Hello

I had a look at your previous thread. The link provided in that previous thread is a good thing, but this link a little more options on how to save/backup contains all calendar information.

  • Microsoft Works Calendar 7

I have Windows 8 and put Microsoft Works 7 on it.  What I especially need for is the calendar.  I have found no other calendar that will be my appointments on the desk every day and leave it there until I got out them.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 then decided I didn't so a Microsoft support had me reset the computer to an earlier date to take it back to Windows 8.  That pretty well caused errors in everything and I had to take it to a local computer repair shop that fixed it.  She came back with all fixed except the calendar.  He always works in every sense, except that I can't add appointments.  I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and it still does not work properly.  I looked at other calendars that exist, but none works like the works calendar that I'm so used to using.

If anyone can help me with this, I would be eternally grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Microsoft Works is an Office suite obsolete and abandoned. Microsoft Works version 7.0 is not compatible with Windows 8, it might work sometimes, with random errors.

Please see the link below for more information on the contribution of the former programs compatible with more recent versions of Windows.

Make the programs more compatible with this version of Windows

In addition, I would like to introduce you to Microsoft Office Suite instead of Microsoft Works, which is power has many features compared to Microsoft Works:

Move Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office 2010

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Microsoft works 8 calendar error message

says error custom and modname wkcalac.dll report open the program
    any body can enlighten us?

This is a problem in Microsoft and you can try to find explanations on some site of Microsoft. You are right because this file is responsible for Works Calendar AppControl. If there is problem, try reinstalling Works again. Perhaps what is this file corrupted or damaged.

  • Microsoft works 8 calendar won ' t open, the error message received

The Microsoft Works 8 calendar was working fine Sunday / Monday. My husband had surgery Tuesday, I checked my mails but did not notice the lack

"reminder" pop-up. I got a call today, said I missed a meeting yesterday. "I tried the program through"All programs"opening and just get an error code indicating Mocrosoft has encountered an error and needs to close." The same code appears when I start my computer. I presume because they cannot automatically open the program.

  • Transfer of Microsoft Works

I have an old laptop that is phased out in favor of the more modern. Both are on Windows 7 SP1. The former came with Microsoft Works preinstalled but it doesn't have this feature, and I do not have a disk of Works Setup. I guess that I could simply transfer the file work of the other computer on this one, but I'm not sure it works as the registry keys would not transfer and I could finish with the register in a mess if I tried to do it manually.

I don't want to have to pay for the works everywhere - I consider that I did when I bought the old machine. Can someone help with this problem?

This transfer would not work and would be both the license and the right to the United States and in most of the countries.  The license of use of the works is related to this PC with OEM agreement.  It is better to create your own PC to allow the software when you buy one with factory pre-installed operating or software.

Your only option is to buy new software.  But doesn't that depress you, it is unlikely that the version of Works would work even on the new PC.  The software is interrupted, and support is complete.

I would take the free road: download your files from work to OneDrive.com and using the word free online or even WordPad locally.  Sure, you could buy the replacement of Microsoft Works (Microsoft Office), but which is $65, you can't pass.

  • Microsoft WORKS and system 8 +.

Later this year, I intend to buy a new computer with 8.1 already installed. I'll order with Office Student/home.

I have currently no need for office so using Works provided with System 7, just the calendar and word-processing.

I will be able to use the works with docs WORKS 8, OR at least open Office Student system? I don't want to not lose my calendar.

    Thanking you in advance

Work was abandoned in 2009 and is generally not available. As it was delivered pre-installed on the original PC license does not allow be reloaded on another. Unfortunately Microsoft do not release software in the public domain after retirement even if you must purchase a license for work is quite hard to find.

There is a text processor for Office Works import filter, spreadsheet files can be implemented in Excel by changing the .xls extension. The Works calendar utility will allow you to export its data to the vCalendar format, which can be recognized by a number of other public services, including Outlook however Outlook is not included in Office home and student.

    Welcome to the forums, melora!

