  If this is the model of non-retine of 2012, then you can install 16GBs of RAM, but not by Apple. Then buy the 4 GB model then visit OWC to buy two 8 GB modules to replace the two accompanying him.

  Yes, the MBP will work with a single module of RAM installed, but there will be a slight performance decrease.  A MBP 2012 will accept a module of 8 GB RAM.

  Install each RAM module individually in each slot, leaving the other empty.  If the two RAM modules work in a slot and not the other, the slot is faulty.  Sometimes the adjustment screw can resuscitate the slot.  If this is not the case, make an appointment at an Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

  On crucial.com, I chose my system I, mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15 inches. I want to move to 8 GB of ram, but I want to know if their DDR3L will work. On their site it says DDR3 is 1.35 volts and the DDR3L is 1.35 volts as well. They are both the same speed, 1600. What is the difference between the two and the DDR3L will work? • Mid-2012, MacBook Pro 15 '' (retina) crashes "

  Just my mid-2012, the Mac Book Pro has started planting without rhyme or reason.  I have to press the power button until the lights on the keyboard turns off and then turn it back again.  I get the notice to press any button or wait a few seconds for the reboot to start.  Apple logo light up and sometimes half way through and crashes again, sometimes it restarts successfully.  Then it crashes again.  I read other posts related to GPU and solder issues, such as a hardware problem that Apple will not acknowledge receipt.  No idea how to fix it?

  Hi all!

  I'm having serious problems with my Unibody Macbook Pro mid 2012 since a few days ago.

  On Sunday, all of a sudden the computer really slow and G.Chrome used a lot of CPU, so I rebooted the machine, but on reboot, I couldn't get the operating system to start. I kept getting a white screen with the circle-slash (prohibitory sign) and a file of o Apple logo with the question mark that would Flash briefly before returning to the slash of circle.

  

  After leaving the computer alone for half an hour, it starts without a problem. I rebooted again to see if the problem disappeared, but he returned to the circle-slash. I tried the resets of LANDAU and SMC but no result. I couldn't enter Recovery Mode (via CMD + R, because he just left me a white screen). I got the computer to reboot again and ran first aid to disk on the disk and partition utility and I got a message that says that there is only a problem with the map of partition with could prevent from starting.

  So, I downloaded El Capitan on the App store, is an installation of the flash player program, reformatted the whole drive and reinstalled the operating system but I always get the slash circle approximately 85% of the time and cannot set the Mode of recovery without the flash player. Also, I can't access Single User Mode (CMD + S) I get an error that says something about a problem loading the kernel cache.

  In summary: when the operating system loads (15% of the time), it works well; but can not access the Recovery Mode in single user Mode.

  I was connect my external hard drive that works 24 Fedora quite frequently beyond a few days. I use the option key during the startup key to choose the operating system.   Yes, a replacement hard drive. They are not terribly expensive and replacement is simple.

  As you can see here, your MBP can, indeed, support for 16 GB of RAM. However, DIMMs must meet Apple specifications which are often much more demanding that really meant DIMMS for PC can meet. One of the advantages of buying from OWC (in the link) is that they provide 100% support so their products need to be designed with the Mac in mind. If you have no problem with DIMM Apple, but you do with Corsair DIMMS, I would say getting them replaced or, better yet, to get a refund.

  I have a MacBook 2012 mid Pro and whenever I try to start it only shows the folder with question mark flashing. But, whenever I plug in my external hard drive, it boots. I also tried selecting the boot drive and the interns don't show, but once in the external plug-in, it shows externally as Macintosh HD.   While in the drive external hard, that I hope has the same operating system, can you go to utilities utilities disk-file and run a repair of the internal drive and repair permissions? You could also do the same thing in starting mode of recovery-command keys R at startup. Using the recovery disk utilities. If you can't get the internal drive to show everyone, most likely the drive is bad. Then, you will need to replace it.

  I got the error 4BAT/1/40000000: 0x8984fb90 while doing the test hardware. Can anyone advise if this is a question of logic board or battery? I checked in the coconut battery test and battery seems fine. I had this problem all of a sudden as I was getting backup from 2-3 hours, but all of a sudden, it worked only when power adapter connected. I checked using different power adapt too and also tried to remove the battery (it was working fine when connected). Any clue?
