When Word is open and my computer automatically applies an update to Vista, Word doesn't work more once the computer restarts.  Word opens, but it is not functional. • Satellite P200 PSPB6: Collapsed control buttons working after Vista update

  I have the Satellite P-200 model PSPB6 with Vista Home Premium for more than 1 year.
  So far, there is no problem of material with him.

  After the updates, then the functions keys were different, so I downloaded and installed the package of value added. The only difference was that collapsed buttons not all working.
  So I uninstalled the VAP and they worked as at the start.
  Something else - find the ButtonSetting.ini file and try to change the functions of the keys here.

  Recently, I noticed there was no sound when using my desktop and when I clicked on the icon Audio (lower-right) I was told that no speakers are connected.   Thanks to all who offered suggestions for this problem.  I decided to go back to a restore point before installing the critical update of HPs, and now everything works fine again.  I agree with Bob, probably the best thing to do would be to uninstall and start over - but I hesitate to try providence - the printer now works fine and if it is not broke, why fix it?

  I didn't understand quite what the critical update was all about, as I'm not on a public network (was someone will hack in and stuff print on my printer when I wasn't looking?), but usually I like to keep drivers updated etc, so is tied.

  I installed the last update of the HP Support Assistant said I needed.  Installation only is not as easily as the prerequisites installs and software seemed to have lost the ability to do automatic duplexing, which worked before.  He invites me to turn the paper and the "Print on Both Sides" now says "(manually).

  The function "automatic detection" used by some drivers on the install (or update) does not always; make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that a single is present):

  • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the device settings tab.
  • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

  You will probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the settings of the device.

• Designjet 4000: HP Designjet 4000 no longer work after Windows update 10.

  We have updated a Windows machine 10 - a new PC DELL Precision T1700 which is only a couple of months.  The update has been problematic with two printers netwoprk, but Canon A4/A3 is now printing.

  Updated since Win 7 lowered 8.1.

  The Designjet 4000 A0 has not printed since and is not found on the network through this machine.

  We looked for drivers, but Win10 won't even allow to install the old drivers: installation fails every time.

  (the original drivers have been in the PC, but I tried to delete to a new facility and since then, cannot install at all).

  Any help is appreciated for busy office!
