn't start again.  Using the system configuration, I restarted very well to all startup programs. Using the system configuration, I gradually restarted all Services except the autoconfiguration WLAN service. I disabled the autoconfiguration WLAN service; restarted normally. My system seems to work very well with disabled WLAN AutoConfig. No wireless adapters or wireless network is not installed/enabled. Since I have installed nothing wireless, I guess I can let WLAN AutoConfig is disabled, but is this correct assumption and is there a solution for this?

  • HP 14-d003tx Notebook PC: I installed Microsoft Windows 8.1 but I don't know what drivers to install.

Hi, the trial of 8.1 windows installed on my PC laptop HP 14-d003tx expired already so I installed a new windows 8.1 Pro 64 - bit OS. I went here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-14-Notebook-PC-series/6529958/model/6753958 to check the drivers to install but I was confused because I don't know who's who or what drivers I need to install in my laptop. For example, for drivers bluetooth and wlan, there are 2 choice, MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) adapter and Mediatek 802.11 Wireless LAN driver card, same thing for the bluetooth and other drivers. Can you please help me that driver is compatible or drivers that I need to install in my laptop? Or how will I know that I need to install drivers. Thank you!

  • WLan AutoConfig was able to start with the error 193:0xc1

    Former title: error 193:0xc1

My wireless does not connect because it says that the WLan service failed to start.

I went to the computer > manage > services > WLan AutoConfig. It has been set to automatic but it was empty when he should have said start. When I tried to start it I got the message service was able to start and the error in the title.

I opened the dependencies in order to check if that was the problem and each of them have begun. So, it seems that the error is always in WLan AutoConfig.

I tried the system restore (this problem just started today) to an earlier point, last week. It sticks on the system restore is initializing an hour +. I tried several restore points, but it always gets stuck on initialization.

I looked at similar questions and I did everything recommended in people, but it seems that the answers stop without the original poster saying that they got it to work or not.

    Hello JesseLeeTx,

    ·         Did you check if your wireless network adapter is working properly?

You can try uninstalling the wireless network card and install it. This will reset most of your network components

    ========================
    1. click on start. In the start search box type "devmgmt.msc", and then press ENTER.
    2. expand "Network adapters", double-click the entry for the wireless network device.
    3. click on the "Driver" tab, click "Uninstall".
    4. click on start. In the start search box type "appwiz.cpl", and then press ENTER.
5 remove the entries related to the wireless network adapter.
Reinstall the driver with your driver CD. After installation, create the connection.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the driver from Device Manager, then go to the computer or the device factory site download the latest driver for your network card and install it.

  • WLAN Autoconfig error 2: the system cannot find the specified file

    Hello!

I've read through messages for 2 days now the solution could apply to my problem yet.
My wireless adapter stopped working and I traced the problem back to Services-> Wlan AutoConfig' that cannot be started. Whenever I press 'Start', I get a message saying "" Windows could not start the service WLAN autoconfiguration on the computer Local Wlan AutoConfig error 2: the system cannot find the specified file "."
I tried the "sfc/scannow" and "netsh winsock reset" command in an elevated command prompt and then restart, but neither have worked.
Now I'm all out of options and I hope someone here can help me!
    Best regards
    Anders

After doing a lot of research I found a solution. It turns out that my registry has been screwed up (I also try to get aero back and noticed that I have no "themes" in the registry or services.) Wlansvc in the registry were missing folder and the security settings.

    My problem was

WLAN Autoconfig error 2: the system cannot find the specified file

As I had windows 8 on the other partition, I exported the registry (wlansvc), went into windows 7 and he added. Now I can connect wirelessly.
    I'm uploading my reg file (I use windows 7 ultimate with sp1 x 64).

I hope this helps (I'm not sure if this is specific to my wireless card - edimax)

In your case I'd take a Win XP disk and would try to reinstall the system.
Still is it that you are not able to boot into normal mode and safe mode so I put t see another solution for you.
Of course, the blue screen of death could be related to a hardware problem (HARD drive problem) and in this case the installation of the system not fix your problem. Then this would require the new survey

  • Scanners supported in Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7

I have a HP Scanjet 5370c running on my desktop PC with Windows XP and am planning to upgrade to Windows 7 by releasing.  However, when the software running Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta to determine the compatibility of the system, the report indicates that the 5370 Scanjet is not compatible with Windows 7.  Further investigation on the HP Web site titled "Supported in Microsoft Windows Vista Scanners" page, it seems that my scanner is not supported on Vista either.  Does this mean that my scanner which works great under XP has been made obsolete due to lack of a driver which runs under Vista or Windows 7?  I like the Scanjet 5370c better than most scanners newest I've seen, it seems a shame to throw the right equipment for lack of support drivers.

I understand your point of view, and it's a good thing.  BUT it can cost the sale of new scanners.

The Scanjet 400, for example, was a very popular scanner.  Do not update for Vista, HP turned its back to a large number of its customers.

When I buy a scanner to work with Windows 7, guess what?  Because of the behavior of HP, I'll be that much less likely to buy a HP one.

I'm probably not the only one to see things this way.

  • I need to display a corporate tutorial site which is only supported by Microsoft Windows.  Is it possible to load windows on an external hard drive and a MacBook to view the Web site?

I need to post a tutorial for some training company corporate site only supports Microsoft Windows.  I'll buy a MacBook in the coming weeks when I go to training and I wonder if there is a way to load windows on an external drive and launch it on my MacBook?  I know you can use bootcamp, but I don't want to burn up that much of my Flash memory by placing it on the MacBook itself.  I have a 1 to Seagate that I use on my iMac at home for Time Machine.  Could just operate with Windows on it to visit the society tutorial with my MacBook?

Boot Camp will not allow that.

It is possible that one of the many emulators Windows for Mac can allow you to run with such a disk configuration.

I tried several times to install the driver Qualcomm Atheros QCA 9000 Series Wireless LAN for Microsoft Windows 8.1 in my HP 2000 Notebook PC via HP Support Assistant.  It downloads fine and looks through the installation process, but returns a gray "x" and seems not to install this driver.  Have same problem with Cyberlink Media Suite 10-Office Update, also.

    @WalterPowers,

    Thanks for posting.

It is possible that there is a problem with the wizard for help where, you may not be able to install the drivers using the program. I would like to troubleshoot the software itself by following the ideas of SuperMario1 in this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-Software-Recovery/HP-Support-Assistant-Window...

Also, you can try to install the Qualcomm and Cyberlink yourself. If you go to HP.com, click on support and troubleshooting omn. Drivers and downloads, enter the model number of the laptop, in research. You will be brough to a page where you can select drivers for your product, after selecting a BONE.
