Hello GIS_Person,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum

Is this a recent installation of Word or this facility has been working properly for a long time? What is the version of Office 2003 or Office 2007 Word? You have recently installed another program that could interfere with the functionality of Word? You could try to save all your Word documents, make sure you have the product key and the available media and then uninstall and then reinstall the program to see if that solves the problem. Have you tried to open documents on another machine and see if you get the same response from the file?

You can also try a system restore to an earlier point, who could return to a time before the problem occurred. I am including the instructions below to access the system restore.

  • Java installers and Remover will not open

Hello! I have a problem with my Dell XPS M1330. I finally managed to run properly after factory restore, but it came with all the software installed on it in 2007. He had jre 6 installed above, and I deleted it, for safety, with the intention to install jre 8. I downloaded jre 8 online and offline, and they open at all. I deleted my temporary files, they always opens. The java removal tool opens either. Other applications that I have installed, as Firefox and office open up very well without any problems. It's just java. I tried using online and offline and not and same admin removal tool. But none of the java applications will start. Any suggestions? If you're wondering, I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. I'm sure it's updates, but I keep getting updates one or both. I don't know if I have Service pack two or not. Thank you!

I think I've solved the problem! If anyone else has this problem, I recommend you update your software through Windows Update and accessing Microsoft Web site and install Windows Vista SP1, and Windows Vista SP2. After that, the installation of java program worked well!

  • Windows 8 Photos App, calendar, messaging, and SkyDrive will not open

Windows 8 App Photos opens and closes immediately if started from subway tile interface.

If I try to open any picture or video with the Photos App, I get the message:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  You will not have the appropriate
    permissions to access the item.
Other image programs work (Paint, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, etc..) and can display the pictures and videos.
While troubleshooting the problem, I have tried several things and noticed some other applications of Windows 8 also not open, including calendar, messaging and applications SkyDrive also do not open (they try to open and close immediately).
It's on a new installation of Windows 8, which replaced a Windows 7 installation, with nothing recorded, from a SSD drive.  Everything seemed to work so I started to install software and data, when I noticed the problem with the Photos App.  I installed Windows Media Center, Office 2010, Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and some small programs and applications.
When it is started in safe mode, open the Photos App produces the following message is displayed:

This behavior has emerged in the last days and the problem is that Kaspersky has marked these apps as "not reliable."

    Solution:

    (1) open the 'Applications updates' section of Kaspersky Security Intrernet. A new window will open.

    (2) in the dropdown in the top left corner, select 'all '.

    (3) in the search box of the appearance of the upper right corner (the one with the magnifying glass) to Skydrive, calendar, Chat, or any other application does not.

    (4) 'files' (with extension *.html and a few others) will appear. These files will be marked with a red circle and the text 'Not reliable' (or something similar) or with a yellow circle and the text 'Minimum restricted' (or something similar)

    (5) select with the mouse each of these files (one by one) that appeared in your search and press the secondary button. A new menu will appear with the option "move group". Inside this option, you need to tell the program that you want to move each of these files to the Group of "reliable." A few seconds later, you will see how the red circle turns green.

    (6) run your mosaic application. It should work perfectly.

    Kind regards.

  • computer crashes, then try to restart and computer will not open properly he gets blocked on windows startup

my computer is very slow and constantly gets frozen, I try to restart, but my computer will begin to shut down and restart but crashes on saving settings windows, I have to restart several times and eventually it will continue and start over.  I have norton 360 and always check my computer for problems, I just can't understand what is the cause so I can take care of it. Help, please

    Hello

    1. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?

Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.
    Step A.
See the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

    Step B.
You need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.

So I ask you to install the Windows Xp Service Pack 3 for stable performance.
It improves the reliability of Windows by installing updates to software - new drivers for hardware and much more.

  • My daughter sent me Word documents that I can not open, probably because at the age of 87, I always use the Office 2000! Y at - there an update I can access for Windows XP that will fix this?

Usually in the past when I got docs who won't open, a menu will appear asking what program I want to use to open it.  This does not happen in this case.  My daughter uses a new laptop that obviously has a lot more progs installed up-to-date.  I can't even use a solution that arose when I was wxploring ways to solve the problem, because I don't seem to have the same menu that they refer.

Have to save the files in the old format of Microsoft Office 97/2000 before they are sent to you.