First of all, we will make sure that your browser by e-mail and the calendar entries are the same e-mail that you configured in Outlook.

On your home screen, click the Options icon.  From there, go to device > Adanced configuration > default Services.  Check if those who correspond to your Outlook email address.

  • Microsoft Works Help 9

I have Microsoft Works SE 9.0 version on my desktop computer. On the calendar, there's a way to show a reminder of appointments and other things. You can set this to arrive at different times. I wanted to know if it is also a way that a sound or tone could also remind me of the upcoming event. I looked in the help and he showed ways for Windows XP and Vista to do, but am running windows 7 home. No help here, I'd appreciate.

    Perhaps?

  • I'm using MS works calendar every day as a reminder tool. I have another software that has this feature for Windows 8?

I have Microsoft works 9.0 is installed on my windows 7. I'm going to buy a new computer with windows 8. Y at - it software that has this feature? I understand that works is an abandoned product.

    [Moved from comments]

I did some checking into it.  I use Live Mail program, but not much for the calendar (he has some personal things, but by-and-large I use Outlook calendar to my business for most of my appointments and reminders).

So the Live Mail application has a setting for reminders, but it uses the setting of Outlook.com reminder to send a reminder email before the start of the event (which I think is terrible because I'm not getting emails real time anyway).  My point also appear on my phone, but also a small flag of the Windows 8 calendar applet on but only happened because they all sync to my same Hotmail account.

Therefore, it seems that you have a few options. If the reminders of the integrated application suffice (this purple headband), you can simply link to the same account as your application Live Mail calendar and be the source of reminder notifications.

  • Satellite L300 - 1 8 - Microsoft Works Suite has stopped working

    Hiya,

first I will say that I am only on my 2nd computer so im not exactly a brainbox on them.
    I have a Satellite L300 - 1 8 with microsoft vista home premium 32 bit.

Now, I can't open anything in microsoft works and if I try I get the message:

Then I can help you, in simple language please.

    Thank you. Julia :D

    Hello

It is a simple generic error message that you will always see when the programs or applications crash.

Something was wrong, but I can't tell what's wrong with your MS works.
If you want the event viewer for errors, but to be honest, you can check this will not help you much if you're not computer.

I gogoled a little and some people brought on the same error in MS Word, but like I said above; This is a generic error message.

However, the people have this problem than by the new installation of MS Works.
I don't know if you received a MS Works Mr. disc if so, remove/uninstall the MS Works the system first, reboot the laptop and use the MS Works drive for new installation.

    Hello!

You have installed a newer version of Microsoft Works? Normally, you can only use the version preinstalled work and so you do not need a key. It s already active and ready to use.

I think you use HARD drive recovery option to get a working dos version Works. :(

    Good bye

  • Wireless switch on satellite M50 159 lance 8 MS Works Calendar

When I go to the WiFi enabled or disabled using the hardware switch on the front of the laptop, Microsoft Works 8 schedule is launched. What is a known feature? How can I disable the launch?

    Hi Neil

I've never heard of this, but everything is possible. If you want you can try to remove these applications, restart the device and install again. Please watch carefully what happens after that.

AFAIK all software is tested before the recovery media is created and things like this aren't theoretically possible. If you check this forum I think your case is first and there is no similar problems.

Please inform us of what will happen if you try to remove and reinstall MS Works.

    Good luck!

  • Scan to Microsoft Works

When the scan on my Dell function no longer works, I bought a HP Deskjet 3070 e-all-in-one. This allowed me to analyze for the Microsoft Works word processor for editing documents.

I can't find this option on the HP. I lost my money?

    Thank you

    Sam

    Hello MasAnne

At this point, it seems the best thing to do would be to do a search with your preferred for the ROC "ocr software" free search engine stands for optical character recognition. OCR, is what allows to scan 'read' the words on the documents and put them into an editable document. There are both paid and free OCR software out there I suggest that you look at. FreeOCR is one of the applications that you can watch.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to Microsoft Works suite. There are several versions of the works since then as well (Works 9.0 was released in 2008).
