I read that Microsoft Works can be downloaded and is compatible with Windows 7, but I can't find where to download it from.

Where can I download Microsoft Works?

Microsoft Works is a licensed product and only has to be bought, it is not free and not legally downloadable unless you have a license.

You can export the database of Works (use the option Save as) in an Office format supported, normally dBase IV.

  • Microsoft Office 2013 is compatible with "Works for Windows.

My new pc is Windows 8.1 Desktop, HP Pavilion 500 series.  My aging XP pc has work for installed Windows I used since 2000 and who has all my files and a very useful database. This has been used for the execution of a small family business and all files are very important. How to install these old files and database on my new Windows 8.1?

I recently installed on this new pc HP Office 2013 Home & Business that I find very complicated compared to Works for Windows, which I understand is no longer available (such a shame because it was a brilliant program!).

In addition, anyone know if there is a dedicated database within 2013 Office Home & Business for the names and addresses and mail merge?  I can't find!

It seems that the XP machine has become a glorified weight and should be removed.  Disk drives fail, problematic USB and no internet access, indeed, it became useless and your knocking you head for anything.  Maybe time to change.

There would be a way to recover your data by converting the external hard drive on a hard drive where you would be able to transfer.  See this:

  • Pavilion a6530f: what video card installed works for Windows 10 and a 300W power supply?

I have a6530f a desktop Pavilion PC.  I am currently running Windows 7 and am interested in upgrading to Windows 10.  I get and error message when you try to install the W10.  "NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430".  I think I need to improve my video card.  Can what video card I install that will work for Windows 10 and is rated for the power supply 300W in my lap?  I'm not very techie.

Many of these inexpensive graphics cards for Newegg.com should work with Windows 10. Just watch for those who require a 300 watt power supply system or less.

Drivers for these cards may be on the page drivers GeForcefunds. Simply select the card in the drop-down list or use the "Auto-Detect".

  • Phone call from a person who claims to work for Windows.

Occasionally my old computer crashes when I read a Blog, and I have to close it manually.  When I start backup it asks if I want to send an error message.  If I do not send the message, in a few days I get a phone call from someone claiming to work for Windows and they want access to my computer.  Is it a coincedence?  It happened three times in the past months, and I know that Microsoft does not call customers.  So is there someone who works at Microsoft who does something they shouldn't?  The people who have always had Indian accents or Chinese who are difficult to understand.

Yes, you can install and activate simultaneously on both computers.

  • Download on the Microsoft site for Windows 7 installation disc.

As a first step please check the product key. I typed in the figure of 25 key product exactly as described on the Microsoft Certificate, attached to my office when I bought it new. The o/s was preinstalled by the manufacturer Fujitsu-Siemens.

Microsoft will not check my product key stating "it is not supported or my version is wrong. It's ridiculous, my windows is already active and running for many years in Vista with a certified product ID. In addition I received regular updates of Microsoft windows.

So, how can I fix this nonsense to complete the installation disc?

Unless you have already tested the compatibility of your computer with Windows 7: -.

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - download [This can run on Windows XP, so it must be able to run on Vista]

Windows 8 Upgrade Wizard - download [This can run on Windows XP, so it must be able to run on Vista]

In addition to running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, you may want to run an equivalent for Windows 10.  Unfortunately, you will have to use a substitute because Windows 10 pre-staged at level [GWX] cannot run on XP so I guess it cannot work on Vista.  So, to launch the wizard to upgrade Windows 8 instead which doesn't work on Vista.  Windows 10 system requirements and Windows 8 system requirements are pretty much the same if the results will be useful.  The first versions of the system requirements of Windows 10 has also stated that the processor (CPU) must support SSE2, NX, EAP extensions, but I have never established if my CPU reaches this spec [I just know that it works fine] and I have absolutely no idea if this part of the obligation has become irrelevant or is simply omitted for brevity.

It is worth to run the Upgrade Advisor, even if you have already decided to go and install the new OS.  At the very least they would warn you of the hardware components you need to pay attention to.  Later, you can get better drivers installing the OS gives you - where to find the hardware drivers.

I realize that you do backups of all of your own files, files of installation of any applications that you downloaded and product keys for all your applications.

I realize that you will also do an image of the system so that you can go back to square one if everything goes wrong.  You must also make sure that you have both made & tested the hot spare / boot disk required by your utility Imaging System.  Macrium Reflect is an imaging Center free I've seen many people recommend.

If you have a factory restore utility then you might find that your computer manufacturer has also provided a way to backup who until USB so that you can run the procedure to boot from USB, although the attempt to upgrade preventing your computer from starting.

I'm not trying to say he'll be all this trouble, just that it will be worth the effort to prepare for this eventuality.

  • Microsoft office for windows 7 will not download

Thus, after Windows 10 has been downloaded without authorization on our laptop ASUS and nearly a week of the struggle of the community looking for a solution, that I got ASUS was the F9 recovery.  Of course the Office package that we bought to be reinstalled and now it is our problem.

I used the disc and then tried to follow the instructions which had to do a microsoft office activation.  The Wizard no longer supports this and we would like to be able to use Office without having to buy another product.  Is there a solution?  I don't want to be told how great Windows 10 is.  We have already on another computer.  I am looking for a way to download the 2007 disc that I or another solution that does not involve buying more things than we are on a fixed income.

Then run setup.exe and screen 2010 opens with 4 choices.  Enter the product key, enter the preferred type continue the configuration process, full reboot, Setup and... it worked.  I'll have to stop taking the words of my husband for stuff that doesn't work do not.  When I installed it, it worked fine.   Thank you
